1) TJ Watt
Watt still doesn't get credit for how good he has been this season. To get 11.5 sacks when you're asked to do so many things outside of rushing the passer is nothing short of impressive. When he rushes, he is absolutely great. He wins with motor, elite hand placement, leverage, twitch and good enough bend. His short area quickness turns OTs into turnstile and I don't see him not translating if his knees are OK and if he's used well.
2) Pat Elflein
Elflein has owned the 2nd pick more than any other player when I was imaginating mocks during the year. He is a Day one starter that adds strength, versatility, polish, smartness and leadership to our OL. He is absolutely needed on this football team.
3) Desmond King
A few weeks ago, King said he felt like the Ravens would be a great fit for him, and while I didn't see it at first, now I completely agree. After the addition of Carr and Jefferson, we basically need some depth. How about a player that can be lined up as a FS, SS, in the slot or on the outside, and play CB in a zone or press. King is a physical player that will make an impact very early because he can help us in an infinity of ways.
3b) Isaiah Ford
I was actually happy that he didn't run fast at the Combine because it's going to prevent teams from realizing he's a great prospect. Ford has all the makings to be at least a very good WR2 in the NFL, from body control to ball skills and attitude, and to be able to snatch him at this point is the definition of a steal. Need meets value.
4) Adam Bisnowaty
Bisnowaty is one of the best bargain at OT in this draft, as he has the mobility and the anchor to be a good pass protector, with the nastyness and the leverage to get some push in the run game. I don't expect him to be an All World, but I don't think the dropoff between Wagner and him is going to be too big which is a win for a 4th rounder.
5) Wayne Gallman
Gallman is a bit on thin for the NFL but I love his ability to tire defenses and always keep his feet moving. He's a quick runner and has great vision. He needs to progress with ball security, pass pro, gain some muscle and improve some little parts of his game but I really expect him to contribute when his number is called and potentially become a workhorse back. He ran slow at the combine but he is a terror in space, and in the 5th round he's typically the type of bargain that I love.
I'll stop here, not much sense going to the last two rounds where it's usually madness, but I guess a little DL help would be nice too. Have fun with the comments!
