  1. Many fans wanted Collins. I did after a host on the fan turned me onto Collins. I watched some games and was convinced he would be drafted top20. And we wouldn't get him. When he was there at 26 i thought for sure he would be the pick. I told everybody that wanted him he would be drafted before we picked. He was definitely one of the more popular players of all the ravens fans I talked draft with.
  2. I don't like Ramczyk very much. Not much length or girth to his frame. I like Cam and Lamp better. Lamp could play LT and RT and Center if necessary.
  3. Not really interested in Fournette. I think Dixon should be an elite running back. And I like Davis better than Mike. Far better that is
  4. Young was amazing especially for an undersized rookie. But to be fair Ramsey is asked to do things that would never be asked of young. You will find Ramsey man up on Julio Jones,AJ Green and Beckham. That will never be asked of Young. And I'm very biased for undersized cornerbacks. Whether it be zone cornerbacks and especially shutdown man up cornerbacks. Butler is my favorite cornerback in the NFL. And I really like Tavon Young to. A very good player. If Young were even 5'10 190 he would be a pro bowler and maybe even borderline allpro
  5. Ravens typically lately to cover the bad drafts have signed older players that come cheaper and have a couple yrs of production left. These players are over their prime but are savvy and will play solid heads up football. Problem is these players aren't difference makers/impact players. Most teams sign players over 30 to fill a hole and maybe some leadership on championship contenders. But lately ravens are building their team on these players. Older players are cheaper and allow the ravens to fill multiple holes. If Weddle was 26 last year hitting free agency he would of costed $12mil per. Same with Wallace he is a 31 yr old speed threat coming off down yr. when he was 27 hitting free agency he costed $12mil per. He was faster and more explosive at 27. But at 30 as a one trick deep threat he was considerably cheaper because teams pay the big money to players hitting their most productive years as opposed to behind them. But Wallace did have something left to help our team. Although teams clearly don't fear his speed quite like his steeler days. Ravens could never have afforded Weddle and Wallace at 27 yrs old hitting free agency. Same with Brandon Carr a solid better than average cornerback. Teams were not offering up big money to a cornerback going into season 10. But ravens hope he has a decent year to offer them. I would like to see the ravens look for young players about to breakout. As in identifying players with top shelf talent that have been held back because of little opportunity, bad teams, bad coaching, bad systems, no team motivation or work ethic and bad scheme fits. And injury bugs that players may eventually overcome. The way nick perry and zack Brown broke out. Mike Neal is a player I think could break out in ravens system. This strategy keeps a team competitive but not contenders. Savvy vets that were once elite and now solid and technically sound. It is no surprise with this strategy the ravens are consistently 8-8. Ravens have not found many elite players in last 8 drafts and free agency. The drafts have lately been conservative. And ravens don't add blockbuster free agents. Savvy solid but unspectacular vets and useful but unspectacular drafts fronts a competitive team but not a championship caliber team. When you don't aggressively pursue impact players in the draft. And don't sign blockbuster marquee players then where are you getting elite impact players from? Jefferson is most expensive free agent in over a decade. On a side note He wasn't offered the kind of money the elite safety's that are playmakers in coverage as well as the box. Because teams saw him as a playmaking box safety kinda limited to that role. However if you watch his games on all22 you see he will be an elite free safety. He wasn't the playmaker in coverage because Tyrann already played that position. He may not quite have the range of Earl Thomas but he is better in about every aspect. Jefferson will be an elite free safety. He has the agility and instincts for coverage intermediate and deep with very good play speed. He will really control the intermediate part of the gridiron. He will more than likely be a pro bowl player. He is a good tackler with really good striking skill. Not a knockout hitter but he is going to jar a lot of throws loose. Only weakness is man up on tall athletic TE's. He has good but not great size at 5'11 211. He is going to play like a $13mil per FS!
  6. There is such a thing as overpaid. When you fall short of the play the team thought it was getting. If there was not such a thing as overpaid, nobody would ever be cut. Every players drafted it is about how he is perceived to play. Top 60 picks are for players that are most likely to be standout players or else he wouldn't be drafted before the next 190 players. Whether it based on college production or potential of raw skill. Top 60 picks have a standard to play up to. When a player is picked in round 6 and is below average. Nobody chastises the gm. Because the top players are mostly already drafted. And you can't really fault a gm. When a player is top 50 and is below average it is considered disappointing and the gm will be chastised by fans. And fired if he picks enough top50 busts. Because picking a bust in top 50 picks means you missed out on a lot of players that are top 1/3 at their position and better. If Judon busts nobody bats an eyelash. Correa being a bust will bring heavy criticism. Because of all the future top 1/3 players missed out on. Deion jones, Spence,Ngakoue, whitehair ,Ragland,Mitchell, cravens, Boyd, Alexander, Thomas to name some of
  7. Many players get overpaid in free agency. Even average players get big contracts. Free agency has as many busts as early draft picks. Standout isn't all pro. Means your top third at your position. Jerney has potential for that but that's reason he was shipped away. Round 2 is the top players coming out. And should be more than max Cody Upshaw Jernigan Brown kindle has shown
  8. Maybe a little overrated thus far but a very good athlete at 280lbs. McDowell is a little better I think. He is bigger with a better bullrush and as flexible. McDowell changes direction and breaks down totackle alittle better than taco These rushers are a touch overrated. Not as explosive as Von. And similar athleticism to Alfonso smith and Justin Houston and Quinn but not the size or length of them. I like Lawson Harris and Williams but not crazy about them. Lawson I really like but is a little too heavy. If his legs could catch his upper body he could be there with Khalil Mack. He turns the corner hard with authority and underrated flexibility. Harris has the best burst off the ball. But his 4.84 is not impressive for a smallish speed rush olb
  9. Decosta is delusional. Wagner I liked and was a good pick. But he is not better than Lane Johnson. And Eric Fisher plays left tackle. Decosta must feel pressure if he is always trying to deceive with illusions his draft success. Saying that he has a 64% success in round2. A player being a starter is not indicative of a successful pick. It means that player is your best option for that position. It doesn't indicate you have a standout player. Calling Cody a somewhat success shows his delusional thinking. Jernigan wasn't a successful pick if you shipped him off to move up in round3. Then there is Max Williams and Correa that are busts thus far. I know everybody is going to say Correa is only going into year2. If you think he shows NFL skills I don't know what to say. He is totally awful.
  10. I don't think Jones was stiff. His rush moves many of required good flexibility. He clearly didn't have the burst to put NFL tackles in submissive positions where he could then finish. He was thought to be powerful for 250 lbs. but was not powerful in the NFL. Barnett is similar. However he is a little bigger and stronger than Jones and a touch more flexible. But Jones possessed a slightly faster initial burst. However it isn't going to make a difference in the NFL. He isn't overpowering NFL tackles. And a tackles technique and polish in the NFL is light years ahead of college. Jones's moves that were his impressive trademark in college he soon learned were not working in the NFL. Barnett is known for good hand usage. But NFL tackles are bigger with longer arms to negate that. He may get about 6-8 sacks a year tops all on the well below average tackles and Tight Ends. However only an opinion. I like Tim Williams and Lawson. Tak could end up the best after some coaching. He has the best raw athleticism power and burst. Overall I like this edge rusher class but it is a touch overrated. It is a dangerous class as well because not all these rushers are going to be top shelf edge rushers. There is the players that combine size with athleticism to consider as well. That being Taco and McDowell. Taco and McDowell are athletic enough to play rush olb at 280 and 295 lbs.while sliding inside on 3rd and longs. Very very similar to Cameron Jordan.
  11. Like the draft. Maybe we could draft Cam then trade up for Lamp. That would fill out the offensive line.
  12. He is more than fast. He could have average speed and be amazing. He has better raw skills than Beckham
  13. RayRay you are the supreme poster on this board. Your style is funny. And you are no nonsense in wanting the ravens to be Super Bowl champions. You are definitely a ravens perfectionist.
  14. Makes lot of sense. I'm not yet convinced on Pierce being a standout. Jefferson could play weak side Linebacker for some plays. He could be a fine free safety. He was used in the box in Arizona because there was a pro bowl FS there. But he has the skills to be a really good FS with good range.
  15. Mangold wasn't the same player last 2 seasons. Football players don't become better players with age. I'm not a fan of Elflein. Harbaugh and oz want to get stronger on the offensive line. Elflein is a good college player without the traits of Top NFL player. He could be a functional center but nothing to write home. Not really an upgrade over Urschel and Jensen. Similar to peter Konz. Good college player that didn't have traits of elite pro
  16. Don't care if he gets to the QB? Williams was inconsistent as well. But nothing like Jernigan! Davis is a bust thus far. Henry is a great athlete but needs a lot of coaching up if he is to be a productive player. Wouldn't rule out trading up for Allen if he slides. He was in the conversation for top pick in the draft from Alabama
  17. Could Gilmore do a Jason Peters and grow into a tackle? He has big hands, long arms and is 6'6. I heard he bulked up to 275-280 after his rookie season with a 34 inch vertical and a 10' broad jump. He has a strong natural base. I would think he could get stronger as he grows into his new position. That is better raw athleticism than Garrett Bolles Who isn't quite 300 lbs and projected to grow once drafted. And he is about Crocketts age. The most impressive aspect of his game is his blocking power and is like trying to bring down a bull after the catch. Linebackers look like cornerbacks trying to tackle him if the linebacker gets no leverage. It isn't likely but is he much different from round1 pick Bolles?
  18. I'm cool with the trade. I would have preferred to trade our round4 and something else like a round 5 or a pick next yr. And have 3 round3 picks in this draft to use for trading up or stockpiling young players picked in the top 99 in this draft. Management can move up into the top10 of the draft. If ravens move up it has to be targeting a WR unles a top5 player slides. Jonathan Allen didn't test all that well and is projected to slide a little. He would be a brilliant replacement for Jernigan. So far there isn't a replacement on the team. Pierce flashed. But not as much as Jernigan did his rookie campaign. Henry is a wildcard. After he was drafted I read on here several times about his raw athleticism was superior to Jernigans. Like his 40 time predraft was 4.8-4.9 range at whatever it is he weighs. But thus far he is an athlete. He is not a polished player with any rush, stack and shed moves.
  19. Ridley is awesome. I don't care about his college production. His QB is a drag. Ridley is freaking amazing!
  20. While I think Stanley is solid and pro bowl caliber. Tunsil is once every 5 year LT talent. Stanley has veteran technique. Tunsil is being coached up yet and got by on pure raw skill. Not a knock on Stanley. He was the cleaner player off the field and a great player in his own right. He is far more coached up that Tunsil. However Tunsil is a very rare gifted talent. Every scout agreed Tunsil was the most gifted player in the draft. In his drills he moved like a linebacker. He was impressive.
  21. Couldn't agree more. Boyle has more value as a fullback to us than a round7 pick he could return. He has sneaky speed and athleticism. Don't forget his junior year he was considered a round2 talent and round1 watchlist. He reportedly put on weight and wasn't as explosive his senior year. Then his rookie yr he looked like his jr yr again. Lost likes Jake Butt in round 3-4. He is a good tough blocker at 6'5 250. With about 4.65 speed. And he is shifty and crafty. Now Boyle isn't my favorite pick to change the fullback position. I would like Everett Graham or Engram. Functional blockers to spring our run game. While having to be accounted for like WRs out of the backfield. And could carry the rock several times per game to really mix things. Could be Roger Craig of fullbacks. Functional blockers to spring the run game while having to be accounted for like a WR. First 1000 yard blocking fullback potential. However Boyle is more than adequate for this role. He is back to his junior season form. He really surprised and impressed fans, coaches and broadcasters/analysts. For his routes, speed and hands for a round5 rookie. He is far better than a checkdown receiver most blocking fullbacks are limited to. I'm sure he can lead block. He is an all around upgrade over Juice. A stronger blocker and natural WR. Now you throw in a motivated Max Williams and Jake Butt.(or comparable player) The offense can run 2TE formations, Fullback:TE formation as well as 2TE/FB 2speedy WRs. And of course an elite receiving RB into most of those formations. Now Jake Butt, Williams and Boyle aren't Gronk/Kielce. But all are good blockers . And good route runners with great hands with enough speed the defense has to account for big plays from any of the trio. Especially Jake Butt. He is a more explosive athlete than credited for. Any of the TEs can beat most Linebackers and box out most safety's. And on run plays can seal off LB's and lineman to spring big runs from Dixon. Corey Davis in round one and Jake Butt in round 4 sounds like a plan. Corey Davis,Perriman,Jake Butt,Dixon and Boyle is as good a set of weapons there is. On run plays Boyle and Jake will be productive blockers. And can block or catch on throwing downs to keep opponents guessing.
  22. What happened? That I could justify not picking him. But the DV gets picked up by state if there is any evidence of real violence. Westbrook is is awesome. You don't want to see him oroy and we skipped him.
  23. I don't like elflein at all really. Pierce flashed. Henry is an elite athlete for a big dude. But not a football player. I read on here last year he reportedly ran in the 4.8-4.9 range predraft. But he is not a football player at this juncture.
  24. I would of preferred trading our round 4 and round6 or even round5 to have 3 round 3 picks in this particular draft. Or even a pick next year to have 3 picks in round 3 this in this yrs draft
  25. Lamp would be an all pro center. If ravens make line a priority and land one in early rounds and sign a significant cut player. Then the offensive line could be a strength of the team
