  1. The Giants have always surrounded their Franchise QB with legit playmakers there for the longhaul. Marshall probably wants to be a #2 at this age of his career. He can help Beckham become more consistent and in line. Back to Giants always surrounding their QB with playmakers. Giants signed Plaxico when Amani already was a viable weapon. I'm sure Giants would have traded up for Beckham or a true No. 1 receiver if necessary. On the OPEN market sometimes you have to pay market value for a player that can put you over. Being thrifty is good but it shouldn't be a golden rule a player must accept your offer. Or else move on to older cheaper players willing to sign for what you want to pay. Especially over a couple million dollars.
  2. While I agree with you on Watt. Correa is looking like a terrible pick. Watt looks to be 265lbs with 4.65 speed. But is he fluid and natural in his movements. How is his bending skills? Is he similar to Ryan Kerrigan who has 4.69 speed with a good 3cone. But is not fluid and balanced enough to be an elite edge rusher. But is a fairly good edge rusher. I have not watched much of TJ Watt yet. Will do so in next week or so considering how busy my schedule is. Joey I have to acknowledge I like your passion in your favorite players. Whether you are correct or not Passion is what makes games fun. Rooting for your players to get drafted by your team. Then following their career and hoping you are wrong if a rival gets your players. Looking forward to your reports on TJ Watt? Is he more fluid and athletic than Kerrigan. Which isn't a bad floor. But not quite the game wrecker we need to build the ravens defense around like Lewis/McCrary
  3. Quiet free agency opening act!
  4. Actually you must decide is he part of an underpowered roster. Or a bright spot. Can he regain his 2014 form? I agree with you. I would pay Zeitler $9million before Wagner. Because he is top5 at his position. Wagner unless he stepped up last half of season and played better than I'm aware of,is not elite at his position. But allowing him to leave will create a hole nonetheless. Really tough decisions. If we pay him and Lewis is merely serviceable. It gives us functional players and continuity. But not the elite line Harbaugh and Ozzie wants. But an upgrade at center with Forrest Lamp could push the Line to top 5 status. With Lewis and Wagner very functional and elite players at RG LT and Center. Players elite bring Yanda Stanley and Lamp/Feeney. Unless Wagner was lights out the last 6 games of year I watched very little of. I was quite busy with things like work, new relationship and mom sick and in the hospital. So did Wagner recapture any of his 2014 magic? And get physical in the run game. If so I would consider paying him $40million over 5 yrs.
  5. I like Butler. I like undersized lockdown CB's. I say arguably because he may not actually be top5. But he is put on an island with great WRs. He locked Beckham down and frustrated him. Not many would be left on an island with Beckham. Fact Belichick of all coaches put him on an island with Beckham says volumes about his skills.
  6. Actually 4. Brady, Gronk, McCourty, and you can make a case Malcolm Butler is arguably a top5 player. Belichick is always a step in front of the league. Big CB's coming into the league so he is making a big play for a very explosive shifty WR that excels at separation
  7. Good points. If Lewis can play above average at least. Then he needs a position so he isn't a waste. I like your Zeitler idea. And you don't want to waste a serviceable player
  8. Last year I didn't agree with paying a guard 5 years/$50million which is what he would of settled for signed early. Because we were paying Yanda who is mr raven. However when I look back at it in 20/20 hindsight. At least we would have an established identity. Arguably the best offensive line in the NFL. With Yanda Stanley and Osemele. With a solid RT in Wagner. Draft a Feeney/Lamp to play center than that is arguably the best in the league. And ravens would have an identity. The line could power a dominant running attack which would open things up for Joe while placing him in a comfortable pocket. Then build different sections of the roster from there. $50million to a guard looked far much to me. But now I see what we have invested in TE with no franchise player at the position. A pick in round2 and 3 and a big contract to Pitta. Not to mention a round5 and 6 pick in Boyle and Waller. And acontract given to Watson. And TE is one position.Building the offensive line Harbaugh wants could cost a lot of resources with draft picks and contract money
  9. So what should FO focus on in free agency and the draft? Say like, management understands we will have holes on the team. But focus on this section to establish an identity. I would say focus on an offensive line.
  10. I do like Lamp a lot. I agree with you there. However I do know Lewis is not most athletic guy to stash at tackle. But maybe his technique would allow him to be effective? But I can't argue because I have not watched enough of him. With so many needs what should management make a priority? Trade back and pick up an extra pick while drafting Forrest Lamp? If Ravens do a lot of trading back, would that confirm trying to acquire picks for rebuilding the team?
  11. Free agency begins Noon?? I thought it was 4:00 p.m.? BTW I'm with you giving $9million to Zeitler before Wagner. Lewis is going to be at least as effective as Wagner at RT. Then we could draft a Feeney/Lamp to play center. Mangold I liked. But I hear he was pushed around often recently before injury.
  12. With a franchise QB that could end up a serious bargain. He is Bigger/faster than Brandon Marshall. He could end up 1500 yards 16 TDs with a team like ravens or patriots. He was quite productive with average backup QBs
  13. Boyle would be awesome as a fullback. Good blocker and a real receiving weapon. Most FBs are only checkdown receivers. I would really like Everett Graham for this role. He blocks better than Evan Engram. And Is like a route running WR coming out of the backfield. He is not dominant blocking but he is functional and takes pride in.
  14. We need WRs that can consistently get open intermediate level between hashes
  15. I don't like it. We need guys that can get open consistently at intermediate level.
  16. Not only the combine. I always felt he was overhyped. And a tweener with no real standout traits for any position.Combine kinda confirmed that. He is light and not overly strong for DT. Then not overly explosive for edge rusher. He is a very refined and coached up player. I could be wrong.
  17. I see Solomon Thomas going before Jonathan Allen by the time draft day gets here. Separated by 10lbs and Thomas obliterated him in about every category. I don't think Allen is going top3 like predicted.
  18. Round1 Forrest Lamp/John Ross/Rueben Foster Round2 JuJu Smith Schuster/Dan Feeney Some combo is my ideal scenario Reason I like Ross as our #1 pick is his blazing speed and short area burst/shiftiness, separation skills. The NFL is going to bigger cornerbacks to combat the Corey Davis's and Dez Bryant's. Ross can work the slot as a first down maker who presents that big play threat from the slot. Defenses will be on their heels covering him in the slot while trying to account for his deep speed. I know we have Wallace and Perriman. But those guys aren't shifty route runners that create early separation from the slot. Perriman doesn't show any 4.2 speed. Especially short area fluid burst for early separation from the slot. Ross would be like Edelman that can get deep in a blink and make an acrobatic play and climb the ladder for it if necessary. I like Ozzie's and Harbaugh's plan to make a great offensive line priority. When the Wizard says offensive line is a priority it means NFL defenses beware. Dan Feeney is growing into his skills and could be a future All pro Guard and Center. With potential to play tackle if called on. Forrest Lamp looks squatty and unathletic. Don't let it trick you. He can move and he is fluid and explosive. Ask Alabama's star studded defense if it wants to see him again
  19. I don't think Reddick gets out of round1. He can cover and cover well. He would be an awesome weapon blitzing as a 4-3 olb. He could be a weapon blitzing as an ilb that could cover TEs. How could teams account for him blitzing as an 4-3 olb or even a 3-4 ilb? No chance he gets out of round one. That is my opinion. However Barnett could be there at 16. He is a refined and productive college player. But fact remains he doesn't have the traits of the game wrecking edge rushers. He is refined and does everything right. He is similar to an edge rusher in 2010 Derrick Morgan refined and did everything correctly. A good player and would like to have him. But is he the game wrecker you are hoping for at 16? To change the personality of the ravens defense
  20. Philly is obsessed at building a juggernaut on offense and putting weapons and a line around Wentz. Philly doesn't seem to really like any of its WRs. I could see Philly signing Pryor and making a move for Ross. If that happens we could probably get Matthews for a late round draft pick.
  21. We liked him but didn't really have anything to bargain with to actually go get him
  22. If a QB is not accurate it will definitely show up throwing at a proday. Of course there is more to being a QB. Tell me something else I already know. His uncle was similar at one time. His arm talent is very comparable to his uncle. Of course he has to learn the the position and put his arm skill to the turf. But to say he doesn't have top shelf arm talent isn't true. Which we will see at his proday. Matter of fact we will compare his pro day to any QB in this class. His arm skills is as comparable to any QB in the last couple drafts. That doesn't mean I'm calling him can't miss. Because he can miss like any first round QB. All I'm saying he is as talented as any QB in this class. And last couple drafts for that matter.
  23. That is exactly what i mean. He is a player we can actually get. I like him a lot. Part of it is he is so criminally underrated. He turns the corner so low and tight and looks so strong doing it. I don't know about Garrett but I would take him well before Barnett.
  24. Like I said we will wait for his pro day. And see if he isn't accurate. As for missing open receivers? Brady even said he kicks himself after games because of all the open receivers he missed being open. So when you are in the pocket under a rush it happens. But he has smarts and instincts to get better. As did Steve Young and Brett Favre Garappolo and Carr have very similar skill sets. Tell us all how different their skills are. And Chad Kelly is a little more athletic than Carr and Garappolo. He is a legit TD threat when he has to run. So his armstrength, tight release mixed with athleticism is closer to Russel Wilson in that aspect.
  25. He is not inaccurate nor inconsistent. He forces some throws because of his confidence in armstrength and accuracy but who doesn't. I will give you this. He is kind of an uncoached wild stallion. Very much like a young Steve Young and Brett Favre. But he is far from stupid. But when a good coach begins to mold him he has everything you look for in a QB including intelligence. It's not like he skips practices like Ryan Mallet. He will have no problem downloading a complicated playbook. We will look for his pro day. If I were to compare him to a current QBs I would say Russel Wilson,Derek Carr, Garoppolo
