  1. I wish I agreed that it was un-raven-like. This is clearly the team posture, this "prevent" defense. The only thing it clearly prevents is us from keeping them from scoring, or us from stopping a slow, steady advance of the opponent
  2. My takeaways from yesterday: Prevent Defense = slow death by 1,000 cuts. Why back off so far that you just allow the opponent to march down the field using up precious time, and with the same result: easy first downs, followed by a score? Why not stick with a tight defensive posture when it's working? Flacco = Slow Joe Why abandon the run game when it's working, and working well? The Ravens coaching staff seems to be stuck in some alternate universe where you aren't allowed to run unless you're up by a score. Some have said that this is not a valid view of yesterday's game because of the time-of-possession, but that's really just more proof: three-and-outs don't use much clock time, especially when it's three incompletes-and-out. RUN THE DANG BALL.
