That sucks, was really hoping to see Doom today, good thing we've been getting to QBs without him so far
Fingers still crossed for Doom to debut today, with the Jags missing players on their oline having him would be huge
It's pretty annoying that almost every analyst has the Jags winning based solely on "desperation"

....as if we can sign literally anyone no matter what - Sitton signed with the first team he visited. Can hardly say we "should've" signed a player we never had a chance at signing in the first place.
My prediction for this game is a 20 - 10 W for us.
We've shown so far that we can get pressure on opposing QBs unlike last year and Jacksonville is missing their starting C and LT. If Doom is able to go then we will be getting in Bortles' face early and often. Defense got caught off guard against the speed of Cleveland's WR corps in the first quarter but after that they did a good job recovering. The Jags' receivers aren't built on speed so I think we'll be ok in that regard. Jimmy has been pretty up and down so far but I trust him to redeem himself against Robinson, he does well against those big physical receivers. Jimmy has the ability to shut down great receivers, hopefully he's having a good day. The real thing to watch is Wright v. Hurns, that's the matchup that scares me really, fingers crossed we get week 1 Wright rather than week 2 - lets just hope Bortles doesn't have the time to find either. Not sure if Ivory will be playing but he's a good back, we've been doing pretty well against the run so far this year - don't be fooled by the Browns game, take away that 85 yard breakdown and Crowell only had 2.8 yds/carry and we held McCoy below 4 yds/carry as well.
Last week the Jags really struggled against Benjamin and if there's one thing we've got in our receiving corps it's speed. If we can have a halfway competent run game then we can really control this game and keep their defense honest, so far the Jags have struggled to stop the run in weeks 1 and 2. I expect Wallace to have another good game with his first 100 yard game in a Ravens uniform and his first since week 14 of 2014, and another TD to make it 4 TDs in 3 games. Hopefully Pitta can continue the stellar play. And I think it's time for Steve Smith to give the Jags young gun a lesson or two in how football is really played.
From the looks of things they aren't giving returners a chance so Hester may only get 1 or 2 chances if he's lucky, unfortunate because I'm still hoping for him to break one.
He offers nothing outside of receiving ability. He's a below average runner out of the backfield. Forsett isn't the greatest pass catcher in the world but for Trestman's offense he offers all you really need and once Dixon is back we will have a great receiving back that offers some running ability. Chances are he will be gone once Dixon is healthy. He is what he is I suppose, give him great blocking and he'll eventually find the hole and gain a couple, give him a screen and he can get you a solid gain, but if you give him anything less than great blocking and he's going to give you literally nothing as a runner and he doesn't have the speed or burst to break any really long runs. Basically it's at the point where if you put Buck in then the defense knows exactly whats going to happen and that sort of predictability is a terrible thing.
I feel like when talking about Taliaferro it's one of those things where you just get painted on one of the extremes and all rational conversation goes out the window. You can't say you like him as a back without people treating you like you think he's the next great thing, you can't think he has no future with the team without thinking he's the worst RB ever - it's just one of those annoying things that happens with some players. I think it's clear that LT has shown enough in his limited time to safely say he's a pretty good runner with potential to be much better, "is there room for him?" is the question
I can definitely see a future here for Taliaferro. If Dixon comes in next week or in 2 weeks and proves to be as good of a receiving back as we think he can be plus his clear skill as a pure rusher then I think Buck has a bigger chance of being cut than LT, Buck is just a clear cut receiving back that doesn't offer anything but average at best running - and I'd argue below average honestly. LT has the size of a power back, if he could just learn to get low and drive he'd be a great short yardage back, his big problem in those situations has been him running into the pile standing straight up - and saying he isn't as good in short yardage situations as a player like Forsett is just ridiculous, even without getting any bend he is better than Forsett in those situations, Forsett is a terrible short yardage back.
I think the FO still clearly likes LT, otherwise there's no reason why he's still with the team on PUP. We could have easily just cut him going into the season and the FO chose not to. If nothing else that's a clear sign that they want to give him another shot at some point, maybe that'll be this season, maybe it won't be until next year, who knows.
We have 0 run game, I hope Dixon can change that when he's back

No I think we'd be in second because of margin of victory

No I think we should trade him for a 1st
Just now, The Raven said:God Flacco sucks.. He should have led Pitta better.
c'mon man, at least put a little effort into it
sounded like someone got a hand on that kick
Just now, Doomville said:ORR has missed a couple of easy sacks this game.
That wasn't Orr...
Judon is terrible at finishing

because that would be idiotic...
I don't understand thowing it deep on Haden when he's had it covered all game, terrible call on 1st
that's a surprising call
Remember teh ball is allowed to touch the ground if he has control, it looked like he had control to me
lol the two browns players were blocking each other...

The D is going to pick up where they left off. We get two turnovers and hold them under 250 yds total offense.
And I agree that Tavon Young should keep the nickel job until he loses it. The Bills didn't seem to get much out of the slot. His speed is an asset and the more time he gets now the better it is for his future. Powers shouldn't be handed the job just bc he's a veteran. He should have to earn it like anyone else.
I'd be so upset if our offense didn't click against this Browns defense, seriously it's pretty horrible and/or inexperienced from top to bottom

I mean, he and Harbaugh notoriously didn't get along if I remember correctly
Not really, this is a real case where stats don't tell the full story
I saw Forsett gashing off nice runs through some nice gaps and some not-so-nice gaps - he averaged over 4 per carry. West was ok, he's a hit and miss runner, he'll break off a 7 yarder then get stopped for no gain, he's bull ahead for tough yards, then get tackled for a loss.
To be honest we didn't run THAT much, 24 over 4 different players is miniscule for what we usually do and for some reason we gave Forsett less carries than West which I don't get at all since he was doing better from the start. Considering we only carried two backs into the game I don't think we ever had any intention on running the ball much - Also don't sleep on the Bills' front 7, even without Dareus they're pretty darn solid up front and we were starting two rookies and the other three all had bad games, even Yanda. Our run game should be fine if we're smarter about it, Forsett should be getting more carries than West and we should be running more often regardless to open up the play action. Also, I swear if Trestman keeps running runs from the shotgun I am going to go nuts, seriously it felt like those were the runs that really cost our average - I don't remember a single time one of those runs was particularly successful.

As does McCown, in fact they are far more similar scramblers to McCown than RGIII - or what RGIII used to be anyway - neither of them are going to kill you with their speed.
27 minutes ago, Doomville said:ofc 4 sacks are bad. But, flacco could have avoided at least 2 of them iirc: 1. by just throwing the ball away because he had held onto the ball for like 4-5 sec already and obviously the defense is going to be on him after that long, 2. he could have scrambled on a play, he had a open lane to do so, but he didn't and got sacked. This is on flacco. I am being cautiously optimistic so far that the 4 sacks happened because new oline needs to jel, first game jitters, and flacco's confidence in his leg isn't 100% yet. Hopefully, this will be fixed quickly
I actually think you are talking about the same play in those two points. He held on to the ball in the pocket, scrambled out to the right and instead of running down the open lane he kept looking downfield and the rushers got to him.

Guess they didn't want to rush Doom back so soon because he did practice this week
