So where's our cap at now? Is it safe to guess we can get this center position filled and Steve Smith?
I can't believe some actually believe our front office is bad. They have given us a very high rate of success for many years.Funny, we won the Superbowl in 2013... Is that not just a year ago?
A guy named Joe passing to two Smiths. Sounds kinda boring to me.
I hear ya there. It's amazing how even the off-season keeps us on edge. We're still not out of the forest. This Monroe ordeal has been such a roller coaster. Relieved to hear we're probably going to retain him. In the past few days I've gone from almost losing hope in the 2014 season to now being very optimistic.
Just gotta trust the Oz man
Oher at LT....
7/126 \= 10/132 but if they're coming out and saying the cap will keep rising it kinda feels like we can treat it like those proportions.I'd give him 10M because of how much the cap has increased. 10m annually is now equivalent to 7m last year due to the massive increase in cap space
I'd love for the cap to keep going up like that. I hate seeing great players on any team have to go elsewhere to get what they deserve. Not exactly sure what the long term effects of this steady increase would be but right now it sounds pretty good.
Sounds good to me. Give me a Monroe contract and any other improvements are just icing on the cake. I just hope we are willing to dish out that 10 mil/ year. Would he be more willing to sign with us if we front loaded the contract though? That's what I meant by getting stingy if we had to, where he takes up a large cap number this year and future years he's pretty cap friendly. Smith is a relatively short term investment, and even Pitta is up there in age.Let's assume worst case scenario on Montoe. He signs for $$10 million a year and his cap hit is $10 million. Then the Draft class should cast about $5 million. That still leaves $8 or so million if we do not cut Koch, Leach, and McClain, all three who would represent a collective savings of close to $6.5 million, if I remember correctly. I think the Ravens can afford to be ballsy this year
The guy wants money, obviously. I'm not sure what number that is but our O-line needs some investment. Not saying that this is the route we should take, but a scenario where I could feel more content. Biggest improvement needed IMO, o-line.Why would you want them to get stingy after signing Monroe? Also, getting Daryl back has to be a huge goal. The Mike linebacker spot is so very important to a defense and I'd honestly argue it's the most important position in the defense (maybe second in the 3-4)
Kinda starting to wish we would pay Monroe and then get kinda stingy for the rest of the year. Even if that means no Pitta and/or Smith.
We have dead money for however long we signed him as far as I know, if we cut him. But I've heard after this year, it could make a lot of sense to cut him if he doesn't perform well. I'm sure there is some amount of dead money associated with that too.If we would happen to cut Rice (not saying they would, just if it turned out he was in very deep trouble), is it true that I heard it would be 5,000,000 some against our cap? So would he just count against this years, or however long his contact is?
Isn't that 2 million more now?John Clayton just tweeted that a source told him the cap will be at $132 million.
oh lol. Good thing I didn't make it a topic! That was a parody article...
So what's this about Peyton telling Pete Carroll to pay up? Seems like a bunch of hoopla as usual, but does anyone know anything about this year's "super bowl being rigged" theory?
This is true for me as well... because I'm broke quite frankly lol. If you already have millions saved up though? Not sure how Ed was financially, but if I had a nice stack I might think differently.I dont think that is true.
I think he know full well this is and always will be his home.
I know for a fact I would not have turned down the pay check he was getting from the Texans.
One of my friends randomly told me that the last game Ed won was the Super Bowl, is this true!?
More like he wanted Texans to pay for his hip surgery.he was just with the texans to try to be hip to the kids
I want Anquan to make sure Flacco stays good.
First year fan of the Ravens here from Bristol CT. Fantasy football got me watching the games and I had Ray Rice as my first rounder. I quickly started enjoying the Raven victories just as much as my running back putting up fantasy points. And these guys never quit especially when it matters!
The Pats game was epic, I saw every minute down to that nailbiting last field goal. Then hey-diddle-diddle Ray Rice up the middle (which less importantly but still, won my matchup) was just plain crazy. And now in the playoffs not one person I talked to gave them a chance against the Broncos. I was the only one who said they could pull it off and with them responding to everything that Denver pulled out all game and then winning....Man, I've enjoyed the run so far!
Looking forward to Sunday!

Maybe this move helps us to go for BPA in the draft. I couldn't tell you what I think our biggest need is now, I just know I want to see a good O-lineman taken at some point.
