Apologies in advance for how long this post will be - because i was using excel to collate everything it's difficult for it to format well into this forum: i considered just putting it all on a google drive for y'all but that doesn't really seem like the done thing here... If it is I can maybe collate it all on a google drive and post a link to make it easier... Apologies as well for the bizarre post earlier that obviously didn't work. I'll start with my mock because it's easiest i reckon. I tried not to be too obvious as far as possible but within reason so a lot of the picks will look familiar I imagine. I fully mocked 2 rounds and then drafted in the ball park for the other picks: MOCK DRAFT Round 1 1) Browns - Myles Garrett - EDGE 2) 49ers - Jonathan Allen - DL: I find it hard to see the 49ers three-peating with DL in the first but the Jets kind of did it in the past and there's no offensive talent for Shanahan to clamour for at this spot. I could very much see the 49ers trying to trade out of this spot for a team that loves a qb and thinks the bears / jets will take one. 3) Bears - Solomon Thomas - DL: Thomas is a missing piece on that defence but I could also see the Bears trying to trade out of this spot too - it's reported that both the Jets and Browns are interested in Trubisky but there were quotes from a scout saying the Jets were in love with Trubisky but that he wouldn't make it to 6 - I personally have a feeling that's a Titans scout trying to scare a team into trading with them at number 5. 4) Jaguars - Leonard Fournette - RB 5) Titans - Jamal Adams - S 6) Jets - Marshon Lattimore - CB: The jets may take Trubisky but I'm going to err away from the side of sensationalism. 7) Chargers - Malik Hooker - S 8) Panthers - OJ Howard - TE: Greg Olsen is getting older and there are no linemen worthy of this pick I think - OJ Howard gives Cam Newton a weapon he'll find it hard to miss. 9) Bengals - Derek Barnett - EDGE: Game-changer off the edge, I'd hate this but it makes a lot of sense. 10) Bills - Mike Williams - WR: They need help opposite Sammy Watkins (or to replace him when he's injured) 11) Saints - Reuben Foster - ILB 12) Browns - Mitchell Trubisky - QB: They apparently really like him so if he falls to 12 I see them pulling the trigger. 13) Cardinals - Deshaun Watson - QB: I struggled with this pick so looked around the league - I have the impression that the Cardinals are happy at qb but there is a growing idea that they'll pick a qb here. 14) Eagles - Dalvin Cook - RB 15) Colts - Forest Lamp - OL 16) Ravens - Corey Davis - WR: He's a different kind of receiver to what Flacco has at the moment. The worries about the level of competition are obviously real but I have confidence that he can transition well because of his elite route-running skills and ability to hands-catch. 17) Washington - Haason Reddick - LB 18) Titans - John Ross - WR 19) Bucs - Christian Mccaffrey - RB 20) Broncos - Cam Robinson - OL 21) Lions - Tim Williams - EDGE 22) Dolphins - Zach Cunningham - ILB 23) Giants - Ryan Ramcyzk - OL 24) Raiders - Marlon Humphrey - CB 25) Texans - Garrett Bolles - OL 26) Seahawks - Teez Tabor - CB 27) Chiefs - Dan Feeney - OL 28) Cowboys - Gareon Conley - CB 29) Packers - Taco Charlton - EDGE 30) Steelers - Takk Mckinley - EDGE 31) Falcons - Budda Baker - S 32) Saints - Tredavius White - CB: I'm assuming the trade for Malcolm Butler doesn't happen and that the Saints need a corner. Round 2 1) Browns - Obi Melifonwu - S 2) 49ers - Quincy Wilson - CB 3) Jags - Jabrill Peppers - S 4) Bears - Deshone Kizer - QB 5) Rams - Charles Harris - EDGE 6) Chargers: Jarrad Davis - EDGE 7) Jets - Alvin Kamara - RB 8) Panthers - Adoree Jackson - CB 9) Bengals - Cooper Kupp - WR 10) Saints - Malik Mcdowell - DL 11) Eagles - David Njoku - TE 12) Bills - Patrick Mahomes - QB 13) Cardinals - Pat Elflein - OL 14) Colts - TJ Watt - EDGE 15) Ravens - Carl Lawson - EDGE: The injuries are a potential issue but he has legitimate first round talent and can wreck off the edge which is why he probably is untouchable for the ravens until now. Ryan Anderson/Evan Engram could be the pick if we are too uncomfortable with his injuries. 16) Vikings - Zay Jones - WR 17) Washington - Davis Webb - QB 18) Bucs - Ryan Anderson - EDGE 19) Broncos - Dion Dawkins - OL 20) Browns - Chidobe Awuzie - CB 21) Lions - Joe Mixon - RB 22) Dolphins - Jourdan Lewis - CB 23) Giants - Sidney Jones - CB 24) Raiders - Dont'a Foreman - RB 25) Texans - Evan Engram - TE 26) Seahawks - Taylor Moton - OL 27) Chiefs - Dede Westbrook - WR 28) Cowboys - Demarcus Walker - EDGE 29) Packers - Tanoh Kpassagnon - EDGE 30) Steelers - Kevin King - CB 31) Falcons - Ethan Pocic - OL 32) Panthers - Curtis Samuel - WR Round 3 Fabian Moreau - CB: A highly accomplished corner with first round talent who will most likely fall a little bit due to the sheer numbers of corners and the injury that will keep him out of OTAs etc. If he is taken then I could see Isaac Asiata or Howard Wilson being the pick here. Akhello Witherspoon - CB: Double dipping at corner might not be expected here but I think these guys could be the BPA picks at both these spots. Witherspoon is a brilliant cover corner who maybe shies away from contact too much but could maybe see a philosophy change once he's getting good money to make tackles and in our case to even get on the field. I could see these two corners developing really well together behind carr, smith and with tavon. Round 4 Anthony Garcia - OL: An interesting tackle prospect with some elite traits. He has great quickness and the ability to mirror edge rushers, is rarely beaten with speed. His major problem and it may not be fixable even in an NFL weight program is his body frame - he mostly plays under 300 which isnt ideal and im not sure he has the frame to add much more weight. He could be a useful addition to the right tackle competition - but i wonder how he'd hold up against bull rushers. Round 5 Donnel Pumphrey - RB: He's mocked to us a lot I think around here and I wanted to do something new but he makes a lot of sense. Running back help including someone with a twitchy type speed albeit maybe it isnt quite the breakaway speed we've been yearning. Round 6 Deatrich Wise Jr - EDGE: A guy who didn't have the greatest production but didnt show too many reasons why it wasnt working. He has potential as a late guy - probably projected in the 5th but I could see him dropping down to this round just because of all the combine notables and other guys who have more production this last year. 1st round: I'm completely fine with this pick. I'd rather take Davis if he's on the board, but with Barnett gone, Williams would be my number second option. 2nd: Juju could be a good chain moving WR, but I think this is too early for him. If the Ravens go WR in the second and Zay Jones is gone, I'd sooner pick Chris Godwin. 3rd: I think it's a bit too early for him. He seemed more like a fourth rounder prospect, or possibly late third. Though it's not a bad pick. I think he could be a starting RT in his rookie year. 3rd comp: I like this pick. Jernigan is possibly on his way out and the other guys aren't the best at stopping the run. Someone that can stuff the run and get penetration is exactly what the Ravens need at 3-4 DE. 4th: I've been a fan of his for awhile and mentioned him as a pick for us like half a year ago. The Ravens are looking for physical, mean-streak blockers so we might as well get a RB in the same mold. The thing I like about Perine is that he does have enough speed to turn an opening into a big run. Not a fifty yard td kind of big run, but a solid fifteen to twenty yards before getting brought down. As much as I like Dixon, it would be good to have an insurance policy due to him missing a lot of time so far.

The more I check out my favorite board and type away and read away, I'm struck by how lonely and uneventful my life will be when they yank away this board for good May 5th! I just don't see why they're doing it because I promise them on my future grave, I'll never ever follow them on facebook or twitter ever period! You still have time to reconsider and make Ravens fans really happy and relieved!

    1) TJ Watt Watt still doesn't get credit for how good he has been this season. To get 11.5 sacks when you're asked to do so many things outside of rushing the passer is nothing short of impressive. When he rushes, he is absolutely great. He wins with motor, elite hand placement, leverage, twitch and good enough bend. His short area quickness turns OTs into turnstile and I don't see him not translating if his knees are OK and if he's used well. 2) Pat Elflein Elflein has owned the 2nd pick more than any other player when I was imaginating mocks during the year. He is a Day one starter that adds strength, versatility, polish, smartness and leadership to our OL. He is absolutely needed on this football team. 3) Desmond King A few weeks ago, King said he felt like the Ravens would be a great fit for him, and while I didn't see it at first, now I completely agree. After the addition of Carr and Jefferson, we basically need some depth. How about a player that can be lined up as a FS, SS, in the slot or on the outside, and play CB in a zone or press. King is a physical player that will make an impact very early because he can help us in an infinity of ways. 3b) Isaiah Ford I was actually happy that he didn't run fast at the Combine because it's going to prevent teams from realizing he's a great prospect. Ford has all the makings to be at least a very good WR2 in the NFL, from body control to ball skills and attitude, and to be able to snatch him at this point is the definition of a steal. Need meets value. 4) Adam Bisnowaty Bisnowaty is one of the best bargain at OT in this draft, as he has the mobility and the anchor to be a good pass protector, with the nastyness and the leverage to get some push in the run game. I don't expect him to be an All World, but I don't think the dropoff between Wagner and him is going to be too big which is a win for a 4th rounder. 5) Wayne Gallman Gallman is a bit on thin for the NFL but I love his ability to tire defenses and always keep his feet moving. He's a quick runner and has great vision. He needs to progress with ball security, pass pro, gain some muscle and improve some little parts of his game but I really expect him to contribute when his number is called and potentially become a workhorse back. He ran slow at the combine but he is a terror in space, and in the 5th round he's typically the type of bargain that I love. I'll stop here, not much sense going to the last two rounds where it's usually madness, but I guess a little DL help would be nice too. Have fun with the comments!

So voch lumbardi did a mock draft and he had us take Malik McDowell. No qb went top 15 and the only other guy worth taking was Ross or cam Robinson. I love maliks potential but I really worry about his inconsistencies. But if he does pan out he's a top 5 talent. I just didn't like his interviews and he's a very hard study in terms of character. I don't think he's a bad kid, doesn't seem to get in trouble but he just seems a bit lazy and doesn't have a great work ethic. Same was said about Stanley last year but i think that was a bit overblown

I love Williams as a player but I find it hard to take him at 16 with the reported and even self-admitted issues. If we do take him, I imagine it means that Ozzie did a lot of checking with his Alabama connections, but still find it hard to believe at this time.

Even I usually am a lot more excited playing this game but this year. I don't know if its because of limited activity or what but I feel the game is almost at the point of run its course. Or maybe the board closing has something to do with it, it doesn't have that feel to it like it has in the past. I hope on the new board we can revive this game next year and make it what it has been in years prior.

Ravens had one of the worst pass rushing defenses in the league last year. Let's not get rid of our best one

2nd round pick for Jernigan who's gone next year anyway is a coup. I'd be on board 100% Jernigans talent is real but his lack of consistency is frustrating. Some team really could make a play for him because they want to contribute now and have first dibs at getting him long term, trade for him and avoid a bidding war, extend him with a prove it deal. Makes sense. Doubt it happens though
  23. 3 points
While I find it very hard to believe this to be true, you do have to consider they just made Williams the highest paid NT in the NFL, have Jimmy as a very highly paid corner, Jefferson getting paid at S, and Mosley will be up in two years. I'd be much happier with him on the team than off.

I like it. Desmond king is iffy but your right about having depth and always good to have somebody that can move around in a pinch. Watt at 16 is also questionable only BC we could get him much later- so a tradeback would be ideal there- but hey if your coming away with a great player what difference does it make in the grand scheme of things? Nice mock.

unless jernigan decides he wants to play his way out of baltimore in year 4 by suddenly showing up for 16 games, then i dont think hes gonna get as much as youre thinking on the market. like everyone said, he has shown flashes, but he has entirely disappeared for 8-10 weeks a year, been outplayed by no names like lawrence guy and brent urban, and hasnt shown up in big moments at all to make people take notice of his talent. this isnt like brandon williams where he is legit the best run stopping NT in the league, this is a middle of the pack, highly inconsistent DT who draws 15 yard flags as often as he makes splash plays. id be highly surprised if he nets us anything more than a 4th, and of course if you wanna play this game then you have to factor in other free agents as well, if we go in hoping for a comp from jernigan that once again limits what we can do in free agency, trading him now eliminates that burden
  37. 2 points
Here's my logic on that. Why would we trade him for anything less than a 2nd? Think about it, we lose his game for a full year (this year) and then we let him walk next year because we couldn't afford to pay him (afford being the operative word). Jernigan will make silly bucks in the open market for sure and will assure us a 3rd round compensatory pick in 2019. I don't see us trading him for other than a 2nd round pick or an exchange for an equally impactful player. I would be disappointed if we just traded him now for anything less than a 2nd and lose his services for 2017...

People say this all the time, and the facts continue to prove that it isn't remotely close to being true. If Flacco doesn't elevate the play of those around him, then how does Torrey Smith go from averaging over 800 yds and 7 tds to being virtually worthless in SF? Steve Smith was better at 35 and 36 with Joe than he was in his last couple years with CAR. Did he age backwards or did playing with Joe help him out? Mike Wallace's career was taking a nose dive until last year. Ed Dickson even had much better receiving numbers with Joe than he's had in CAR. We've never seen one receiver fail to be productive with Flacco and then light it up somewhere else. Never. Not even close. Meanwhile, whenever Brady gets hurt, his backup comes in and plays very well and wins games, but Brady gets credit for making others better and Flacco does not.

Derek Barnett might be the best pass rusher in the draft, even over garrett, i can't believe some media guys still think he'll fall to the late 1st - i guess if he does then all the better for us at 16 but I struggle to see him get past the bengals, saints, eagles and colts - if he does then we should get usain bolt in to run that namecard to the podium

Me myself personally in all three regards like when a WR does his thing after a big catch or TD! When Jacoby Jones danced in the endzone after scoring those two TDs in the Super Bowl can anyone say they weren't just as happy?! Triple " S " backed it up week after week and got his respect from players on the opposite team! Jernigan is our dancer now on Defense and he is doing his thing also so Diva or Soldier catch the rock make a good play and do your thing! They work hard so they can play hard as well! And these players that just love the game are not getting in trouble on or off the field! Well maybe on the field a Lil bit Lol!

Yes, we did fall short by inches, and no, we couldn't tell the Ravens were not championship ready. I bet you could "tell the Ravens weren't championship ready" after their 3rd consecutive loss in Dec of 2012, just like many of the other fans could. The fact is that we've made the playoffs or been extremely close in 8 of the last 9 years. The only time we weren't a playoff contender was when every one of our starting skill players went to IR. There's no reason not to be optimistic.
