I rarely blamed coaches in the past but this season is a prime example of how poor coaching can cause loses. They all seemed to take turns in deciding the outcomes too. Some games Harbaugh didnt take points when he probably should have, other times the OC couldn't figure out the best run/pass balance and then there were the blown leads where the DC played scared instead of sticking with what worked the first 3 quarters. It was a group effort by our coaching staff.

You have to remember Joe technically should have spend the first half of the season rehabing. He busted his butt during the offseason at the castle to try and be ready by September and I think he accomplished that. What lagged into the first half of the season was his mental conditioning. You could see him playing scared when he would get rid of the ball due to "phantom" pressure. I think he is back now and will be on a mission next year to make up for lost time.

We didnt have a choice but even if we did I'd still take Stanley over Ramsey. There is a reason Tackles consistently are drafted in the top 5 year after year. Didnt we lose every game stanley was out for? Thats an impact player. Franchise LT, check! We also managed to actually choose one that can play. Many, many top 5 LT's end up playing guard or not at all. Stanley was a great choice and I for one am glad he os a Raven.

Sorry mom but 8-8 or 9-7 is the definition of mediocre. You are what your record says you are. We will get em next year.

We will see if the coaches are all talk when they say they will play this last game to win. Nobody expects the players to lie down and lose on purpose but it they sit Flacco and a few other starters that is the same thing. We will see. I expect them to sit as to not risk injury. If it ends up being a loss and a better draft slot then all the better. The season is over people.

People need to stop acting like this was a win and you're in game. We still would have had to beat cincy in cincy the next week. It was entirely possible we would beat pit in prime time and then lose to the bengals and miss the playoffs. Pit is not going to the browns. This isnt the same as the Lee evans drop.

I think you mean Center and left guard once Alex moves to replace Wagner at right tackle. Left Tackle is locked down for years to come

Totally forgot about Leslie Frazier! He did a great job with the secondary this season. Looking at his career he seems to jump teams every year or two. Thats not a great characteristic. Whats his deal?

I know. No one ever wants rex back. But Pees is just too good at losing games with weak 4th quarter play calling and there are not a ton of other options out there. Unfortunately he may still be our best option meaning nothing will change next year. What do you think about Norv? I was pulling for him in 2014 before we hired Gary. Boy was I wrong there! Loved having Kubiak running our offense. Like Gary, Norv is very good working with quarterbacks and I think Flacco really responds well to that type of mentorship.

Harbaugh is still one of the better head coaches in the league. Our play calling is what has been absolutely killing us. Norv Turner at OC and Rex Ryan at DC?

Ummmmm...the Ravens are currently 8-7. If they win next week they will have a winning record at 9-7. If they lose they will have an even record at 8-8. Dont get ahead of yourself 😀 And it's not as simple as saying "one spot". With a casual glance I see 9 teams that could end with an 8-8 record. I didnt take the time to look at if any of them are playing each other this week or how the draft positions would work out but losing this game would surely affect our draft possition by more than 1 spot. So yes we should start that now.

I understand the January Joe mantra and hold the belief myself that the Ravens are a team to fear in the playoffs every year but this team is just not there. We have a QB that is still not fully healed and confident, an OC that doesn't understand how a balanced attack is beneficial, a top 5 defense except for when they play top 10 offenses and a DC that consistently gives away games in the forth quarter by going into prevent instead of just continuing to do what has worked for the first 3 quarters. I am really starting to think that Harbaugh cant win without Ray and Ed. We willed ourselves to the SB in 2012 on flacco's arm and Ray and Ed's passion. We finished a sloppy 8-8 in 2013. Went to the Divisional round in 2014 thanks to Kubiaks system and fell on our faces in 2015 mostly due to injuries but every team has them. Hopefully they can right the ship next season.

You do realize the entire draft process is a gamble and ozzie IS one if the best at it right? Its rediculous to play the what if game. As far as ajayi and dixon are concerned I wouldnt be surprised if ajayi is a backup in a few years and dixon our starter. Dont get me wrong he had a great half a season but history is full of guys who had one great season before flaming out. Peyton Hillis comes to mind. To me he just has that feel. Dixon could to but to me he feels like a ray rice type guy who will just get better and better every season. Rice had a very quiet rookie season and then exploded the following year.

No reason to let pride and ego get in the way of logic. This game would be better lost so we get a better draft pick. Everyone wants to just win the game in december but come april we always seem to wish we were a position or two ahead in the draft. The only person who needs a win here is Harbaugh so he can keep another losing/even season off of his resume. Just my opinion of course.

I don't understand why you were downvoted. One needs to simply look at Matt Elam and his decision to work at foot locker his rookie offseason instead of working on his football career as an example. What was he thinking and who is advising these young men? Waste of a first rounder if you ask me. Waste of talent too. Like most things in this world, some people work harder, longer to improve and get ahead while others are happy to just stay the same. I think he thought getting drafted was the end and not the beginning.

Tough loss for sure but barring a miracle 2012 like playoff run this team was doubtful to make much noise in January. We have a bunch of veterans that probably wont be back next year and a bunch of promising young guys with a season under their belt. Joe didnt look like he felt comfortable until a week or so ago. Stanley is set to be a beast next year. We need to replace a few weak links in the secondary. Maybe we can land Norm at OC. He would be good for Joe. All in all we played better than last season and look set to make some real noise next year. Cant win them all and if we can once again be a perinial playoff team with only 2 down seasons that would be something most teams can only dream of. Go Ravens!

I totally agree. I would pay to watch the Ravens and Orioles live online without thinking twice. I already pay for game pass but its not very enjoyable watching after 8 or the next day. Sunday afternoon just has its own feel. I get what you're saying about WBAL. Just wish I still lived in range for that signal.

With dipping ratings the NFL should get their heads out of their butts and air this game on network tv so everyone can watch it. I cut the cord years ago and the NFL is the only thing that I am interested in that still doesnt get where the future of broadcasting is. I'll give you a hint, it isnt paying for cable or satellite. With nfl viewership dropping I wonder if nfl network, espn and pay tv in general is experiencing viewership rates dropping as well? That would tell the tale.

Lets just hope Harbaugh is not involved in the OC hiring process. The only OC that Harbs didnt choose was Kubiak. Proving once and for all that he had no clue how to judge coaching talent. Harbaugh is a fine head coach but he needs to have his hand held if we want to have sustained success.

I'm sure most of you don't care but I just found out that the xmas game will only be on nfl network. I am currently out of the area and dont have nfl network. So the game I've been waiting all year for will not be available to me. I have game pass but waiting until Monday to watch sucks. This is a huge reason that my intrest in the NFL has faded. To greedy to broadcast big games nationwide. I have lived and breathed football for 30 years but seriously doubt I will watch next year. Count me as one more fallen fan. How much money is enough for the NFL? I can tell you a dynasty dies slowly so they never see it coming.

What should be painfully obvious to Steve is that Harbaugh should have nothing to do with hiring the next OC. The only OC that was NOT hired by Hatbaugh was Kubiak. He doesnt have the ability to make the correct hire and thats ok as long as the Ravens stop letting him do so after so many failed attempts. They say that the definition of insanity is making the same mistakes over and over again and expecting different results. This team is insane. Everything from the refusal to run the ball or allowing John to make personnel decisions and then we hear the same excuses afterward. Its crazy. I wonder if John is even aware he is doing it? Every after game press confronted sounds the same. Crazy

Hilarious. I read earlier in a Miami board that their fans thought NE would let the dolphins win in order to avoid DEN getting the WC. People are so funny. Teams don't throw games. They want to win every single one of them
