um, Forsett is far from a complete back, he's got below average speed for the position, he's not a particularly natural receiver, watching him in on short yardage situations is so cringe worthy, outside of that he doesn't bring anything that we don't have with the 3 we kept aside from experience, but to be fair he doesn't have too much more starting experience than what we've got. Should he have made it over Buck? I think so, but the FO likes his receiving ability and youth.

Different positions, different value. Deep at receiver, plenty of options at S, deep at RB......no other backup LT, lots of question marks at CB.

I'm happy bringing in Hester, he's as good as any returner we've got and him just being on the field as a returner brings undeniable excitement

Does matter. As bad as Hurst is he is better than moving someone out of position to take over for Stanley if he gets hurt, and he's as bad/better than anyone you'll find on the market at this point.
Nobody here is a Hurst fan, but him making the roster shouldn't have surprised anyone

He's the only backup LT we've got
ok, nevermind on Houston
RB Stephen Houston made the cut, surprising there. Also our streak of UDFAs making the roster is still alive with Michael Pierce

PUP
Been saying Forsett may be the odd man out over on reddit all offseason and no one wanted to hear it. He's just a victim of his age and the youth on the roster at the position offering everything he can do and then some

We have to make room for them somehow, but by then we'll have had a good look at all of our players in the regular season and who's expendable

And he's a prototypical special teamer, fast and likes to hit...and hits hard, don't think he'll make the 53 but wouldn't be surprised if he's got a PS spot
Looks like Michael Pierce is our only UDFA that can keep our streak alive, he has a darn good case for the final 53 too

Special teams contributor and that height of his would be useful. Don't think he should be kept over a certain other receiver that was let go but it's possible. I doubt he's making the cut though.
Sorry but I hate this move, if we keep Camp on the roster then it'll be even worse. Butler earned a spot, don't understand why our coaches refuse to give the kid what he's earned. He'll be picked up by someone, pretty much guaranteed

Considering we've got our deepest receiving corps in a heck of a long time, if not ever, then why not let Smith return? he was great doing it early in his career in Carolina and he's the type of player that is happy to contribute in as many ways as possible. We want to spread the wealth at WR which allows us plenty of flexibility to have him as a returner. And with Webb we know we've got some return talent there, now he's at safety - another position where we've got options and will have some sort of rotation going on - so he's another guy that now should be more than capable of handling the return duties if we want him to. And considering how much each roster spot is currently worth we really can't afford to take on a pure return specialist, so we're going to have to have someone pulling double duty and these two make sense.

Every return man has fumbled, the entire reason we got Jacoby was because of a fumble in the playoffs - and we all know how bad he turned out for us....oh wait
