Let's go. Love this draft.
Hell yeah

Correct

Your reasoning?
4 minutes ago, 808Blackbirds said:plus they are both different types of safety anyways. i just like what eddie brings.
Take away his return skills and he brings nothing any other FS doesn't, besides less physicality.
Just now, 808Blackbirds said:he's falling cause he broke his leg mid season.
He is right where he should be
1 minute ago, 808Blackbirds said:before he broke leg he was better than adams
No, just no.
Just now, 808Blackbirds said:blame me for what? just cause i like a great player makes him overhyped?
Dude. Chill the heck out. "I cant blame you" is a saying, which means that you are justified in your thinking. Everyone has a draft crush and he is yours, that's it. Also, he isn't a "great player". There is a reason like a dozen safeties have been taken and he is still on the board. He just isn't that good. You are very much overhyping him, you said you liked him better than Jamal Adams for crying out loud.
6 minutes ago, allblackraven said:I don't buy into that argument too much, front 7 also relies on guys to cover at the back.
Jackson definitely has room to improve but he's been a safety for just 2 seasons, after playing WR in high school and CB in his first season in college. The only real knock on him for me is physicality but he'd have time to improve on that while learning from the master.
Bama's front 7 relies on no one. His job was just way too easy. I don't think his film shows great instincts at all, decent at best. Put him in a tougher situation and he wouldn't look nearly as good as he did at Alabama, and to me he didn't look that great to begin with. Take away his return skills and it would be quite a while before his name was called. He does have some upside, but I really don't see him excelling in the NFL beyond being a return man for reasons I already stated. But I'm no scout so what do I know.
19 minutes ago, 808Blackbirds said:yea and the ravens do have a dominate front 7..
I wouldn't say we have a dominant front 7 at all. Lots of question marks.
5 minutes ago, 808Blackbirds said:nope not bama fan.
just a fan of eddie. i wanted him last year
Oh I gotcha, we all have our draft crushes. Cant blame ya
13 minutes ago, 808Blackbirds said:Why cause he can cover and hes a playmaker that can score. even before the leg break i liked him over jamal adams. oh well if i overhyped him. Hes still a great player
Either you are an Alabama fan or...
@allblackraven If you want to see incredible instincts watch Lorenzo Jerome. Ridiculous ball skills. The knock on him is he is from a small school and a little small, but he played great at the senior bowl and NFLPA game. He is also a great kick returner.
2 minutes ago, allblackraven said:Great instincts and nose for the ball and better hands than most WRs (he was one before Saban turned him into DB). Range to cover over the top and in the middle. Deadly returner. Improved a lot in physical part of the game / tackling. Lines up secondary. Team captain.
He is a good returner. However he was fortunate enough to play with a dominate front 7 and which made his life very easy. I wouldn't say great instincts, id say average. Numerous interceptions of his were handed right to him due to terrible throws (thanks to the front 7). Loses track of his coverage responsibilities as he tries too hard anticipating the QB. Still needs improvement in the physical part of his game. Its really just one of those situations where the surrounding cast makes the player look so much better than he really is.
2 minutes ago, 808Blackbirds said:how is he overhyped? he's still on the board..
I meant overhyped by the this board.
1 hour ago, allblackraven said:There's one very good available, safety Eddie Jackson. I'm not religious but I will pray we take him with our 1st pick day 3.
Define very good...because our definitions must be very different. He is overhyped.
3 hours ago, 808Blackbirds said:Go to bama again and get the next ed reed.
Eddie Jackson!
Please tell me this is a joke. He will be a decent NFL backup, maybe a good returner, but nothing more.
Lorenzo Jerome needs to be this years Ravens small school pick. This kid is so good, great replacement for Weddle when he is finished.
8 minutes ago, Sami84 said:yeah, quite frankly, watching za'darius smith try to pass rush is painful..
To be fair, ZDS coming out of college wasn't expected to be anything great. More of a depth 4-3 DE
2 hours ago, rossihunter2 said:never heard that about adams and i thought the mcdowell effort criticisms were harsh... but yeah - lots of dlinemen being accused of low effort
I mean if I was McDowell and the only one on my team that could generate consistent pressure I'd definitely take some breaks out of frustration lol
Words can not express how excited I am.
3 minutes ago, Dewy101 said:Really feel bad for Carl Lawson whoever takes him is going to get a beast as long as he can stay healthy
It's obvious by now that his injury concerns are a lot worse than expected.
Honestly I think our WR core will be better than people think. Can't forget about Chris Matthews, he's a real dark horse along with Chris Moore. Throw in a healthy Campanaro and all the TEs to throw to in the red zone, and I feel pretty good.
Just now, cobrajet said:Maybe, but I have not been impressed at all.
He wasn't impressive last season with all his drops. What I should've said is the Ravens must be high on him. Maybe he has come a long way this offseason and is looking really impressive.
