The Webb deal is fantastic. There are several possibilities now. 1. We can move Jefferson down to ILB on nickle/dime packages while Webb plays safety. Allowing Jefferson to cover TEs(something he does very well), and having two good safeties over the top 2. Webb can play slot CB when Jimmy goes down. Tavon proved he's more than capable of holding his own on the outside. Webb provides much needed depth and veteran experience. 3. 3 safety sets could be a thing now. We use a third safety a lot in the rotation, and Webb would still be playing a lot. All in all I think it is safe to say we have the best safety core in the entire league. We need to go draft an edge rusher and I like the direction of the defense

Maybe you think that but the actual smart people in the league don't. RTs or OGs make about 12 mil per year max. Chandler Jones is getting way more than that and he ain't the only one. Also where did I say I wanted Leary? Are you even reading what I said? I said he outplayed Collins at Guard which he did. Collins at RT is a question mark given he hasn't played the position in the NFL. The fact the Cowboys didn't play him there with Doug Free being their weakest link could indicate they aren't huge fans of him at RT. Also Collins was not a better prospect than Stanley or Tunsil and I'd take Scherff over him as well. Sorry but trading the 16th pick for a guard/RT a year from FA is stupid.

lol hes a project, a lot of players take time to develop, a lot of players have to find a comfort zone and settle in, correa didnt even know what position he would be playing until zach orr retired, and still isnt certain because if we draft/sign another ILB he could be moving again. i dont know what you consider NFL skills but he has a lot of raw talent and Boise State is notorious for leaving players uncoached. do you need a list of players who didnt break out as rookies and developed later on? because it appears you just began watching the NFL in 2016 and truly dont know how often players dont break out as rookies.

If Mike Wallace goes down our offense is done for.We have ZERO depth at WR and our run game cant be counted on.Im hopeful that Perriman can become a good player, but expecting him to go from what we saw last year to a guy who can carry the load in the passing game is a bit much.Dont neg me for saying this lol,but a WR corps with just Perriman,Moore,a mid to late round draft pick(I'm assuming we'll draft atleast atleast a mid to late round WR ) and Campanaro could/would easily be the worst WR corps in the league. If its Perriman who has another knee issue and is out then I still wouldnt feel comfortable with just Wallace,Moore and Camp. IMO its a must that we go after one of the big three WRs in the first round.Corey Davis is my fave for who we should pick at 16 or trade up for if he drops out of the top 10.My only worry with him is the no name DBs he faced in college. After watching John Ross games repeatedly since the combine and seeing him work Adoree Jackson I feel like hes more of a sure thing, but I still like Davis' upside more.Another reason I'm thinking we should go after one of these WRs is because its not every year that we're in position to draft WRs this dynamic and with this much upside. What are you guys/girls thoughts on our WR depth?Do you agree that its a must that we take a WR in the first round and if so who?
  15. 3 points
Much prefer C Davis to Mike Williams , Davis will be a game changer, I don't think he will be there at 16, but I'm beginning to believe the Ravens wont be picking at 16 either (Trading back looks like its gaining momentum)

Stupid to give up the 16th pick for an average guard a year from FA? YEAH, why else do you think you are getting negged like crazy lol. Considering how Leary did well in 2014 and this past year while Free has struggled the past couple years, yeah it would make more sense for the Cowboys to move Collins to RT if they liked him there. They didn't move him though and if they are more comfortable with Free at the position, doesn't really look good for Collins at RT here. Yeah, had Scherff higher and still do. Considering he went in the top 5 while Collins was maybe the 15th best player in the class before the whole situation with him, I'd say a lot of people agree with me. You really need to get over your man crush on Collins, it is getting kinda sad at this point. Pretty sure people have already commented loads of people better than Collins around the league. Go dig for it and watch some actual film on those guys. Honestly I would love to be around RSR just for the entertainment value of watching you say Collins is better than guys like KO, Yanda, among many others but I'm gonna have to pass that responsibility to others. Don't worry, I am sure they will laugh at you just as much haha

No, you don't get it. You don't draft an undersized RB at 16 overall to play WR just because you think it's cool. Mcaffrey is not a 16 overall talent, I, along with basically everyone else, just don't agree with you on this. there are a lot of factors as to why mcaffrey would be a really dumb pick we have 2 young backs who played really well last year despite a horrible line, and we haven't addressed that line yet, which is more important. RB is still devalued despite the recent uptrend, you have to be a truly special talent and an absolute beast to be taken that high, zeke and gurley blow mcaffrey out the water, along with fournette and cook. hes an undersized rb that needs to be schemed, he's a piece, not a centerpiece we will be looking at the likes of Robinson, lamp, McDowell, reddick, Davis, t. Williams, possibly mike Williams, possibly foster, and in no way could we justify taking him over any of them you don't draft a rb midway through the first and put him at wr, you just don't.

I think Jernigan will be a solid player for the Eagles and he should have continued success.... I feel like we have the players ready and able to replace him here and I understand the trade.... I just stick by what I said... all along.. I just wish we would have gotten more for him. I disagree with Ozzie's assessment that we got appropriate value. This is a guy who is a starter at minimum. This is a guy who has potential to be a pro-bowler.... a former 2nd round pick. - who we didn't receive a third round pick for but instead moved up in the 3rd round for. I think Timmy has a greater value then what we got for him. Ozzie has to say that though. We should have moved up in the third and received a 5th for him or moved up in the 2nd and received a 6th.
  24. 2 points
Why is McDowell the hot name all of a sudden? I get we traded Timmy but I wouldn't read into things too much. Supremely talented player but a ton of question marks that come along with him. I would not be considering him at 16 at this point.

im starting to see a situation where we get on the board and barnett, davis and williams are all gone and we end up trading back a few spots and taking one of mckinley, mcdowell, tim williams, robinson, lamp - i could see all 5 of those guys being there and could get behind any one of those guys and we pick up an extra pick id be 100% fine with mcdowell at 16 though as long as ozzie and eric are happy about the character concerns and his motivation/love of football

Marshon Lattimore Sidney Jones Marlon Humphrey Quincey Wilson Tre White Gareon Conley Kevin King Chidobe Awuzie Ahkello Witherspoon Fabian Moreau Teez Tabor Adoree Jackson Howard Wilson Treston Decoud Shaquill Griffin Cordrea Tankersley Des Lawrence Damonte Kazee Jeremy Curtrer Up until Howard Wilson I think they all have some combination of coverage skills, ball skills, size/length and athleticism that projects to possibly becoming a #1. Howard Wilson on have some traits or characteristics that can project but need serious work in some area to ever become that. And then there's a few guys like Corn Elder for example who I really like, but don't see ever becoming a #1 but could be really good in their niche role, like in the slot for the Elder example. And its seeming possible that someone like Witherspoon, Moreau or Sidney Jones could be around early 3rd where we get a guy who has 1st round talent/traits that's fallen bc of injury or inexperience. I would actually prefer waiting to take a CB til the 3rd if any of the guys listed above Wilson are still on the board.

What on earth does flacco have to do with the way teams have changed the way they draft?
  38. 2 points
I think the guys guaranteed to go before us are: Myles Garret Jonathan Allen Jamal Adams Malik Hooker Marshon Lattimore Solomon Thomas Then there's a group that I'd say are almost guaranteed to be gone, but there is a small chance or odd scenario where they could fall and one is there (and almost no way more than one of these would be available): Leonard Fournette OJ Howard Rueben Foster Mike Williams Then a group that very well could go ahead and are prob top 15 type players, but have a decent chance to be there: Derek Barnett Corey Davis Haason Reddick And then finally the group of players (x-factor types or guys who the media are all over the place on, are raw but have elite traits, elite talents with red flags, reaches for need, injury concerns, or guys that someone top 15 falls in love with) that could be the reason a guy from group 2 is available or makes multiple from group 3: Mitch Trubisky, Deshuan Watson, Patrick Mahomes, Deshon Kizer Gareon Conley, Tre White, Marlon Humphrey Dalvin Cook, Joe Mixon, Christian McCaffery Jabrill Peppers Ryan Ramczyk, Forrest Lamp, Garret Bolles, Cam Robinson Takk McKinley, Taco Charlton, Tim Williams John Ross

Right on. Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and Mat Burk retired. What are Ravens still looking for? Linebacker, Safety, and a Center.5 years later. Has everyone forgot about the nightmare when Matt Burk retired in 2013?

what makes you think we would have gotten a 4th round pick for him? That's not a guarantee. Nope you are right we could have got a 3rd.... I was just being conservative in making my point but your right.... we may have traded away a starter and two 3rd round picks for a higher 3rd round pick! SMH A 3rd? LOL. It's more likely we would've received a 5th, or nothing than a 3rd. This is another A+ move by the FO this offseason. Short Term, and Long Term i want what your smoking

Overall I like this draft a lot. It's a pretty serious investment in our line and in Joe. My biggest gripe is that the DB is underrepresented. We are a Jimmy Smith injury away from being in pretty much the same predicament as last season. In this draft, I'd like to think we could land two starter quality corners. Love the Ejuan Price pick. I like all your picks except Goforth.....question as to whether Elfleien is there mid 3 but I could be wrong on that. Good mock.

i do, just not my most preferred. honestly, cam scares me because of our coaching staff. he has a lot of work to do before becoming a starting OT, and with harbaugh being so damn insistent on alex lewis being some stud guard, which i disagree with, then Cams fit on this line is concerning. what is the best move? obviously putting cam at LG and Lewis at RT, no matter how uncomfortable lewis may have looked at OT last year the upgrade cam would bring on the inside is a far bigger upgrade to the entire line than having cam at RT and lewis at LG. also consider the big bunch of nothingness we have at RT right now, lewis appears to be easily the best option, and lewis may very well be a better option than cam there. unless lewis is an absolute liability at RT then i dont see how that isnt a massive upgrade to the line

I'm not real savvy as far as scouting guys and what not but I definitely know these two guys are on our radar. I think that Decosta might believe we can trade back into the early 20s and still land Tak too. Would be a gamble but genius if it worked. Plus either way there will be nice alternative options there if it didnt... Feeney- Conley - Wilson- Harris- White- Williams. Could even trade back twice and then take Watt and wreak absolute havoc in the 2nd & third. A lot of depth and talent in those rounds. We could take Pocic, Zay / Kupp, Moton, And still get a top graded corner and have our pick of the litter. That would give us a potential 6 picks in the first 3 rounds. And don't forget about the now early third we got from moving jernigan. We can do some real damage if we play it right. We currently have ALOT of roster spots to fill too so I think we will be doing a lot of moving around- back and forth.

I think my bigger issue is that he's fall under the typical "group think" thing we have around here. One person starts to like a player and suddenly, tons of other people seem to join in.

Maybe find a stud LG in the draft, and move Lewis to RT...
  48. 1 point
Well we do have CJ Mosley, who's pretty good. If you fools still think we're going to find the next Ray Lewis or Ed Reed before you even die, you're just fooling yourself. There's 31 other teams teams in the league, and they've spent decades looking for players of that caliber. We haven't had them for all of about 5 years. O the humanity! Yes, everybody forgot Birk. He wasn't here that long, was pretty average at the end, and the Ravens were pretty good in 2014 without him. Again, its been a whopping like 3-4 years, and you guys act like its been an eternity. A little perspective goes a long way folks. Starting to get back to the way it was a few months ago, when it was quite obvious that a lot of you fans actually DESERVE a losing team. "quite obvious that a lot of you fans actually DESERVE a losing team" LOL you continue to amaze. Who do you think you are? lol you must be a fun person away from the computer as well.....
