"If you are not already engaging us and other members of the Ravens Flock on our Facebook page, Instagram account, through Twitter or Snapchat, we invite you to follow us on those channels and continue to participate in our social communities." Go see the freakout on FB about the Jernigan trade and you'll realize how much more stupid shutting down this message board is. This is about as close as engaging in the ways they want us to as they will get. By closing the boards, your shutting down THE major social community you have. Then the draft will come and it will be worse because instead of engaging in football talk about the draft picks, it will be random comments one after the other without any football talk at all. While having all the social media is great, shutting down one form of a community(message board) and having one less way to communicate with fans is terrible. You should be looking at ADDING more ways to communicate and interact with fans, not removing ways.

So your gonna judge his play against a senior tackle when he was a freshman!?really lol good one

Huh ... I find Barnett to be an unexpected entry on this thread. I have to think that, if he's available, there is a strong likelihood that you will be upset by our selection.

When are people going to just ADMIT that it is lack of big name recognition that makes them hate this class... Tunsil and Stanley were 1a and 1b and Tunsil slightly edged out Stanley so therefore he must be the only option because he was the unlikely guy to fall... But Guess what, he fell, and for good reason, and clearly made Stanley the top tackle. 2 players this close in talent are separated by things like injuries and character, where Stanley blows Tunsil out of the water. Just because Tunsil was once the top prospect doesn't mean he was the top prospect come draft night. Treadwell was once a top 10 pick and vh3 Was considered a lock to go top 8 for months, they fell for various reasons in a long and slow process, but the Tunsil ordeal happened suddenly so nobody had time to sour on him. Had someone shined a brighter light on tunsils injuries and lack of pro style experience a month earlier, along with the bong vid, everyone would be singing a different tune.

Well. Given that the forum is shutting down.... I don't care if you are of the opinion of "you're making too many mocks. You need to stop. Devote your time and energy elsewhere. Make another mock "draft telking lyke diz. Et wuz funne" ". Well screw you, I am making one this week, next week, and draft week just to spite you! And then I'm making one the week after that! Why? Because we are going under anyway. Why the hell should I care? Here we go. Round One: Corey Davis, WR *As soon as we draft him. Joe Flacco goes down on his knees in the war room and starts kissing Ozzie's feet.* Joe: "Finally. I have a guy I can build with. Why have you neglected me for so long?" I love Perriman, and I think Joe and Wallace have great chemsitry. But we have the chance to draft a polished guy who can come in immediately and be a #1 WR. He's a good route runner, and smooth. He'd be a hell of a compliment to Perriman, and a red zone threat. Oh, and like Perriman he's good at jump balls. It's about damn time we catch up with the rest of the AFC north. Round Two: Tim Williams, OLB I'd be happy with either Alabama OLB. Williams is the better pass rusher between the two and I think he could have an immediate impact here as an edge player. I have a feeling that Ozzie would be a little more lenient with an Alabama player. Round Three: Pat Elflein, C See literally almost all of my mock drafts. I think with us trading Jernigan(the dumbest move of the offseason by far), we could compensate by finding a future center. Elflein would help our offensive line find an identity. He's nasty, but has some clear-cut issues. However, these issues are coachable, and some of them resulted from unconventional playcalling(credit to @-Truth- for pointing this out to me) that honestly set him up for failure at times. Round Three pt 2: Jake Butt, TE Spoiler alert: Jake Butt will be in every single one of my mocks. Round Four: Cameron Sutton, CB Round 5: Conor McDermott, OT "Bigger and Stronger Offensive line". Well, at 6'9, McDermott covers the bigger part. Let's finally get rid of Hurst shall we? McDermott is NOT a LT at the pro level. But with proper coaching and conditioning he could turn into a very intimidating RT. Which is something we need. He's a much better run blocker than pass blocker and was the only good player on UCLA's oline last season. Overall, even in the piss poor oline class, I feel that McDermott has potential to be a starting RT at the NFL level. Worst case scenario is that we sign a stop-gap like Dunlap and develop McDermott who could be a backup swing tackle. Round 6: Ezra Robinson, CB Another CB. Because we seem obsessed with adding some depth there Anyway, that's my mock. You'll be getting another one sometime next week, and then on draft day. And then after draft day.

Myles Garrett gets man handled by Stanley giving up zero sacks and zero QB pressures.

I can't wait until we draft one of the above guys and then you pretend like you hated them all along in our last week here.

I think Boyle is being considered for juices old role, he fits the bill perfectly as a hard nosed road grader and good route runner who can catch. He may actually be an improvement. Allen would need a lot of coaching for that change, he wouldn't need to slim down much because it would take away from his powerful style, but it's an interesting concept, just a long shot. Wouldn't be against the experiment

Tennessee never played LSU while the two were in college. Sorry, I didn't think what I wrote was complicated.

It is clearly news worthy. Posting it here is a chance for us fans to unite in prayer and support of a beloved Raven. Perhaps others have lost a child and would use this as an opportunity to share a part of their journey. Tell me, why not broadcast this?

I'd like to see Waller go back to WR, at least for some random looks. I think he could really shine if used properly.

How can you not fathom that its a combination of all of the above, not just one single incident. When you have two players roughly ranked 1 and 2 and its not that far apart to some, why would you want the guy with a massive injury history, off the field DV stuff (protecting his mom yes i know), a video of him smoking pot released 5 mins before the draft starts over the guy that has ZERO concerns. Seems that you bank on mock drafts being the end all be all....have fun not living with these issues year in and year out.

Davis Webb becomes the best QB from this class - maybe not right away, but in a couple of years. The Ravens wait until day 3 to draft a CB.

This story hits home for me somewhat. In 2001, I had a brain aneurysm as well and feel fortunate to still be here able to talk about it. Awesome story Garrett.

Not to mention his bend that is just not human like. His balance when he drops that shoulder and shortens those wide turns into the pocket are unreal, it may be the best bend I've ever seen from a college prospect, and best I've seen since Demarcus ware. His burst is ten times what upshaws was, he has an insane bend which upshaw has none of, his hands coming out are better than upshaws in year 4, his inside rush actually involves a setup and disengage, all upshaw did was bullrush, and he isn't the most explosive but he does have an extra gear to take advantage of the slightest opening which he does very consistently. How anyone could dislike Barnett is beyond me, I understand some want an athletic freak edge rusher, but bending and disengaging are hands down the most important aspects of pass rushing and Barnett crushes everyone in those categories.

Anyone O-linemen just think we can get better value later in the draft. Really the only prospects that I would really like at 16 are M. Willams, Davis and Barnett. Which means none will be there. 😩

Our heart and prayers to go up for The Heap Family. To loose a child at any age is tragic. But to loose one in the way your family has, I believe is the most tragic. We don't know why things happen as they do. We can only pray that in some small way that knowledge will come to you and give you peace. We lost our fifth child on Christmas Eve morning in 1978. I blamed myself because I wasn't home I was working overtime at work. I felt that it was my duty to sacrifice my time with the family to earn the money we needed .Everyone experiences their losses differently. We couldn't find peace. We were members of the Episcopal Church. But no peace. We started to attend a Spirit Filled Church we found peace. My fellow workers were so supportive, We were so young we didn't know how to show our appreciation. Our process took years. To this day, there are times when we are caught off guard and we relive the events of that Christmas Eve morning. And that will be 39 years ago this coming Christmas Eve morning. I pray that peace will come swiftly to Todd and Ashley and their other four children. The Lord says "Come unto Me All who are troubled and heavily burdened and I will give you rest." "Take My Yoke upon you and I will give you peace. Lay your sorrows upon Me and I will give you Joy unceasing." Our prayers are that God will lift this family and carry them through these difficult times. God says suffer not the little children, let them come unto ME. All of us are His Children. Todd and Ashley We pray that your child will RIP . I believe she is already home with the Lord.

It's already been broadcast... disagreeing with that fact has nothing to do with your original post. This is mostly a private community. People posting about it here isn't broadcasting. It's a tight knit group sharing their thoughts about a beloved community member. No more no less.

I think people want to grab athletic freaks as edge rushers. There's a million analysts out there extremely focused on quantifying athleticism (for edge players specifically). Guys like Khalil Mack and Von Miller really set that precedent. The Ravens have never really seemed to be extremely concerned with picking up edge rushers with extreme athleticism. The guys they've drafted that most fall into that category- Kindle and Correa- haven't really blown up. It definitely seems like they value strength and technique over raw athleticism, which brings in guys like Suggs, McPhee, Upshaw, ZDS, Judon, more often than the Correa, Kindle types. Barnett definitely fits the mold of what the Ravens seem to look for in an edge player with his elite technique, so he's definitely in the top 5 players I could see the Ravens taking.

So you must never watch the evening news then. I mean none of that is any of your business then is it? Heck if you want to look at it through your point of view how is what I post any of your business? No one expects Todd Heap to read this thread. It is not about him. It is about us as a community supporting him with our thoughts and prayers. The death of Todd Heaps daughter effects many of us. If you say it doesn't effect you then there are bigger issues at hand. And yes to varying degrees I can relate. Can you?

lol, hold the phone, just looked it up, in Barnett's entire career Tennessee has never even faced LSU, in other words this dude just made up Collins dominating Barnett, freshman or not. Last time the two teams faced each other was 2011. Get out of here dude.
  47. 3 points
"But it is fine to push Barnett?? Cuz you think he is going to be a raven." based on? last I checked I've made 4 or 5 mocks this year, not a single has had Barnett as our pick. As already shown, you comparing a freshman Barnett vs. senior Collins is beyond laughable by itself, 18 year old kid isn't ready to take on a 22 year old player with experience, who'da thunk it? Honestly if you don't understand how that is a ridiculous 1 on 1 to go with then you're beyond help. If the highlight of your love of Collins stems from shutting down an 18 year old kid in college then you've got some issues, lets look at Collins at the NFL level - injury prone and supremely inconsistent, so much so that he got benched for Leary last year; I know that doesn't mesh with your "when he was on the field he was graded as the top guard in the league" narrative, but you have yet to provide any source on that and actually watching him couldn't have led you to that conclusion because he certainly didn't play like a top guard to start last year by any measure. "Barnett doesn't have the burst to put NFL tackles in submissive vulnerable positions." disagree and tape says otherwise. He consistently shows plenty of burst. His get off on the snap isn't the greatest granted, but that's not the same as burst - which he has clearly on tape. "He isn't going to overpower NFL tackles." Point being? that's not every EDGE player's game. Few rookies are able to do that regardless, NFL level strength and conditioning is a beautiful thing and Barnett has shown more than enough strength to set the edge against the run and that's all that matters early in his career. Putting together a proper bull rush is much more dependent on technique and leverage than brute strength. "His technique and hand usage isn't going to work against coached up NFL tackles with pro level technique. Not to mention stronger arms and hands." You're literally making things up at this point, have you ever even watched him before?, technique and hand usage is what Barnett does exceptionally well.

See, thats the problem with a lot of fans, they want things and they want it now. Some fans need to understand that it takes time to build a competitor. From what Danny D is saying, he would of been disappointed and wrote off Ogden after the first 3 games of his career. I think that says enough about his skills to evaluate
