If this is Ozzie strategy, then the Jernigan trade would be a waste because you be almost going back to the same position which we were before the trade. Ozzie should not trade back in the 3rd round or this trade is a waste.

By going back we get extra 4th or 5th pick. So it won't be the same like we re at 99.

What a dumb move! What a horrendous trade. A player that is very likely to ball out in a contract year was traded for a swapped pick.

Trying to make patriot like deals yet we aren't really getting squat.

    I was thinking about a dumb move too but after thinking about it make sense too. Here is why;

1- Timmy is at the end of his contract. So we might lose next year. Now people will say well we would have get a comp for him. Here is the thing, next year we will have more cap space. Thus the FO is thinking about next year move. Maybe we will sign more players than we lose in next year free agency. So getting some thing for him now in this defensive loaded draft is smart.

2-There was report that Timmy was not happy with his playing time. So he might have some issue with the coach staff. So better to move from him.

So see my points why it is a good move.

I was half way ok when it was Claiborne but this is just annoying.Brandon Carr is not a good player.

I've already put it here yesterday, but hey: last season Carr covered Odell beckham, AJ Green, Mike Evans and Golden Tate for most of a total of 5 games, and he allowed a total of 1 TD on these games - and even that wasn't really on him, but blown coverage of the safety. He covered OBJ in 6 games and never allowed a 100-yard game for him.

Sounds like good enough for me.

Also, you don't play 144 games in the NFL if you're "not a good player"...

and add the number of TD that Shareece allow last year.
This is definitely an upgrade to the secondary. Not said that Carr is better than Jimmy but PFF had Carr rate higher than Jimmy. So we are good now in the secondary. 2 more CBs in the draft to add them to Canady for depth.

  4. I would like to see the Ravens get Jabril Peppers. He can play safety or inside linebacker. I watched him at the combine and he was definitly the leader of all the DBs. Not only in ability but he just assumed the leadership roll. That's something we could use in a young guy.

He is a player maker. If he can play CB, I will draft him. We can use him as a nickel corner and push Young outside, or we can play 3 safeties package with both Peppers and T Jefferson been able to play linebacker. This will confuse the hell out of a lot of offensive.
I think if Barnett, Taco, M.Williams or Cook are not there at 16, I would not mind trading back and get Peppers with additional 2nd/3rd pk.

Maybe not. Don't be surprised if Ozzie decides to go with Urshel to start the season. Not saying it's a great idea but releasing Zuttah and not being in the Mangold dealings as of yet, says that they may use in house or wait to see who shakes out when cuts start .

So, our current O line would be Stanley, Jensen, Urschel, Yanda and Lewis - with Hurst and 3 potted plants as backups.

Ozzie better be up to something.

I think more like; Stanley- Lewis- Elflein (rookie draft)- Yanda - Hurst, Use Urshel, Jensen and Skura as a back up plan to Center and Guard , Nemobot and DeOndre back up to Tackles. Still have to look hard at
    Pughsley and Broxton.

Time to get a top Center from the Draft. Elflien or Pocic are both really good Centers.
Sandwiched between possibly the 2 best guards in the NFL will be the key.

Jay Guillermo in Day 3 could be a nice project behind Mangold. So that way we can use our 99th pick in the 3rd on a OT/C.
I like Jay Guillermo a lot, especially his performance against Alabama in the NCAA championship. He just need to work in his blocking in run game. He has a good pass protection skills.

  6. I hope we have a good plan because now we do not have any depth on the line. Vlad, Wagner, and Zuttah are gone. We need to pick up some decent guys to protect Joe in the offensive trenches.

yes we have a plan. That is what the FO said at the end of the season, they will upgrade the OLine. Last year, our OLine was horrible. Not sure why people are panicking when we lost Wagner and Zuttah. We needed change in our OLine anyway. FO will find replacements. Also we have one of the best OLine coaches on the team,Joe D'Alessandris. So getting few OLs in the draft and the in-house young OLs won't be a bad option. Harbaugh said that the Ravens will build the best offensive line in the league and I believe it. This is just a start.

  7. What Ju Ju Smith in second round and get a pass rusher in 1st rd ( Barnett, Taco) or trade back for Tim Williams? Then CB in 3rd round if we sign Clairborne. I really don t want us to spend another 1st rd on a WR. We are a defensive team first. I rather want us to take Cook than a WR. I still have faith on Breshad to be a number 1 WR. Let give him another chance first.

Our run defense is good now. We need to fix our pass defense. That mean pass rusher and CB. If we had a solid pass defense, in 2014 we will have beat the Pats in playoffs and last year we will have beaten the Steelers.

That's expensive for a guy with no pass rush ability. Man oh man

NFL is not only a passing league. You did to stop the run too. Did you see Steelers Vs Miami wild card game. They went one drive only Bell to a TD. Miami couldn t stop him. Yes this is a passing heavy league but you need to stop the run too. This is a great move. Next we will be able to sign Mosley. The cap will increase next year too. Also Jimmy and Flacco will get their cap number reduced. The ravens plan for long term.

Yeah, Garçon got 16M his first year so that was out of the question but Marshall l thought they could get. All

    well.

Marshall would have been a good addition. I don t see us getting Jeffery. Maybe our possesion wr will be from draft or maybe we will move either Waller or Pitta at WR.

shareece and kendrick have been released

I think that is a good news. It means that FO is making cap space for some moves in free agency. Maybe some of our free agents want to take the ravens deal after talking to other interested teams or Ozzie is getting ready to go after other free agents. The next 72 hrs will be very interested.

    I'm dreaming a little but...

    Let Bwill walk

    Resign Wagner

Let juice walk. Dixon is just as versatile 🤞

    Sign Marshall

    Sign Hightower

    Draft a CB round 1

    Draft a Rusher round 2

Sign Mangold or draft a big C Round 3

    Draft a S round 3

    BPA rest of the draft

Question is, do we realistically have the cap space for those 3 guys and does the draft board set up in a way that makes this possible. The Hightower signing is probably a stretch.

1-Restructure/extend Dummervil, Pitta, Wallace and Webb to a lower cap contract.

2-Let go Shareece, Lewis, Zuttah, Arlington, Power, Watson

3- Sign Juice, Wagner, Guy let Brandon walks.

4- Sign B Marshall, Center Mangold and a cut veteran CB ( those won t count against compensatory picks)

5- Drafts: 1st rd : Barnett/Cook/Jamal/ Hooker if not available trade back for Tim Williams/ best available CB/ pass rusher. 2nd rd: best available CB/Safety

3rd rd: again best available DB, and Center for pick 99th. Then the rest of the picks can be used for depth.

After that we will watch the ravens play next february at US Bank Stadium, Minneapolis.

Realistically, there are only a handful of absolutely can't miss prospects at 16. excluding unrealistic options, For me, they are:

Malik Hooker, Jamal Adams, Reuben Foster, Mike Williams, Fournette, Derek Barnett, Sidney Jones and Marshon Lattimore.

Cook and Davis are borderline can't miss. But it depends on the offers made to trade back.

Its in our best interest to land plug and play stud starters and to acquire as many picks inside the first four rounds. Any of he above players I would trade up 3-4 spots at the cost of a third rounder to get because I think each one is a likely pro bowl/ All-pro waiting to happen.

But if that list is cleared. Let's trade back and I wouldn't even be mad if we did it twice inside the first two rounds to acquire an additional second or a couple of extra third rounders. If we have 4-6 picks in the top 100 picks in this class, we are likely coming into September ready to make some noise.

At the end of the first there will be a lot of likely talent still sitting there like Gareon Conley, Cam Robinson, Dan Feeney, Budda Baker, Haason Reddick, Tim Williams, Sean McCaffrey, etc.

we then would have the chance to combine a lot of talent in the second through the third with the trade back. Having the chance to nab talents like Jourdan Lewis, Carl Lawson, Desmond King, Kevin King, Pat Eiflein, Tyler Orlosky, Rasul Douglas, D'onta Foreman, Jabrill Peppers, etc.

I think I ll put Cook in the list and take Malik Hooker off the list. My only issue with him is that he only has one year as starter under his belt. That could be a bit gambling. However  if none of those guys in your list are there, I would love us to move back and get more 2nd/3rd/4th picks. There is a lot of depth in this year draft. I also won't mind trading some of our TEs for more picks.

Well, this year, with so many needs on the team, if Ozzie sticks with his "best player available" mantra, we should pick up a quality player/starter in a position of need anyway by default. :)

Honnestly i think we don' t have many needs. We only need to fix our pass defense( DB and pass rusher) and upgrade our OL. Other than that we can get playmaker at skill positions.

Wagner is set to be one of those free agents who excels in Baltimore but goes out and does not do very well with other teams. In adiition, he is just a right tackle, no one will pay him to play left tackle and if they do they are making a huge mistake. In 2015 Wagner was a dumpster fire and now he is the second rated tackle. I guess they are looking at just one year because Wagner was less than impressive quite consistently before last year. Same with Juszczyk. Where I feel we underutilized his talents here in Baltimore, blocking fullbacks can be a dime a dozen and since we failed to use him to his best abilities, we are only loosing a blocking back with a sometime catch. Williams is the only one worth fighting for but with PIerce, his loss is minimized somewhat.

Let me add my opinion on cuts as well. I would hold onto everyone we have except for Webb, Arrington and Lewis. Dumervil, Pitta and Wallace need to stay.

I agree but i think we should keep Webb. I think the team will be better if we have Webb, Pitta, Wallace and Dumervill at reduced price. That is going to be the front office job. If they can keep them and free some space to sign Juice and either Brandon or Wagner then that will be a great job. After than we can fill the rest of our need in free agency and draft.

2014 was too long ago to have it as your expectation for a 33 year old situational player. ravens dont need more pass rushers, they need better ones, and dumervil hasn't been good enough.

Ok but are you sure the pass rusher that will drafted will be good? Are you sure that Judon and Z.Smith will be better next year? That is why you need Dum at reduced price in the team. When healthy, he is our best pass rusher after Suggs. He is a proven pass rusher and has only been bad because of injury. Even while injuried, he still has a better sack number than all of our young pass rushers. If he takes a pay cut, he will help the team. If cut he will be good in another team. We need Dum, Webb, Pitta and Wallace at reduced prise. They still have things to give to the team and help develop the young kids in the team.

I really hope ravens dont hold on to dumervil. he is a pure pass rusher and ravens need a new do-it-all outside linebacker like suggs is. his cap hit is way too high for a guy who only plays on 3rd downs and hasn't been productive enough lately(9 sacks in 2 years). unless he takes a significant pay cut, the ravens shouldn't keep him

That is what i said, he come back on a reduced price. We need pass rusher, depth too. Dum has proven he is very good when healthy, remember 2014 season? So we can use him while our young pass rusher developped and get used to NFL. The more pass rushers we have the better. We all know the weakest of our D, CB and pass rushers. We get loaded on those then our D will top 3 in the league.

  17. I think Dum, Webb, Pitta and Wallace will be back with reduce price, minimun impact on the cap space. Then the rest of the people on the list will be release. With that we can still have over $30 Mil on cap space to sign Brandon, Juice and maybe Wagner. I honestly believe Wagner is gone. With that money will sign Garcon and a CB.

With the first 4 picks through rd 3,we can select a pass rusher, CB, center, guard/ tackle. If we get a guard then Alex Lewis will play RT. It think we will be a better team next year. Ozzie and co have a lot of work to do this off-season. This is a very crucial off season.

Well Perriman really played only one year and never had a full training camp yet.So if you don't want to judge Stanley yet, then let not judge Perriman yet.
Merryjman was right on point. How could you blame Ozzie? Point me some GMs who had done better than him. Ozzie only first rd bust recently was Elam.
How can you said Mosley is just good. 2X probawler in the last 3 yr. Also forget about the early rd picks or late rd picks. It is all about how many good starter who get from a draft. Ozzie and our staffs have been master in that domain. Give the man credit

I'm not the one judging those two, I'm suggesting both Stanley and Perriman are too early to tell having each only played one season. Go back and look at what I responded to.

"How can I said Mosley is just good?" Because he's a liability in coverage at times. In 2015 he was specifically targeted by QBs because he couldn't cover over the middle well. He's a good run stopping ILB with below avg coverage skills. He's a good pick. He could be great but he's not there yet. I didn't say he was a bust, I like him a lot and it was a good pick.

Don't use the pro bowl like it means something. Zuttah made the pro bowl this year.

How many INTs CJ had in coverage this year? Compare that number to CBs then you will see if he is bad in coverage.

    1

  19. Call me a dreamer if you like, but I have strong feeling that we will get a lot pleasant surprises this off season, hint Alshon Jeffery, Pierre Garçon, Brandon Marshall, CB Trumaine Johnson, Gilmore, Boyle, trade for Harden. Also we will sign Wagner and Juice. We will give a cheaper, cap friendly contract to Doom, Web, Pitta and Wallace. Then the draft will be so nice to us. I know the FO is under pressure and I know they will react well. Last year they were under pressure about missing on draft picks, but what a reaction it was, Stanley, Lewis, Young, Dixon, Jutton and more to come, Kaufusy, Canady, Henry. Let wait and see. I have faith on this organization.
