What don't you people understand... cutting or trading flacco is a 47 million cap hit that would force us to cut well over half of our starters and major contributors just to get even with the cap. We aren't just trading joe, we are dismantling the ENTIRE TEAM with this move and we aren't just getting rid of joe and drafting players, we would need to draft an entire roster over the next decade and have every early pick go well just to be competitive by the mid 2020s.

When I was at UCF, they lived in the same building where my dorm was at. Both of them seemed like really cool guys from the number of times I've passed them from and to my room. That being said, I know nothing of his football ability. I can't stress enough how little I pay attention to prospects compared to the game itself (hence why I just lurk and read these draft threads to keep up lol). Of course I would love my fellow Knights to be Ravens like Aiken and Perriman. Speaking of Perriman, I actually got to see him near my dorm like a month before the draft last year. Dude was in good spirits. Totally rooting for him as well. Sorry for going off a tangent, but yeah.

I don't think you get it. Joe's 24M cap hit is destroying the team and the only way to fix it is to almost double that cap hit while he plays for another team. With Ryan Mallett at the helm, and Cleveland's 2 first rounders that we'll spend on a DE and WR, we'll dominate the league!!!! We'll just ask every other player to take a pay cut to mitigate Joe's dead cap hit and I'm sure they'll all do it with a smile. /sarcasm

And that's the kind of statement that drives the "Flacco lovers" nuts. As a matter of fact, the Ravens were in the top 3rd of the league in AVOIDING 3 and outs. He was NOT failing to move the chains at a high rate. Granted, there were too many failed attempts at securing the first down later in the drive, but a fair amount of that was lacking a playmaker on offense. It takes two to move the chains.

I could live with Ramczyk over Robinson. But leaving Barnett and Davis on the board would make me sad.

What is there to debate over? Does he need to play better? Yes. Everyone and their mom has come to that conclusion. Will he be on the team for the foreseeable future? Yes. The team still has a lot of confidence in him and his contract is structured in such a way that it makes it harmful to cut him, anyways. Beyond those two points, what is there to talk about? 100+ pages worth? At least we don't see the phrases 'deer in the headlights', 'can't/won't win the big game', etc anymore.

And I see it totally the other way. The slightest defense of Flacco is met with a tirade of over-the-top criticism. I don't see anyone "absolutely love" Joe, just people trying to tell the "haters" to lighten up. Seriously people, there is a middle ground and I think that's where the bulk of the fans are. We've seen horrible Joe and we've see tremendous Joe. What we want is a plan, scheme, roster, whatever, that helps us see the good Joe way more often.

I've heard we're possibly going to take him back. Heard the same about Webb, which I'd also love to have back.

I am really impressed with the moves made this year. I think were building a strong team and we'll continue that trend in the draft. It impossible to fill ever hole up with top notch players but if we can shore up the Oline and get a pass rusher of quality then were set for the year. We obvs need another WR but that can be a vet on a minimum contract or through the draft. To me, i dont think adding a WR is that important. We have Wallace and Perriman on the sides and Pitta roaming the middle to move the chains. How many teams out there can say they have a competent player at every position?

Spot on, brother! Amen!!!! Have been saying that since the last snap of last season. Brees, Brady, P. Manning etc... all took pay cuts after they had enough money to last their families through 5 generations and Flacco is now in that boat as well. I feel if he doesn't help the team now, we need to look for his replacement because as soon as that contract gets to a manageable amount for dead money (which is in 2 years) he needs to be let go. The team paid him for his good years and now he either needs to take a pay cut, or have an MVP season or I would say send him down the road. Even after 2 years, he is still in the top 5 QBs in the league in cap money though he is in the bottom 5 starting QB's in performance. We need to draft a QB this year so he is ready in two years when we need to let Flacco walk.

Whether or not Pitta fell down, Flacco did himself no favors by 1. Having tunnel vision to Pitta and 2. Using the check-down far too often.

Great idea actually. If you start a thread and name it something like "How can we stop the Board from closing down" Give us the instructions and il personally send an email. Il post it on the reply section right after I'm done. If enough of us do so then you may be right. Your simple reply here won't reach enough people or call for enough action

Would be a shame if Belichick used an Imperius Curse on Panthers GM Gettleman to make him sit out the draft, allowing life-sustaining prospects to fall to the Belichick. Would also be a shame if Belichick commanded Gettleman's last act to be to trade him #KONY2014 for a sandwich. Would be a shame is all...

He reminds me as a more raw Suggs. The fact he did not start playing until high school tells me he has room to grow still ,expecially in his knowledge fo the game, position and technique. Great round 2 selection if available, maybe a round 1 trade back.

Maybe he realizes that because of his injury history it won't be easy to find a new team despite being the leading TE and that he kinda owes the Ravens for keeping him on the team all that time (getting paid without contributing).

I see both sides. Joe could definitely use help -- he easily has one of the worst supporting casts of the upper tier of QBs -- but he doesn't do a good job at all of helping himself or others, and he's largely responsible for a lot of our problems. His sloppy play and risk taking cost us games. His craving of the big play leads to too many three and outs by ignoring timing routes and failing to move the chains. More and more I believe that he looks for the big play on every play. Doesn't it seem like every throw is either a check down or a down field attack? There's no in between. Only in the two minute drill -- when he's forced to move the chains to stay alive -- does he throw on the break and in timing with the receiver. That's really it, I think. He wants the big play and doesn't care much for precise, meticulous drives.

Elite guard prospect with room to develop into a RT. His problems in pass pro look fixable, he shows good back pedaling and he has a powerful punch when he engages, and when he gets hands on the rusher it's over. His issues come from his tendency to misfire on his backpedal and fall behind, and it's only an occasional thing, which leads me and other to think that good coaches getting him reps should fix that problem pretty easily. Aside from that, he's the most powerful drive blocker in the class, he fires out of his stance low and strikes upwards with his arms and drives from his hips, he packs a lot of power on his get-off and wins the snap immediately, getting his man off balance and following up by driving his man deep off the line. Theres good and bad with cam, the good should outweigh the bad by quite a bit assuming that he develops that consistency he's lacking in his footwork in pass pro. If he's a big dummy like Michael oher and can't progress at all then he is gonna be a liability at RT but should still make a hell of a guard.

The move to get rid of joe involved clearing 47m in cap space this year. That is not rearranging money, that requires a total dismantling of the team

i hate that first kickstep - while its coachable its a really bad habit that i can see him falling on under pressure from speed off the edge - but i will admit that the idea of him and yanda mauling defenders on the right side off the LOS in the run game is an exciting thought - but i dunno - i still think he projects better as a guard and can be legitimately dominant there

Cams issues at RT seem coachable. It's a consistency thing, he has a tendency to take way too shallow of a first step at completely random times. Reps and some good drilling from coaches could fix that easily. Hopefully he can also be coached out of his tendency to chase blocks in pass pro and turning his shoulders too early and lunging at guys. He just has the run block mentality on every snap it seems. If he fixes that he will be pretty solid as a pass protecting RT but having that kind of mauler on the edge is a HUGE advantage.

Seeing the selection of Ford, Bill Belichicks salt levels rise to unhealthy levels. The additional sodium dries up his slimy outer membrane, crippling him and reducing him to a heap on the floor. Robert Kraft finds him shriveled up on the floor. Panicking, Kraft douses him in the closest thing at hand - the Burnett's Pink Lemonade Vodka / Cranberry juice mixed drink his 50+ years younger 'girlfriend' made for him. Rising from the sickening puddle, Belichick mutters an thank you before skulking back into the shadows.

Man, I remember when the Ravens used to churn out crazy home grown talent...the caliber of coaches we had then were great for player development.

I don't get why they are not interested in Zach Brown. He could fill the void and perfect replacement for Orr and even a upgrade. If it because the compensatory pick then smh. He won't be that expensive to sign. Hurry up because the Dolphins and now Bills are interested. Zach Brown would make our defense even more scary.

Well there's always the definitive possibility that the Ravens didn't think Aiken was a very good WR (which most people agree with) and that the fans, for the millionth time, overvalue their own players. It appears the marketplace shares the Ravens sentiments there. Not like Aiken didn't have the opportunity to get more involved... all he had to do was beat out a 36-37 year old WR for playing time. Didn't manage to do that either.

Talk about Adrian Peterson coming to the Ravens needs to be prefaced by the fact that we all need to remember what Peterson said after a 2013 game against the Ravens. He referred to Ravens fans "as the worst fans in all of football". Someone who disrespects Ravens fans has no business in purple and black. Not even to mention that the Ravens have no desire for domestic abusers and beating your children and being legally charged and penalized by the NFL is not a player the Ravens should even spit on.

he just has such good technique once he latches on in pass pro that he can be dominant - the problem is the latching on... i really like him in pass protection but in smaller spaces on the interior where his bad kickstep wont cause him that many problems and he can just sink his hips and drive any tackles/guards - ironically he is less dominant as a run blocker but only because he doesnt finish his blocks - if he keeps working his feet through the block he again could be dominant
