  1. If this were true there wouldn't be a need for a PR department. I can assure you someone from the ravens organization monitors these boards and reports fan sentiment back to a superior. All corporations and politicians have to keep their constituents happy otherwise they will suffer professionally. For whatever reason, this past season was the one that made me lose all faith in Joe Flacco. It may have something to do with realizing he is going into his 10th season and I continue to hear what others need to do to make him successful. Anyway, I don't have season tickets but usually find a way to attend a few games each year, buy sunday ticket and buy merchandise when the mood strikes. Last season I did none of it. I also used to record 4 daytime games and the night game every sunday. I basically binge watched football for 10 hours every sunday and watched thursday and monday nights. Last season I barely made the effort to watch the Ravens play. I am not some fly by night fan. I was raised in MD, am 40 years old and have watched football so long I can remeber the colts games at memorial. It pains me to say but I am losing interest. I am still interested as is obvious by me being on this board and hopefully next season will be different. It's hard to be interested in a team where the team leader and qb dont seem to be too interested themselves. Most fans in my possition just fade away and you never hear why. I am just expressing my opinion. I want to stay a fan but it's getting harder.
  2. The tax argument is only valid for the 8 home games players have. NFL players have to file taxes in each of the 8 states their away games are in each year. It's not where you live but where you earn the income that determines who collects taxes.
  3. I think I heard somewhere that we have the largest coaching staff in the NFL. Could that be part of our problem? Too many opposing viewpoints. It will be interesting to see how a heavy run guy like Roman will work with a pass heavy guy like Marty. If they have any chemistry it could be a thing of beauty but I would think the most likely outcome will be fustration with each other until one leaves. Hope I am wrong
  4. I hear this a lot and have to say that with this logic, we won the SB thanks to Cam Cameron's offense. If Marty bears no responsibility for our losses last season then Caldwell can take no credit for our SB win. I'm open to hearing a logical explanation as to why this is wrong.
  5. It's probably hoping for too much but wouldn't it be great if Corea is able to fill the void left by Orr and Bronson K came back from IR ready to make some noise. At some point we are going to get production from more than a couple players in a draft class and I have a good feeling about the 2016 draftees.
  6. I'm really not trying to be an alarmist but the way I see our roster is this: Offense: QB - set RB - I am fine with what we have but so many feel we could use an upgrade TE - I am fine with what we have but so many feel we could use an upgrade WR - Need to replace SSS and maybe Aiken Oline - Need to replace Zuttah and maybe Wagner and add bigger stronger depth Defense: Safety - Webb needs to be upgraded CB - Need upgrade opposite Jimmy and possibly another quality addition to back up jimmy when he misses games as he does MLB - need to replace Orr OLB - need more pass rush Oline - there will most likely be a drop off in production if Williams goes so we will need to try and help Pierce and maybe Davis if they are not up to the task. So thats every group but QB, RB and TE. I know we have young draft picks that should be able to fill some of these voids but the FO doesnt speak about them with confidence. I think we will field a respectable team next season but it will be a surprise if they can fill all of those weaknesses. I also have high hopes that Maxx will have a big year after setting rookie TE records last year. And our draft picks from last year may also contribute in a possitive way taking some of the pressure off the FO.
  7. I hope you are right because I can see some other team overpaying Wagner and Alex Lewis moving to RT. That might leave us looking for 2 OLineman in the draft. Also FA but whoever is available may not be as good as what we are letting go if Zuttah and Wagner are gone. Why does it feel like we have major needs at every possition but QB, RB and TE? Ozzie has some work to do this year.
  8. The problem is it is a bad year for OL in the draft and FA isn't going to be much better. Without options we are limited as to what we can do without signing Wagner. In other words, we will get what we pay for.
  9. Man I hope Wagner gets signed. If he leaves and Flacco has another bad year this will be the excuse we hear all season. Of course if he stays and flacco has a bad year it will be Marty's fault so pick your poison.
  10. Do you think that everyone else is drafting probowlers every round of every draft? Every team has more misses than hits and that includes the early rounds. Thats how it works. There are easily 15-20 other teams that would kill to have Ozzie as their GM 😀
  11. For me ideally we keep Wallace on his current contract and hope Perrimann has a good developmental year and can replace wallace in 2018. No more extending players only to resent them later please. Trying to recreate the past seldom works and I have a feeling having Torrey back in bmore would be a let down for the team and it's fans. If Marshall becomes available we should go at him hard. Marshall, Wallace, Perriman, (Campanero) would be a decent line up. Moore is all ready a difference maker on st and could progress as a wr moving forward. Maybe they push Waller back into the WR group if Camp is not brought back? No room for him as a TE.
  12. I believe the play you are referring to had offsetting face mask penalties from both players so the refs likely let it slide.
  13. Fans also need to wake up to the fact that the Dolphins had 10 wins this year. Jets had 10 wins last year. Bills had 9 in 2014 and so on. It's not like the pats are playing the browns 6 times a year. Other teams in the AFCE are competitive. They just aren't as good as the Pats. In fact since 2008 the Patriots have a 13-6 record against the AFCN and only 1 of those games was against the browns. So they beat the Ravens, Steelers and Bengles 2 out of every 3 times they play them. I would guess that is inline with their win percentage in their own division. Oh and I apologize for sticking up for the patriots. I hate them but facts are facts and I believe we as a team and fan base can not get better by continuing to stick our heads in the sand and blame our problems on others.
  14. The true dictionary definition of choking is "to lose ones composure and fail to perform effectively in a critical situation" No need to be so extreme to try and make your point by saying a team needs to have 95% chance of winning in order to qualify as choking Think of it this way, it's a tied game with no time left and Lebron gets fouled as the buzzer sounds. He has 2 shots to win the game and both are airballs. Did he choke?
  15. If there's one thing the Pats seem to be very good at it is making in game adjustments. Harbaugh's crew has never seemed to even try to make adjustments no matter who is calling the plays. Pats came out of halftime with If by choking you mean calling the wrong plays for the situation then you need to take the halks off of your list. They proved they also can choke on the biggest stage and to the pats no less. The Cowboys choked against the Packers just last month in a final game winning drive so they are off too. 2 years ago the Packers choked to the Seahawks after being up 16 at halftime in the championship game. So I guess its not any other team and the game is over huh?
  16. Break out the tin foil hats. I hear there's aliens in the Nevada desert too.
  17. Just proof that Bellicheck really is the best coach in the league. He finds a way to win while others find a way to lose. It pains me to say it but after that comeback last night he and Brady may be the greatest of all time. As much as I hate the patriots, we all watched something historic last night.
  18. I wonder if the ROI is really worth it for advertisers when so many fans dvr the games and fast forward through the commercials?
  19. So so sick of hearing this. No they were 1 win closer to reaching the playoffs. No one can logically say they would have beaten the Bengles. No one can honestly think that CIN would not have come to play if it meant ruining our season. And no one can honestly say, after how hot/cold Joe Flacco and the ravens have been over the past 10 years that they could not have collapsed in cincy. I would have hoped we would have won but so many fans have said this and it couldn't be more wrong.
  20. I like him too. Problem is the Ravens aren't very good at developing receivers so bringing in someone who is raw with upside would be a waste and I think Ozzie knows it. If available, my money would be on Marshall. Feels like a typical Ozzie signing. Plug and play
  21. It's really more of a national joke at this point so I don't mind it as much anymore. I don't think anyone actually thinks Flacco is elite. It was debated for so long and he has gotten worse. Thats the joke. Wasnt there even a sign at a political rally last year saying "Joe Flacco is Elite". No one is taking him seriously anymore.
  22. Ravens fans are living in the past. We are the below .500 team you speak of. Brandon Williams was drafted in 2013. He has only seen 2 playoff games in the 4 years he has been here. Granted they were an exciting 2 games but he hasnt tasted the same post season success as the pre SB Harbaugh team did. Why on earth would he take a home town discount for mediocrity?
  23. Ah I see my mistake is using the term "trade" when the comment I was rebuffing was (all you flacco bashers.... have absolutely no clue what youre talking about... I can easily say 15-20 teams WISH AND PRAYED TO GOD they can have someone Flacco under center) So my mistake. Please respond to my comments with this in mind. The poster stated 15-20 teams wished they "had" Joe Flacco. Not based in an argument where they would get him on the cheap due to a trade deal we could never realistically afford. His salary is the main issue that I have with him. If he was only 12m a year I would love to have him as my qb. How many teams would take Joe Flacco for his current contract. Thanks
  24. Again calling people dumb makes you sound uneducated. But I will take the bait. First, no way in the world would LA or Philly trade their new starting rookie QB for Flacco. Too much potential there. Same with Denver. It could be debated whether or not Joe is an upgrade over Mariota, Winston, Cousins, Palmer or Bradford. So that leaves the Jets, Dolphins, Bills, browns, Bears and 49ers. 6 teams that would for sure "wish and pray to god" as you said for Joe Flacco. Look, I know we are all passionate about out Ravens but there is a lot of valid criticism for Flacco and saying that almost 2/3 of the teams in this league would pray to have him is a little bit homer. I'd say a lot homer. Which you have every right to be as a fan.
  25. I can only say to you that statistics are all relative.
