"If you are not already engaging us and other members of the Ravens Flock on our Facebook page, Instagram account, through Twitter or Snapchat, we invite you to follow us on those channels and continue to participate in our social communities." Go see the freakout on FB about the Jernigan trade and you'll realize how much more stupid shutting down this message board is. This is about as close as engaging in the ways they want us to as they will get. By closing the boards, your shutting down THE major social community you have. Then the draft will come and it will be worse because instead of engaging in football talk about the draft picks, it will be random comments one after the other without any football talk at all. While having all the social media is great, shutting down one form of a community(message board) and having one less way to communicate with fans is terrible. You should be looking at ADDING more ways to communicate and interact with fans, not removing ways.

What's ironic is Sami raved about Davis after we drafted him so I guess the Great Sami messed up, too.

I'm not the biggest Ross fan, but I think some people are overthinking it a bit. Ross is a playmaker, and this team is really short on playmakers. Most people look at the 4.22 speed and think he's only a downfield guy but he can function in a lot of different roles as a WR. He's not the prototypical chains mover type but that doesn't mean he wouldn't fit here. Furthermore, Wallace is going to be here for 1 more year, Moore might have actually dropped more than he caught last year, and Perriman is still a work in progress that remains a giant question mark. There's certainly room for Ross even with all of the other "speed" guys we have. I'd prefer not to take Ross at 16 but I can't dismiss the possibility.

no, the QB is on my team as well. I payed for him to have surgery and all his bones were replaced with titanium rods. His muscles are all wrapped in a proprietary carbon fiber / kevlar composite. He will never injure a muscle or break a bone. So, no the starting QB will never go down. and no you can not tour the facility where my team practices.

I love how Flacco sucks but Wentz is getting compared to Flacco as a positive. Lol. Media makes no sense sometimes.
  16. 6 points
This. He did nothing in the last four games. All of his sacks came in the first half of the season.

I have to disagree. Jernigan was penalty prone and inconsistent as all hell. There's no guarantee he was going to be some stud in his contract year, and no guarantee we were going to get a decent comp pick after he left. This big of a move up in a draft that's loaded at positions we need is a good deal.

Well after my April fools mock I figured I'd put out something serious. Round One: Forrest Lamp, OG. Forrest Lamp is as good of a guard prospect as I've scouted. With reports coming out that we are considering moving Lewis to RT(or C, but honestly I'd rather have him at RT) I think Lamp is on our board, and he projects best at guard. Stanley gets some help on the left side of the line, meanwhile we get a potential future all pro at guard. Not a bad get at all even if I'd rather have an edge rusher. I could also see us draftin Ramcyzk. Either way I'd be happy. Round Two: Ryan Anderson, Edge, Alabama I hate missing out on an edge rusher in the first round, but this class is so loaded at the position that we can actually afford to do this. Anderson is a jack of all trades, master of none. Meaning he fits our defense like a glove. An elite pass rusher? Hell no. Good successor to Suggs? Potentially. He could easily become a guy who gets 10+ sacks a year given his football IQ and athleticism. I like his game a lot and he's tailor made for the defense. Remember, our defense fared very well last year without having a legit #1 guy. We get a guy in Anderson who could become a #1 guy, and he's an immediate upgrade. It's a pick that makes sense. Round 3: Pat Elflein, C As far as NFL draft prospects go, you can't go wrong with Pat Elflein at Center. He has problems, some in which are bad, but overall given his high football IQ and obvious mean streak, at worst he could be a decent starting center at the NFL level. He could be a plug and play player from day one, and fits the mold that we are looking for along the offensive line. Round Three Comp: Jake Butt, TE Anyone who knows me at all knows I love Jake Butt and I cannot lie(you other brothers can't deny). He's a literal tight end, his last name is butt. But even with his injury, I see him developing into a very good pro. I know people will be claimoring for a WR, but Butt has no weakness in his game other than his average athleticsm. But regardless of which he's still good enough after the catch and a good blocker. Since we are moving Boyle to FB, and I don't trust Pitta, Waller, or Watson, and Crockett at all, I think a #2 TE is in order. Butt has #1 potential, and he might be our #2. The Harbaugh connection is strong. Also.. "Hehehehe. Bottom" Round Four: Ryan Switzer, WR. Confession: I like Perriman and Wallace going forward. I think both of them are good outside options. What we lack is an underneath guy. Enter Ryan Switzer. A shifty little guy who has good hands, and deceptive after the catch ability. Combine that with his good route running, and his ability to find zones, and you're talking about a guy who could have a Cole Beasley type impact, which has proven to be a very good thing. I don't trust Campanaro to stay healthy. Likewise, Switzer can become the guy on punt returns going forward. Round Five: Randall Goforth, DB Want a guy who can play either CB or safety? He's your man. We use that a lot, and frankly after a Jimmy Smith injury I think that we could use a guy like Goforth. I trust Tavon Young to move up to the outside and Goforth could easily fill in as a third safety, or as a slot CB. Either way, he helps the defense. Round Six: Ejuan Price, OLB I have a feeling that a lot of teams are gonna pass up on the guy due to the depth in this class/his size. But who cares about that? The dude can play. He has issues in the run game, which shouldn't be a problem, and can put pressure on the QB. If we can resign a Dumervil type and let him develop, Price could be a player going forward. Anyway, hope y'all like it. Or not. Either way screw you, I have one more coming anyway on draft day.

You mean pro-bowler who made more penalties than plays in his career so far?
  29. 5 points
Yeah then we'll complain on the New board about how we lost him and didn't resign him. He wouldn't have gotten us a high comp pick like Wagner will. I'm happy we got something for him that benefits us now opposed to 2 years from now.

Maybe this quick analysis will make you see why this is much more probably gonna end up being a good move than a bad one And if you're familiar with RSR, you know that Tony Lombardy isn't the guy who will defend everything about the Ravens organization's actions. Sorry bio, I will take a motivated Timmy and his production and a possible 3rd round comp pick next draft over moving up 25 spots in the third round this draft any day. IMHO Lombardi is the one who is wrong. He did not convince me one bit with his argument.
  34. 4 points
Eh, they obviously had some issues with Jernigan other than this being the last year on his rookie contract. For me it's not that big of a deal losing him. He's been inconsistent and has made some pretty dumb mistakes. Good they were able to move up in the third round in a deep draft.

Between 74 and 99 board can get completely cleaned up
  36. 4 points
What if say... a guy like Elflein is available at 74 and wouldn't have been at 99 and moving Jernigan is the difference between us landing a franchise C for the next 10 years or picking a backup CB or something. This move will be judged on how Pierce/Henry play and what we get at 74. Period.

I truly enjoyed talking Orioles baseball with everyone that ventured down to the Off-Topic Forum. From the bottom of my heart I want to say, I am really going to miss everyone's company when these boards close. For a few more weeks at least, I hope to see some familiar posts when Crush Davis hits them out of the park God bless everyone! Go O's!!!!!!!!!

I think a huge root of the problem is a lot of us, especially myself, put too much stock into how well this team would play with Flacco coming off an acl/mcl tear, your best target coming off an achilles tear, your other wide receiver coming off two acl tears, and no proven guy at running back (after cutting an injured and old Forsett). Also two rookies on the line didn't help, the injuries didn't help but the team should have had better depth. Hindsight we should've known that with the offensive coordinator changes and everything else changing in the offense, that it would take time for the offense to click. Unfortunately by the time the offense started clicking was when the defense lost Jimmy Smith and started to slip. The Ravens need consistency on offense. There is too many moving pieces each year that it is no wonder that the team struggles. That includes the coaching staff. Looking at the top offenses over the years, the best ones are the ones that have the same core group of people year in and out.

No, no! Hire me. I can throw INTs with the best of the backups.
  44. 4 points
Can I be backup QB? I don't want to play too much but I want on field access and a nice salary for sitting on the sidelines. Plus I can play a couple good games if the starter gets injured and get paid 72 mil in free agency(which gives you a third round comp pick).

The reaction to Stanley reminds me of people's reactions to Mosley. A ton of people complained when Mosley got picked, and he's gone on to be a great player. i think the same thing happens here with Stanley.
