Yes, Ray use to praise him all the time. Ray just wants to be heard, He misses running his mouth and everybody kissing up. Hell he is even lousy doing commentary on football games

I actually think Ray is prity darn good at what he's doing. And remember that it was Ray who called this team Flaccos team and urged the team to rally around him. Someone has to light a fire under Joe and the coaches can't do it at this point in Flaccos career for various reasons. Teammates can try but that could split the locker room. Suggs even tried early in the season but backed off. So why not have Ray light a small fire and let SSS and others rally the team and back their QB. This is exactly what we needed!

    to a point I agree.

he needs his head in the game and commit to a receiver and throw it in... stop waiting for them to get open... know coverage/matchups and do it!
    Go Ravens!

  2. Quick shout out to Sarah E... Always look forward to your articles... keep up the great work...
To Flacco and Lewis haters... WOW!
Hey, takes at TEAM to win. Period.
Did you listen to Joe on the Lounge? Takes offense AND defense to go the distance and that is all that matters to him. Winning.
Ray is a passion guy that plays with passion. That is what he wants. I Love his statue next to Johnny U's. In my eyes, the best middle linebacker ever. Great.
No less love for Joe. I appreciate having a level headed QB. I REALLY enjoyed the lounge broadcast because it confirmed to me that we really do have a great QB... Sure, I want him to 'step into the throws' but what I want more than that is for him to use that strong @ss arm and commit early to a receiver and drill it in there. Don't wait for them to get open, throw it to them in the open (i.e. off the break).
    Go Ravens!!!

  3. Back in the early 1970's I was an avid Redskins fan before I moved to Baltimore from Washington. I vividly recall the Sonny Jorgenson / Billy Kilmer battle for who the Redskins QB was going to be each week. Are there any posters on this site that recall that? The reason I mention this is that this situation with Joe and Ryan could develop into the same sort of same-team rivalry. The two Redskins QBs were always gentlemen about it, just as Joe and Ryan are being now but still the rivalry between the Sonny and Billy fans was intense. Who else remembers this?

Got me, I'm old and share same history (i.e. wash to B'more).
I can't say I would mind trying to get a rivalry going. Joe seems very tentative... he should have spent time in the off-season getting on the same page... that last throw in the end zone was a perfect example... I really liked the way Mallett stepped into throws. Could piss off Joe enough to wake him from his slump. Go Ravens!

  4. Look, I like Joe but he's playing scared. Maybe because he is hurt. I don't think so. I think his head is not right. He needs to get fired up. He is constantly under throwing and for the few times he did not under throw... good things can happen. I trust Mallett and I like the way he delivers the ball. I would have NO problem resting joe through the bye week and letting Mallett play this week. It might light the fire under Joe. Go Ravens!!!

  5. I don't mind going for it but what I hated was the play call. ANY football idiot knows that you don't run a sweep at the goal line. Every defensive person is up on the line. Jeez. I would have rather they line up with 2 or 3 wide and have Flacco come to the line and decide throw/run and if run, him or the back behind him. Four different angles at once instead of a stupid butt pitch. What a joke. Don't even get me started on Flacco and his pathetic passing. He DOES need work on the off-season. I have never seen so many under thrown balls in my life. Also NO anticipation of his receivers. Just sad.

  6. "Starting Defense’s Slow Starts Are A Growing Concern" - I'm not on that bandwagon... I don't want to give up TDs. Don't want them to drive down the field either BUT, don't want to give up TDs. Keeping the game in front of you will allow a team to drive on you. Red zone shortens the field. Dan P is doing fine. I do see TOs in our future. Webb is a natural and it will come through. Going to be a good year. Go Ravens!
