Letting Steve be Steve is a great way to close the boards out, in my opinion.

I just want to say well done and thank you to everyone who has contributed on this part of the forum over the last few months. I know this is the best I've ever felt in terms of preparedness going into a draft and I suspect it was similar for many of you guys too. So I just thought I'd say well done for some of the rumours that we quashed, some of the players that we got behind, and that while we played favourites a lot, we've seen enough prospects and enough film as a group that we've been able to understand what the front office has done even though it disappointed some. This process is always a lot more fun when everyone's informed and when there are real intelligent debates over things seen on tape. So now that the draft is in the books I'm going to feel a little down despite being pretty happy with the overall formation of our class. Thanks guys, I'll miss this.

I feel the same about them. Some strong language but not as bad as in their game threads: http://www.steelersuniverse.com/forums/showthread.php/27021-Ravens

Hey guys, I know coming from someone with nearly no posts this seems strange, but I have been a daily reader of these forums dating back to 2011 and I've had a few different accounts here and there. I am currently a studying graphic designer, and me and my friend are currently producing a new forums page and I would appreciate it if you guys could check it out at launch, I know you will love it. I am working hard to duplicate it as close to these forums as possible, but adding a small point of my personal touch. I would hate to see this community fall apart, ranging from Biolizzard, to sami, and even wizards doomsday posts, I've learned to love this community just as much as my ravens. I don't want to deal with clueless Facebook fans, and you guys sure know your stuff. The launch date of the new forum will be May 5th. Apologies for the time, but as a student I'm extremely busy with finals this week. If you have any feedback or suggestions please just email me: forums@purpleflock.com ; this will be a well run and developed community. I only share this now to spread the word before the boards close. This community doesn't have to die. It will take some time to get to full potential, but I can ensure you a safe and efficient board with lots of room to grow. Later down the line (after launch and growth), I would love to write some articles myself, along with having those wiling and capable submit their own articles for use! Thanks for the read and check us at https://purpleflock.com !!

Watched more film, his Louisville game was beautiful despite barely recording a stat. I've never seen a qb break down and extend so many times in one game because a LINEBACKER took away multiple reads. His zone awareness was brilliant. He was crossing the field, showing blitz then dropping, standing deep and surveying before bringing a blitz. He obviously understands the concept of baiting and disguising. He feels defenders moving behind him and very fluidly rolls around with them, he's got extremely light and quick feet. as an edge rusher, he's gotta learn to finish. He gets reckless and allows himself to get totally eliminated, he either breaks down his technique and lets the blocker latch on last second because he went for the sack before disengaging, or he just trips himself up. You can see him getting the upper hand early and showing some great footwork along with some decent but inconsistent handwork, he shows some competence as a rusher but always fails to finish it seems, he's gotta settle down when he gets to that finishing move at the end of his rush and finish disengaging. I don't know if he's a ILB in a 34, I like how he moves in space, he would be amazing at covering between the hash and flats between the LOS and 20 yard mark, yes he is athletic enough to zone drop to disrupt the timing and then stick a receiver 20+ yards downfield. He is like an extra db who will be very disruptive as a pass rusher

There's always something, and it's always stupid, isn't it?

I saw someone say this on that forum and it didn't hit me until that person said it: If I didn't hate the Steelers, I would actually like them.
  19. 7 points
Mods probably gonna light a blunt and flip a bird to the screen when the forum shuts down... they'll finally get to enjoy not having to monitor us.

We can't trade flacco with his cap hit. How many times!!!
  26. 6 points
Tucker and flacco should just switch contracts. I'm not sure who's more valuable

The only reason I am not carrying points is that I haven't been active the past few months Listen, there were times where I thought the mods were being way too knit-picky, even with the understanding that this is a family oriented community. But they have also let me slide many times, more than I deserved. They have been more than fair to me personally, and for that I appreciate it. You know, the other night I went through my content just to reminisce; as narcissistic as this is going to come off as, I got a lot of laughs reading through some of my old threads and the responses to them. The Purple Reign thread was probably my favorite thread ever So it's kind of depressing on a personal level to see this forum die. So much time spent on here, so many laughs shared with others, so many awesome and cool new people I've gotten to meet. but instead of being sad about what we're losing, I'm just thankful for what we had!

Everyone just come over to boardhost with the rest of us. It may not look as flashy as it does here, but we will make it work.

As a foreigner looking in I can appreciate the Steelers - perhaps because they're similar in many ways. Tough, hardnosed, cold-weather football team in the same division as us. Don't get me wrong I get the whole division rivalry thing, but I can still respect them in a sense unlike the suspect cheaters from New England. An incredibly succesful team no doubt, but I've got NO love or respect for them. Just a descipable bunch of ... from the owner to the QB.

Thanks for the list. I wonder who's that special UDFA that makes history?

MOAR PRE-ROAST COMPLIMENTS I'm way behind so... 1. @Moderator 3 Thanks for putting up with my crap and not murdering me. And serving as the fall guy 2. @arnie_uk Thanks for being tolerant of my crap throughout all the years. It's been really helpful to me as a whole. The forum closing is total [removed]. Always a damn good participant of the draft game. 3. @SepticeyePoe. I like Jake Butt and I cannot lie. You other posters can't deny....(seriously that was gold) 4. @K-Dog Have had many a good conversation with you via text. Hope that I can meet you one day and buy you a beer.. if you drink. 5. @Deflated Football Had many an entertaining discussion with you via PM on here. You're a good dude. See above.. When I'm of legal age. 6. @Cville-Raven You're on here again. But you betray me, you didn't keep your promise, you trick me and I don't care anymore. 7. @regz1997 Very humble and easy to get along with. You're a good man!. 8. @Ozzsome- Yo, can you give me the password to @-Truth-'s draft board next time we play the game, whatever platform it's on? Very insightful with draft stuff. Enjoy seeing your opinion. 9. @BOLDnPurPnBlacK- Thank you for making the new forums. I always enjoy seeing your opinions on here. 10. @rmw10 Yup. You're on here again... Definitely needed some more ST players. People don't realize the Ravens lost a lot of their best ST players- Juice, Huff and Elam (believe it or not) were two of the best ST players on the roster last year and they're gone. Clark has good field vision/tackling ability and seems like a perfect ST coverage guy. With Levine, Waller, Onwuasor, McClellan, Canady and now Clark- there's a solid group of ST players on the roster to aid with the last season's departures.

Without doubt, my favorite time on these boards is during draft season. Exchanging player scouting reports and insights on little-known prospects. Discussions and debates about who the Ravens should take and how they would fit, etc. A nice group of fellow draft weirdos. Thanks everybody.

It is sort of a paradox ... I hate them, I want them to suck ... but at the same time I understand that if they did go through a drought, it would feel like something was missing. In the end, the league is better when we're both good and both ripping at each others throat 2 or 3 times a year.
  38. 5 points
We hate the Steelers because they are just like us; we don't respect Patriots because they crybaby cheaters.

Man! Still can't believe that they are taking our home from us. Let me just honestly say that, while I definitely didn't agree with or see eye to eye with many of you cats in here on various things about "OUR TEAM" and probably still won't when this board shuts down. The one thing that was certain and will always remain is that through all of the ups and downs and the good and bad and the negativity as well as the positivity that went on in here; ya'll were and still are my family (Ravens wise). "YOU A'LL ARE MY RAVENS BROTHERS AND SISTERS" and I'm truly going to miss not being able to come in here and chop it up with you guys/gals about our team. "QUOTH THE RAVEN NEVERMORE!" ~ Mili

Yeah I see that. You know he just wants to go make the play. The boy is hungry as hell. Sometimes it bites him because he has such a great motor that he just lets it carry him away sometimes. I think Suggs is gonna really take this guy under his wing and help make him something special. I look forward to a lot of "bicep bumps" between him and sizzle when they bookend a qb over and over
  43. 5 points
Knock on his run game was mostly about his tendency to move in too quickly when more often than not he should just set the edge. We were unbelievably lucky to get him in mid third. Found ourselves another one to light it up for 10+ years.

Watching some film on wormley, and still not understanding why we took him, and while I had a lower grade on him, there's reason to be excited. We have so much brute force on the front and so much incredible talent off the ball/on the edge. Wormley brings a skillset that collapses one side of the line in the pass rush. If we're rushing from a 43, wormley and Henry at DT could be a special tandem, judon or kaufusi and williams on the ends, bowser and correa at OLB. What the hell man, what a front. And then for a 34 rush front we have kaufusi at the 5, wormley at the 3 with ability to slide wide into the 5, bwill at the nose, or pierce if he does better penetrating the pocket, then williams and bowser at OLB. All with potentially the best secondary in the league. I absolutely cannot believe how much our defense has changed in the past few years, this is gonna be a fun couple of years

Joe should be used to it by now lmao

Still pumped my guy is actually a Raven. Not a typical Ravens type of guy but I'm glad they've seemingly adjusted and took a player built for today's NFL. I'm still a full believer that he's Jamie Collins 2.0

Brian Billick @CoachBillick Tyus Bowser may be the best cover LB in the #NFLDraft...mirrored Dalvin Cook down the field in bowl game and can be a depth blitzer.

Last year I laughed because ATL selected Neal. In the end it's all about fit and how a player can boost your team.
