  1. For what it's worth, Roethlisberger has a 9-8 won-loss record versus Baltimore in the regular season (6-5 since 2008 when Flacco became the QB), including 2-6 at Baltimore (2-4 since 2008) and a 2-1 record in the playoffs versus the Ravens, with all the games played at Pittsburgh. Flacco's regular season W-L is 8-7 versus the Steelers, including 4-3 at home, and, obviously, 1-2 on the road in the playoffs. During Roethlisberger's 17 games versus the Ravens, he went 326-545 (59.8%) for 3,906 yards, 27 TD, 18 INT, 7.17 AY/A, had an 84.5 QB rating, and was sacked 50 times. His average stat line roughly looks like 19-32 for 230 with almost 1.5 TD and 1 INT. In Flacco's 15 games he went 304 - 507 (60.0%) for 3,284 yards, 18 TD, 7 INT, 6.57 AY/A, had an 85.1 QB rating, and was sacked 42 times. His average line looks like 20-34 for 219 with 1 TD and .5 INT. In the playoffs, Roethlisberger's stat lines: 16-33, 255, 1, 0, 84.8 rating, W; 19-32, 226, 2, 0, 101.8, W; 31-45, 334, 1, 2, 79.3, L ... Flacco's stat lines: 13-30, 141, 0, 3, 18.2, L; 16-30, 125, 1, 1, 61.1, L; 18-29, 259, 2, 0, 114.0, W ...Raven losses were in 2008 & 2010, win was in 2014.
  2. I seriously doubt that. Could this be a case of someone who has made all the money he needs and just isn't driven. May be the thing that's in front of his mind is just to be able to go home to his kids. PREACH! This makes me laugh. I'm glad you "experts" are on the case and can decipher the difference between "Joe Cool", playoff asset for the Ravens, and "Joe Cool", um, he has his money and wants his wife and kids. There is no difference at all, except that the Ravens aren't winning as much. But you probably can read his mind...
  3. I seriously doubt that. Could this be a case of someone who has made all the money he needs and just isn't driven. May be the thing that's in front of his mind is just to be able to go home to his kids. PREACH! Yea and Ozzy should have Dilfered Joe after the sb. No but what has he done for us lately?! Triple " S " would have a SB but a very very very bad pass against the pats cost him that! A pass that "SHOULD NOT" been thrown and the numbers got worse and worse! Numbers don't Lie people do! Show some loyalty and some class. There are too many fair-weather fans in my book. "What has he done for us lately?!" Flacco at the very least helped win a Super Bowl for the Ravens and the city of Baltimore. The year before he was a dropped Lee Evans pass (& a missed Billy Cundiff FG) from going to another. The Ravens return to the playoffs in 2014, both games on the road, and they split, but Flacco's passer ratings were 114.0 & 92.1, he combines for 6 TDs & 2 INTs, and the offense puts up 30 & 31 points. The DEFENSE couldn't stop New England at all in that loss, 35-31. Do you know how many teams that haven't won a Super Bowl, or haven't won it in decades? How many teams that would be thrilled to just make the playoffs every now and then, make an appearance? The Cincinnati Bengals have lost their last seven (7!) playoff games and haven't won a playoff game since 1990! Come on, be better than this. Sure, Flacco hasn't been as good as we'd like him to have been the last couple of years (maybe if Perriman catches that perfectly thrown bomb for a TD in an earlier game or he gets his 2nd foot down in the end zone in the Redskin game...or Aiken or Wallace make tough catches on 4th down on perfectly thrown balls that ended drives and games...Mosley's fumble doesn't become a touchback...Jernigan doesn't try to advance a recovered fumble inside his own 5 and fumbles it away...all of these plays could have swung a game and made the season look a little better). But I don't think you can simply forget the playoff success, call it a fluke as some mistakenly do, and dump Flacco. That is ridiculous. "We shouldn't have let Tyrod Taylor get away!" (Taylor is 11-10 as a starter in Buffalo, no playoffs last year). "Oh, but Ryan Mallett should be playing!" (Mallett is 3-5 as a starting QB with 7 TD, 9 INT, 55 %, 66.2 QB rating for his career.)
  4. Let me ask you, 20306cab, if you were calling Flacco "Far Below Average Joe" during the playoff seasons of 2010, 2011, 2012, & 2014 (I left out his 1st two seasons when the Ravens had playoff wins but Flacco was certainly not the reason)? Let me refresh your memory with some statistics, some facts -- the Ravens played 10 playoff games in the 4 seasons I mentioned, going 7-3 (4-3 on the road, 2-0 at home, Super Bowl win in New Orleans); Flacco has a passer rating of 90.0+ in 9 of the 10 games, 100.0+ in 6 of the 10 games, he throws 24 TDs versus 4 INTs in the 10 games, going a combined 196-327 (60.0%) for 2,563 yards. Let me make it easy for you -- an average game for Flacco in the playoffs in those 4 years covering 10 games was about 20-33 for 256 yards and almost 2.5 TDs and .5 INT per game. (This is more in line with what the Ravens offense should be doing this season, not throwing 45 times a game...) I'm thinking that's not "Far Below Average." And if you come back with, "Well, what has he done these last two years!," I will ask you if you were cheering Flacco during those playoff runs. If you were then just be quiet, don't take the easy, "What have you done for me lately?" The Ravens had an excellent run, and Flacco was a big part of that. Show some loyalty and maybe just a little class.
  5. Because you obviously don't have a clue how an NFL (or any sports team) organization is structured. Position coaches like Castillo & Mornhinweg are rarely involved in the overall game planning (outside of their specific groups). That's like saying that the warehouse manager should know everything the CEO has already done..... What does john, a special team coach, know about running a team then? We seen what he could do with Ray now we're seeing what he can do without. Do you honestly believe Ray Lewis "coached" the Ravens to the playoffs every year that he and Harbaugh were together? Man, I love Ray as a Hall of Famer, an All-Timer, but I had no idea he ran the defense AND drew up the offense and called the plays, AND organized the special teams all at the same time! Wow, thanks, my admiration and respect for Ray Lewis has grown exponentially from learning this new information...
  6. I seriously doubt that. Could this be a case of someone who has made all the money he needs and just isn't driven. May be the thing that's in front of his mind is just to be able to go home to his kids. Really? You think Flacco doesn't care? He was praised for being "calm" when the Ravens were in the playoffs. But now the team isn't winning as much and that "calm" means he has his money and wants to go home to his kids. Yeah, I see your point...
  7. Please allow me to get off the track for a second. I know Joe Flacco has not played well the last couple of years, and certainly he must eat the last loss because of the two dreadul INTs. But I am so tired of the ill-informed fans who think that Joe "only had those four good games leading to the Super Bowl win." Do you remember the year before, the playoffs of 2011? In the two games played, Flacco combined for 4 TDs and 1 INT, with QB ratings of 97.1 and 95.4 in the two games. In the AFC Championship game that year AT New England, Flacco stats were 22-36 for 306, 2 TD, 1 INT; Brady went 22-36, 239, 0 TD, 2 INT (at home, remember?)...and Flacco threw a certain perfect pass to Lee Evans, who couldn't hold on for what would have been the game-winning TD and a trip to the Super Bowl the year BEFORE we won the Super Bowl. But Evans doesn't hold on, and then Billy Cundiff does his thing and misses the kick, and no overtime, either. Ravens miss the playoffs in 2013, but return to the playoffs in 2014; first game is AT Pittsburgh. Flacco goes 18-29-259, 2 TD, 0 INT,QB rating of 114.0; Roethlisberger goes 33-48-356, 1 TD, 2 INT, and the Ravens win, 30-17. You decide who had the better day; oh, the Raven running game was non-existent with 25 rushes for 53 yards. Divisional Round is next, again on the road, again at New England. Flacco goes 28-45 for 292, with 4 TD and 2 INT; Brady goes 34-51 for 418, with 4 TD and 1 INT. The Ravens were up 28-14 in the 3rd quarter, and end up losing 35-31. I will admit Flacco threw a bad INT late in this but I also remember the defense not being able to stop Brady and the Pats at all once the score was 28-14; it was constantly one long drive after another after another when one stop would have won that game. Flacco's QB rating in this game was 92.1. My only point is quit with the Joe "Fluke-o" talk I hear too much of. Look at how closely the Ravens came to possibly being in two consecutive Super Bowls. Flacco has been, not just good good, but outstanding in the playoffs, and most of the time on the road. He has often played better than, or at least as well as, Brady and Roethlisberger when facing them in the playoffs. And, truth be told, if some of Flacco's passes had been caught this year (the bomb to Perriman in the Redskin game dropped --should have been a TD; Perriman could have gotten his second foot in-bounds for a game-winning TD [where are the acrobatic catches we fans see on ESPN from around the league; anybody helping Flacco out?!]; the game-ending fourth down throws where Flacco puts it right where it has to be when driving for a game-winning FG but Aiken and Wallace can't make the tough catch [granted, Wallace took a pop, but it's the NFL, and again, I see this catch made elsewhere around the league], things might look a little different. But I know Flacco hasn't played well; he has to play better, they all do. But what if C.J. Mosley doesn't fumble that ball into the end zone for a touchback in the Redskin game and the defense doesn't allow them to go down and score; how does that game turn out? What if Timmy Jernigan doesn't try to advance the fumble he recovered inside his own 5-yard line and then fumbles it right back to the Jets? How does that game turn out? What if Jimmy Smith on 4th and 5 in the Giant game actually covered Victor Cruz instead of standing 8 yards off the line of scrimmage and then backing up, enabling Cruz to catch a 10 yard pass, on 4th and 5! What if Lardarius Webb actually took a good angle to cut off a receiver running with the ball in the open field instead of the ridiculous angles we have seen him take these last two games when Odell Beckham and Quincy Enunwa have broken free and he is the last line of defense...anybody see Webbie make a tackle lately?! Sorry, I digress...
