I am in the minority I guess in that I don't think any of the big three are *terrible *.
I am giving them the benefit of that doubt that at some point in time between now and August they will sit down and analyze their strengths and weaknesses. I think there will be more than a few brainstorming sessions over the summer.
Bottom line is, John Harbaugh knows more about being a coach in the NFL than anybody here. He might not run things the way many of us would, but he has the right to run things the way he wants. It seems he has earned it.
I agree that none of them are terrible. I feel that if Marty would make a few changes he can be a decent OC. Dean isn't a bad DC either, however, he lacks the ability to make strong adjustments as the game goes on and somehow disappears in the 4th.
14 minutes ago, balfan23 said:But why did we look like a bottom 5 defense for the last 4 games of the season?
I'm sorry. I was really excited about our D through the early going, but even then, if we'd take a lead, we'd give it up or allow things to get really scary. Then they flat out disappeared. The defense in 2016 was a tease and then disappointed big time. It is valid to be asking questions as to why this is happening, because the late game issues have been with us for years.
Exactly what I mean.
1 hour ago, Tru11 said:that top 10 defense is the only reason we where in the position to finish games.
without that top 10 defense games would have been over before entering the 4th quarter....
But after entering the 4th quarter is a whole other story
7 minutes ago, redrum52 said:Exactly.
I fully acknowledge yhey fell apart the last 4-6 weeks, but do people think he somehow told the DL to stop defending the run? Without the defense we most likely start 0-6 against some very suspect competition.
Please tell me why the defense performing well for the first half of the season has any relevancy right now. They did not show up at all for the most part the last month or so and that's inexcusable. I'm tired of Pees prevent us from winning defense.
1 minute ago, Tru11 said:makes little sense to fire a DC who had a top 10 defense lol
Being a top 10 defense means nothing if you can't finish games.
27 minutes ago, ravensdfan said:We all know that old definition of insanity right? But yeah, keep Pees and watch your defense fold consistently when it matters late in games. Please.
Better give the offense all the love because, as I stated before, this offense is going to have to put up 30 or better every game with Pees' brand of defense.
I kind of get retaining Marty, he did not have an entire season after all. But Pees has proven over his 5 seasons he is not the answer.
At least we're interviewing for a QB coach.
I was hoping Pees would retire, as I knew John wouldn't make the move to get rid of Pees himself.
How do you feel?
9 minutes ago, BmoreRavens732 said:You know I've understood that! Aiken being pretty much "the guy" cause everyone else went down. That's true! But when called upon he proved he can get it done. Teams knew aiken was pretty much all we had. They watch film and should be able to point out that Aiken's our biggest weapon. So why can't they just take him out the game and shut him down? Because he actually has talent and can make things happen given the right opportunity. I'm not saying he's a world beater by any means but when given a chance he's a serviceable #1 and can probably be a great #2.
EXACTLY. I think Aiken basically being the only guy on the field like everyone says makes his performance last year look even better. It's a shame he was the off man out this year because he's shown he's a solid reciever.
19 minutes ago, redrum52 said:With a full off season i think he can be something special. Anyone with eyes should see the potential.
I just want so badly for him to be a star, someone like Mike Evans. I want the NFL to finally look at one of our WR and be like man, that guy is insanely good.
Need to go after Derek Barnett.
12 minutes ago, hn68wb4 said:Pees isn't going to be fired, even though the defense did terribly to end the season, we were in contention to be the top unit for most of the season. Even if you want him gone, and believe me we all do, he won't be fired after an overall successful campaign all things considered.
If he does leave for one reason or another then I fully expect us to just promote Leslie Frazier, we've dealt with D coordinator internally for quite some time now, I don't know if we've ever had a D coordinator that wasn't a position coach for the team before hand.
Frazier has been a very solid DC in the past. I'd be happy with that.
I'm trying to understand the Payton hype. So we want a coach who is an "offensive genius". Where does him having a hall of fame QB in Brees factor in? I think it's possible that makes him look better than he might actually be. If you wanna fire Harbaugh fine, but why go with another coach who has shown mediocrity the past few seasons. So maybe we bring him in and he does upgrade our offense, but then our defense suffers, because we have all seen those amazing Sean Payton defenses! Then you're all gonna be calling for his head.
You guys can call him a bust but I really think Perriman is gonna be special.

1.) Sign Brandon Marshall. He's having a down year, but he has had abysmal QB play. He's that guy that can go over the middle or physically manhandle any DB on any route. The Jets want to clean house and rebuild, and he could be a cut candidate. Perfect target for Flacco.
2.) Trade for Kyle Fuller. Cut Shareece and PLEASE don't re-sign Powers. Have Jimmy and Tavon on the outsides with Fuller in the slot. Address the rest of the position in the draft or free agency (cap casualties, UFA's, etc).
3.) Cut Pitta. His time here is done. Maxx, Waller and Boyle needs more reps. I cannot emphasize this enough. I'm not sold on Crockett.
4.) Cut Doom. He's ineffective, slow and oft-injured. Unleash the beast that is Judon. I think Sizz still has one more season left and we can find his replacement in next years draft, or have Correa put in a lot of work in the offseason because his first step is insane and we need him to realize his potential.
5.) End Jabrill Peppers' slide and select the versatile monster who can also be a force in the return game. If he's not there, take Mike Williams. Him, Brandon Marshall, Mike Wallace, Breshad, Campanaro and Moore. Not bad.
6.) Cut Zuttah. He gets pushed back into Flacco way too often and draws too many drive killing penalties. Draft Ethan Pocic in the second and beef him up. Look how he helped Fournette.
7.) Fire Pees and go hard after Gus Bradley, Chuck Pagano (if he's fired), Rex Ryan (if he's fired), or literally anyone else. I'm sick of his crap.
8.) I'm willing to give Marty one more season unless Hue Jackson or Mike McCoy become available.
I'm sure I can think of more, but I'm absolutely drained from tonights heartbreaking loss. Onto 2017!
Man if we could get these 8 things done I'd get even more excited for next season than I already am.
9 hours ago, Deflated Football said:I have some Titans and Rams fans who greatly dislike Britt. He's not what we need. He will be Aiken 2.0. But it's another bargain bin WR that Ozzie will salivate over. He's mediocre at best.
Mediocre at best? Have you watched the man play this year? Well I have and I can tell you he's played way better than mediocre lol.
9 hours ago, Deflated Football said:I'm not even on the Garçon bandwagon, but at least he's established and reliable and could very well get 1,000 again this season and had over 900 yards in 2011. He also consistently catches over 60 balls a season while Britt finally has 68 this season, his highest ever, so... try again
Your statement based Britts potential impact solely off him only having 1 1000 yard season. So I simply stated that Garcon also only has 1, so that stat is irrelevant.
2 hours ago, reed20 said:Megatron lost his passion for the game. I feel like Steve is choosing to retire just because everyone expects him to at his age but he still has some left in the tank. Maybe he doesn't believe he has another year left in him but to be honest he still sounds undecided.
Megatron decided he didn't want to be crippled for the rest of his life. Steve has already said that he wants to be with his family and that's the main reason he's retiring.
As much as I'd like to see it happen, I doubt Pees is leaving.
1 minute ago, ALPHA said:How does Garcon fit here? he would go from being a low production starter to 40 receptions at #2 or slot.
Why are you quoting me and not the several people in love with him. Who would you suggest we sign?
26 minutes ago, Ravensfan23 said:Absolutely. Have you seen this guy play? Go back and watch his games vs physical Seahawks secondary. I have no doubt that he's gonna be a really strong #2 WR for some team and I'd love it to be Baltimore.
100% agree with this.
21 minutes ago, hereweare said:Garcon also has had 6 seasons with 68+ catches..
Don't get me wrong I'd like to see Garcon here. I just think Britt's potential impact is being underestimated.
2 hours ago, Deflated Football said:Lol Kenny Britt. The guy who's only topped 1,000 yards once. Yea, exactly what we need 🙄
Guess who else only has 1 1,000 yard season. Pierre Garçon, so...
3 minutes ago, hereweare said:So on 3rd n 8 you think we can count on Kenny Britt to get open?
Um yeah
12 minutes ago, Ravensfan23 said:That's who i'd like to see. I think he'd fit this offense going forward and what they want to do. I don't think the system will change just maybe the OC running it. Britt had some struggles early in his career but has really turned things around and even produced his first 1,000 yard season in 2016. I think he's one of those rare cases of a guy hitting his prime late because of injury. Kenny Britt was poised to have a huge season in year 3 but he had a bad injury that basically robbed him of 3 additional seasons because he never really healed 100%. However once he completely got over the knee injuries, he got that explosiveness that made him a #1 draft pick back. He's a big bodied guy who uses that size and speed so well. I think he's just hitting his prime and could very well be the best available WR in FA this year but will go under the radar. I think he'll have a Crabtree type impact for whoever signs him. Also i think he'd be the best type of guy to really help Perriiman develop even more.
If I'm Ozzie i'd attack Kenny Britt early in FA the same way they did Watson. I'd have no problem with a 4yr 28-30M and making him a Day 1 priority FA.
I don't see why others are so down on Britt. Id be happy with us signing him.

I'm gonna be so pissed if we sign Williams over Wagner. I like Williams and all, but come on, it's a no brainer.
