  1. Coaching is the main variable with joe and how he plays. Conservative play calling he becomes an excellent game manager(cam). Aggressive play caller( Caldwell) had joe scratching that elite surface, same as with kubiak a great play caller who got more out of much less talent in 2014 than we did last year. Tressman was horrible and it showed with the level of play of joe and the entire offense, marty wasn't much better but was thrown in the fire midseason and gets a pass from me. Point I want to make is that the competency of the coaching goes a long way in how the offense looks on the field....fix the interior of the line and coach to the strength of the talent we have and offense should be fine. But this draft was all about improving a defense that struggled to hold on to leads in the 4th quarter for some time now and on paper it looks great for the most part....we lost at least 3 games last year because of the defense giving the lead up late including the game against the steelers that decided the north champion. Remember that feeling we would get anytime the d would get on the field late only needing 1 stop, hopefully this draft addressed that in a big way
  2. Shutdown corner in the 3rd really....And moving up a few spots will really make that difference??? Ravens should be looking for that corner in the 1st
  3. So you think giving up a player and a pick to move up a few spots is some type of deal??? Not to mention timmy was a 2nd round pick for us and 3 years later we get less than we spent to pick him and gave up a pick as well. The eagles have won this trade and it's obvious, what did they give up to gain a starter??? Even if you have to trade him (which they didn't) trade him for a pick no need for us to give a pick as well, I'm a big ozzie guy but he seems to be losing it
  4. Please tell me what that something was because I can't see it, we gave up a player and a pick to move up...and not just any player but a YOUNG STARTER IN A CONTRACT YEAR....only a great pick at 74 can salvage this one and even then the eagles still get something extra....look at it this way eagles gain proven starter and only swap draft positions, in the 3rd no less to get him it's a win for them regardless
  5. Wow thought your supposed to buy low and sell high??? Traded a 3rd plus TJ to move up in the same round...smh...we invested a 2nd on timmy just 3 years ago, he's a proven starter and in a contract year at age 24....that 3rd would've been a comp pick anyways if we didn't sign him next year. If that draft pick makes no impact this year then it's a loss, I'd much rather have a hungry starter hunting for that first big pay day then another pick
  6. The players had a near mutiny on harbaugh our superbowl year, the team was falling apart losing I think 5 of the last 7 with one of those wins being ray rices 4th and 29 conversion. So yes I think it's more than plausible to give the credit to Ray Lewis coming back and announcing his last ride got the guys more focused and motivated then these coaches ever could have... especially with the mood and tone of that lockeroom before he came back. Also harbaugh was FORCED to fire Cam Cameron because of the frustration with the offense and how conservative it was despite having plenty of weapons. Yes it was players who stepped it up coaching deserve some credit but make no mistake those players made it happen. If any coach you'd give a great deal of credit to it would be Caldwell who finally started being aggressive with the play calling.....McKinney getting out of haubaugh dog house was big to so give coach credit for putting his ego aside and getting out of the way
  7. Nfl is all about the signing bonus/ guaranteed money.....why worry about the number of years he played there when the bonus check has been cashed and he can seek another one now that he's a FA again
  8. Keeping a player that is top 3-4 at their position should be the priority...we must reverse this trend of losing all our good draft picks....guys get to their 2nd contract and playing prime years with other teams....Can't just let impact players just leave like that especially with our early round draft troubles these last few years
  9. Stop it stop it.....excuses is all people have for this man. He has played in only 2 offensive systems in his entire career....the playbook does not change, the terminology yes but they are the exact same plays every team uses....Flacco needs competent coaching to keep him engaged mentally in the game. As you stated the difference in Joe's play when conservative cam was calling plays and then Caldwell calling them. Kubiak comes in JOE has his best year as a pro...1st year in a NEW system....Flacco has all the physical gifts you'd want your QB to have but it's clear that he's not very cerebal, that's why he is coordinator dependent and his game takes on the personality of whoever is calling the plays. Whether that be conservative cam or open it up and let it go Caldwell
  10. Or you had a defense that wasn't fully healthy until the playoff run and played phenomenal during said run...corey graham in denver there is no superbowl run if he doesn't make those plays including a defensive touchdown....holding brady to 1 score in Foxborough is not something that an average defense does
  11. I notice even though they're clearly the best team in the league for a number of years they keep their top assistants....something ravens should think about
  12. I used to think this as well but the facts don't indicate this.... Brady has never lost to Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Jacksonville, Minnesota and Tampa Bay, combined 26-0 vs. those 6 teams. Vs. the AFC East: 66-20 (.767) Vs. the AFC North: 25-7 (.781) Vs. the AFC South: 33-6 (.846) Vs. the AFC West: 22-14 (.611) Vs. the NFC East: 14-5 (.737) Vs. the NFC North: 14-3 (.824) Vs. the NFC South: 13-3 (.813) Vs. the NFC West: 7-4 (.636)
  13. 1 division title in 9 years should be unacceptable....I agree with those who say 11 wins as the expectation, better coaching and we could've hit that mark this year....also can we please dominate somebody we dominated only 1 game this year every game we play shouldn't be so close, whether playing the jags/browns or upper echelon teams we always play the game close. I would like to see us DOMINATE teams were supposed too
  14. Young players need reps....torrey got reps, he dropped the ball a lot also early on but he was allowed to play through it and make plays to establish himself on this level. No training camp since being drafted has hurt perriman, also sss and Wallace are more established so there was no way he jumps above them on the depth chart. Perriman looks exactly like what the scouting reports in draft said he would so it should be no surprises there. The surprise to me was the changing of the scheme which would've suited perriman and Wallace better to one the required those guys to things that neither guy excels at.....
