  1. Before we get too hard on ownership and management we should take a moment and give thanks we are not the Chicago Bears
  2. Alabama is the best college football program going and I say this as an Notre Dame fan. If recent memory, every year the team competes for the National Title Saban is the best at recruiting top talent at every position and the organization is 2nd to none at developing that talent at every position. I am not an Ozzie apologist. Obviously he didn't draft the player you wanted but it seems like maybe you are the one with the blinders on.
  3. Does anybody ever do a postmortem on these mock drafts to evaluate how good Kiper, McShay and others are at predicting draft placement? I think ESPN is up to mock draft 127.0
  4. Yea terpmaniac not everyone can have a top 5 WR in this league like Antonio Brown or Odell Beckham. So if you are going to be upset until we get one than you may have to wait a while. Do you think Mike Wallace is going to say that that our receivers are terrible, and that they suck at running routes, and drop balls to often when a member of the media asks him what he things?? We have never had a top 5 WR. In there last few SB appearances NE has not had a top 5 WR, Seattle has not had a top 5 WR in its appearances. Neither Odell Beckham or Antonio Brown have won a Superbowl. And in fact neither of them has gotten close. Thank you. Not to mention that, for whatever reason, the Ravens have a horrible track record at evaluating and drafting wide receivers. Yet are great at picking up veterans with gas left in the tank and getting the most out of them. I have this life size picture of drafting this good looking kid from the MAC conference, and watching him struggle to get open against NFL level defensive backs and then 3 years from now trading comments like what ever to happened that kid we drafted at 16 in 2017? What was his name davies, Davis...?
  5. Inability to get a yard when you really need it is a hallmark of the West Coast Offense and the Zone Blocking Scheme. The former doesn't typically commit to the run, and will more likely rely on a quick pass - it has been a hallmark of the Andy Reid offenses, which Harbs is most familiar with. I'm generally a fan of zone blocking in the right scheme, but it is a very reactive, east-west approach: O-lineman steps in a direction, and doesn't really know who he is going to block until the defense slants, bulls, or stunts. Our offense is a hybrid of West Coast and Zone Blocking. That yard will continue to be hard to come by. That's why we need a bigger center. When in doubt, QB sneak and pray. Seems the Ravens have mastered the forward pass behind the line of scrimmage that loses yardage. The good news for Joe is that it pads his pass completion stats.
  6. No, No and No. Hint Ezekiel Elliot had a great year. The Ravens backs would have had much more productive years behind the same line. Continue to build an All Pro line and reap the benefits of All Pro running backs. Oh and stop dialing up forward passes completed BEHIND the line of scrimmage.
  7. Br*dy threw 2 interceptions and had a 68.6 rating last weekend. So far, in 2 playoff games, Ben has attempted 49 passes, 3 of which were intercepted. Both were totally bailed out by their playmakers. Joe would have been roasted alive for the play we've seen from them. Roasted with dillweed and peppers. Not only is Joe not a media darling but many display antipathy toward him. It's similar to high school and they're the sycophants who want to hang out with the cool kids (Brady, Peyton, Ben et.al.) and hope to curry favor by deriding the nerds on the school ground.
  8. Good point about coaches and players. Top tier QB's have high IQs which is why Joe will never be top tier. But I wouldn't call him below average. He has the athletic ability and size but the light burns weak behind them eyes. He is, however, grossly overpaid for a better than average QB.with a low IQ and a savy Agent. Ravens Front Office exhibits a habit of making bad decisions regarding the QB after winning Superbowl's.
  9. The article says Suggs Blew BY a tight end, which is saying some at the end of a game against a smaller faster opponent.
  10. Valid points mendii. It is like Joe is a sleep walker through the regular season and only wakes up if the defense gets the team to the playoffs. I for one am suffering from post-purchase cognitive dissonance over Joe. He got his pay day and now he needs to wake up and help the defense by outscoring the opposition by comfortable margins most weeks and stop playing to the level of his competition. Given the level our competition to date a near .500 record is unacceptable especially considering the second half of our schedule.
  11. This article is pathetic. I know that the Opie Optimists need to cling to any thread of hope but the Ravens offense just isn't a playoff caliber offense and the defense is missing the fire and confidence of RL leader on the field. They're good but not good enough to overcome this score challenged offense. To Whobilly's point, win out and the rest will take care of itself. Crossing fingers is for losers. With all the talk about the O-line issues, It might help, for next season and the balance of Flacco's career if they found a young, smart, offensive coordinator who might just stick around for a few years. . Not making excuses for Flacco's lackluster performance of late but this game of musical chairs at OC is not constructive for consistency. Turning the position into a rehab program for failed head coaches is an alarming trend in the NFL for younger smarter up and coming future head coaches. They are out there they just need an opportunity.
  12. Now that is the salient point. Thank you.
  13. Believe me I do!! As do I but to whobilly's point you rarely hear the talking heads on the networks point out that the Pat's have had nearly two decades of 6 inter-divisional walkover victories. They start every season essentially 6-0. So the network media is full of "Yeah But" over the Ravens 3-0 start because of apparent opponent mediocrity. I feel his pain.
  14. They are a booby trap for the Ravens. They seem to go into playoff mode for Raven Games. We are 2 wins and 3 losses against them since 2005. You are right the Ravens need to prepare and expect the jaguars best. Their schedule is only going to get harder and harder but they can't look past the jags.
  15. I couldn't agree more. Move along and develop talent on the bench. Chris Moore is looking great When the day comes BP will get his chance to make an impact. He needs to be completely healthy and more important fear of injury has to be cleared from his mind.
  16. With due respect mom, we do not know the impact which is the problem.
  17. I agree with you. We are too loaded with talent to be scoring only 13 points in home games. Trestman is our problem. I have a brother who lives in Chicagoland. Big Bears fan. Sent me a condolence card when he heard the Ravens picked him up as OC.
