  1. This is a dependable good corner and our defense just got better. In the draft, pick up Mike Williams in the first round to be a play maker which will compliment our current WR's. Pick up a edge rusher in the 2nd round to help our pass rush. Pick up Will Likeley, JR in the third round as a competent potentially great corner back and returner and then pick up some linemen in the 4th and 5th round to help our offensive line depth. I know some people might disagree but we need explosive play makers in the draft and depth. Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! Today I drink for Ireland! LOL!
  2. Yes I agree that is the play I was speaking about but letting that slide whether it should of been called on one or both players upheld the holding penalty and moved them back 10 yards and out of field goal range instead of offsetting and do over. That should never happen and had a major impact on the outcome of the game. Call the penalty on one or both but call the penalty, that is there job. It would be interesting to actually have the refs explain if they actually did not see it or that they saw it and let it slide so Atlanta could be pushed back 10 yards. That would be a good question.
  3. We witnessed the biggest collapse in a super bowl, not the greatest, in my opinion. We have to tip our hats to the Patriots. They took advantage of all opportunities, some earned, some given. Falcons gave them some with horrible play calling and the Refs gave them some with 9 penalties called on Falcons and only 4 called on Patriots which left the door open and Bill and Tom closed the door, so congrats. Just remember, if the intentional face mask was called on the Patriots, which was so obvious that one wonders what the Refs intentions were or just plain incompetence. We will never know. The holding penalty would have offset and Atlanta could have attempted a field goal and probably win the game with a little over 3 minutes left. I believe that is the big take away from the game, don't leave it in the hands of the refs when you have a chance to put any team away, especially the Patriots! See you all next season.
  4. What a great pick would be to grab Likely who played for the Terps in the 2nd or 3rd round. We need football players with skills. he will recover from his ACL injury and as a corner back he can return punts. Just saying he could be a sleeper in the draft because of the injury and he is in our backyard. Pick two CB's in the early rounds.
  5. There is no question that the Belichik/Brady Pats being in the AFC East helps them get 2 or 3 more wins per season over then the Steelers, Ravens and Bengals AFC North which usually gives them home field advantage in the Playoffs. Even with a mediocre team they squeak out 9 or 10 wins and win there division. Anyone saying anything different regarding this one fact does not know football. Home field advantage in the Playoffs and/or a bye week is a big deal. Have they ever made the playoffs as a wildcard??????Having stated that fact, they are coached well, limit mistakes on the field and they do take advantage of every little advantage to win, including taping defensive signals and deflating footballs in cold weather. It is really hard to root or respect that team who has been caught cheating twice. Ravens are the only team to go up to Foxboro and win 50% of Playoff games but we all know it should of been more. The Pats do not have a good record on the road in Playoff games. This puts more emphasis on the above point about going 6-0 or 5-1 or at worst 4-2 in your division every year. and getting home Playoff games. I am not a hater just making the case. If Patriots play Ravens in Baltimore this year, Ravens will win.
  6. There is no question that the ACL repair takes about a year or longer to be close to 100%. Some of it is more mental than physical. Missing time throwing to his new receivers in the off season was evident throughout the season, not on the same page on reads and routes. That will improve big time and I believe we will see that this year. Put the time in this off season and reap those rewards, just do it.
  7. I hope that we don't forget about William Likely, III. If he is available in the 2nd or 3rd round we should give the Maryland star a shot coming off of ACL surgery. He is a winner and can play multiple position as well as DB. He would be on Kiper list if he did not get injured. Players come back quite well of ACL surgery.
  8. Please get Mike Williams WR Clemson with our first pick in the draft if he is still available and spend the money on a proven free agent CB in his prime. This would solve two big issues. If you have to trade up to get Williams then do it, he is a playmaker and will be one for years.
  9. Ozzie, Please find a way to draft Mike Williams WR from Clemson. He will be a major play maker for years.
  10. Steve, Our receivers need your experience on route running, seeing the field and taking advantage of what the defense is giving you. Why don't you stay and become a coach? You would have my vote!!!!!
  11. Joe will have the whole off season being healthy to work with Perriman, Moore, Campanero, Wallace,Williams, Boyle, Pitta, Waller and Gillmore. I think we have some talent there but always could use more. I would like to see everyone be on the same page which was not the case this year. So many drives stalled because of it. I know there are so many other issues to make this team better but at least I have some optimism about knowing that with all the time, baring injuries, that Joe will have to develop his receiver relationships, quick reads, give what the defensive is giving you, and make the right routes, Besides Pitta, these relationships could blossom. Hope springs eternal! Having said that, We still need to run the ball effectively and at least be at 40% run to pass ratio to make the offense work. Let's see Joe be a leader this off season and demand his receivers on the roster to put the extra time in with him. How many times did we see Joe through to a spot and the receivers were clueless and drives stalled. I believe we lost at least two games because of it. Build those relationships Joe. Be a professional and hone your craft. There are no more excuses.
  12. Best loss of the season. We moved up a few spots for the draft. Our needs are faster cover guys, better pass rushers, better offensive lineman who can block consistently, and receivers who can actually get open and catch the ball. Grab a few high dollar young players in free agency, cut some older and slower expensive players, and get more speed in the draft. Most importantly please get some creative coaches on offense. I am sick of watching 3rd down and 8 and we throw a 5 yard pass and punt. I am sick of watching our defense give a 6 yard cushion for easy completions. I am still a fan but come on man!!!! Bring Torrey Smith back, at least he could get open and catch the football and you can probably work out a good deal for him. Get the best offensive line players out there, pass protection and run blocking can make any offense look good even ours. See you all in the summer.
  13. Our whole season came down to making a tackle. Powers, Weddle, and Mosely, come on man! AB is 180lbs soaking wet and you guys can't knock him to the ground for the win! That pass was a mistake by the Steelers not passing into the end zone and now all the talking heads are celebrating that mistake play. Our guys make the tackle, every talking head is saying what a bone head play call that was. Very disappointing!
  14. As a Raven's fan, after 14 games and all the good and bad plays and injuries of a season, our team still controls its own destiny. If you told me at the beginning of the season that on Christmas day we would be playing the Steelers for the AFC North crown, most of us fans would of taking it. Who cares if we go 10-6 or 13-3 to win the AFC North and get a home playoff game. It is all or nothing. There will be no wild card in our control unless we get a lot of help, so Christmas day is it. Let's all get behind our team and root for them to play good mistake free football. Let's be thankful our team as a chance,. Let hope our players give us fans a great Christmas win! Go Ravens!!!
  15. As a complete Ravens fan through thick and thin, I can feel the unrest of the players and coaches not playing the way they know they can play and missing an opportunity on National Television to show it. Keep that fire! Take care of the Eagles this Sunday first. Take care of the Steelers on Christmas and finish strong against the Bengals. Give yourselves an opportunity to play the Patriots again in the Playoffs. Keep focused and don't lose this opportunity that you have in front of you. No matter what has happened in the past, you still have all of your goals for this team this year. Let's put it all together and play the best football you can play. Let's go!!!!!! Control what is in your control individually, and just play football. Leave it all out their on the field and have no regrets.
