  1. Of course I can't dictate what you think nor do I want to, but if I were to hypothetically put money down on it right now, I'd say with 100% certainty that if Stanley can't play and Lewis does then our oline will be Hurst - Lewis - Zuttah - Yanda - Wagner. I get the sentiment that Hurst is liability but a complete reshuffle in a game that in all likelihood isn't a must win is just not going to happen in my opinion. Hurst is not a good player but all other scenarios presented are much riskier than just playing Hurst - Yanda has never played LT, at least not in many many years, Lewis is a rookie that we haven't played there since the first preseason game, Wagner has had his fair share of disappointing games at RT so moving him over is a gamble We all would rather never have Hurst start again, there is no dispute here, but if we had no intentions on having him as backup LT then we simply wouldn't have kept him on the roster, we could have used that spot on multiple other players but we kept Hurst, we didn't keep him because we'd rather completely overhaul our line instead of playing him, that just doesn't make any sense. If history is any indication, from what I've seen we are at very least going to give Hurst a shot before doing anything rash.
  2. I get that we would rather have almost anyone start instead of Hurst but there's no chance whatsoever that Lewis will start there over him. As bad as Hurst is, he's still probably better than Lewis right now at that position. Starting a rookie who's almost exclusively played guard for us so far - sans a handful of snaps in the first preseason game - is not a safer bet than Hurst, if anything is a way bigger gamble. Then throw in the fact that he's been at very least dealing with concussion symptoms all week and it's just not going to happen. As bad as he is, Hurst is the best option we have at LT if Stanley doesn't play.
  3. He's made some plays but he's still a rookie, I'd rather not matchup a rookie on an established #1 WR. Outside of getting beat deep Wright has played well so far this year, I think he actually fits well against Crabtree.
  4. I can't see us putting Jimmy on Crabtree simply because he's matched up well against him in the past. Cooper is their clear #1 target and I don't trust Wright at all against him - Jimmy may match up well with Crabtree but Wright matches up poorly with Cooper whereas Jimmy matches up fine with Cooper and I trust Wright more to take on Crabtree. Wright has gotten beat deep on multiple occasions this season, he'd get smoked by Cooper one on one, at least with Crabtree we can sleep soundly at night knowing he's not going to get beat deep.
  5. This'll easily be the toughest game so far this year, Raiders definitely have the talent to be a darn good team but for some reason they just haven't been good so far. Carr is a good QB, they've got one of the best olines in the game, tons of talent on defense that just hasn't put it together yet - but could at any moment. I think this game could easily go either way with one big play possibly deciding it, I think we take this one at home 17 - 10 to get to 4 -0.
  6. I think Crockett might be lined up over there more times than not
  7. I think it has a ton to do with Trestman - sure it's not entire his fault but the bad play calling and lack of any adjustments is squarely on his shoulders. Our biggest offensive strength is our speed and the only time Trestman calls deep plays are when they're limited by the end zone, then we wonder how guys like Haden can keep up and pick it off - it's because Flacco is trying not to throw it out of the back of the endzone while trying to throw it far enough to hit the WR, that's an incredibly small window. Call deep balls when we've got room man. I won't blame the lack of run game totally on him but you'd think he'd at least try something new after our running game has sucked two games in a row but nope, just the same old plays and shotgun runs that rarely, if ever, work. Replacing Zuttah and Lewis would help the running and maybe we'd get more out of Trestman but based off what we've gotten he deserves at least a majority of the blame.
  8. No way we would bring in an outside coordinator midseason, we'd hire and interim. Trying to implement a new system - because the new coach would be coming in with no experience within the previous one - midseason is a recipe for disaster
  9. There's no chance whatsoever that we dump him after a W, it'd probably take a string of really really ugly performances in losses to finally get rid of him. We're just going to have to suck it up for the time being unfortunately
  10. I would say Pees had a fine game, if he had had Jimmy shadow Robinson from the start then we might have been able to stop those TDs, there's no reason WRight should have ever been 1 on 1 with him, especially in the red zone.
  11. I hesitate to give him the MVP because it seemed he was completely non existent until the 4th quarter. I mean his clutch plays at the end very well could have sealed this game for us if we had good play calling but shouldn't MVP go to somewhat who showed up all game?
  12. But there's 0 chance we're going to bench Stanley, with Urschel and Jensen we have a prayer of fixing the interior of our line, Stanley has been solid but he's obviously going to have his growing pains, we don't have nayone else who can take over for him and perform half as well.
  13. After this game Jensen should be a starter at LG or C. The biggest issue with our Oline is Zuttah and Lewis, Lewis is clearly not ready and Zuttah's play has fallen off a cliff.
  14. You act like we had a chance to
  15. The ugly: Jimmy should have been shadowing Robinson from the start, Wright should never be 1 on 1 with an opposing teams #1 if they're in any way competent
  16. "again" doesn't belong in that sentence, he's been just fine the first two game, this was the first time he's really struggled. Fowler wasn't a top 5 pick because he was a bum now was he?
  17. Great News: Somehow we are fantastic at blocking FGs Good News: We won Bad News: We won, so Trestman will remain employed
  18. When we beat the Jags in 2014 we got 8 sacks, 2.5 for Suggs and 2 for Jernigan - lets do that again please
  19. I'd be happy if this game turned out like the Jags game that year, it's a W so I'll take it and we were in Bortles' face all game
  20. I believe we played them last year and the year before too, lost last year and won the year before
  21. Biggest hope is that we have some semblance of a run game today, Jags had a hard time the first two weeks stopping the run so there's a chance
  22. Who will Stanley be primarily up against today? Is it Fowler that usually lines up on that side?
  23. As it is Bortles likes to take chances, if we can get in his face - which I think we definitely can - then we might be getting plenty of turnovers today.
  24. Wouldn't mind seeing Jensen get a shot at center, though switching centers isn't something that you should be eager to do, could throw off the entire oline completely
