i wouldnt come here because the news section has gotten pretty bad. theres no news, no real information, all the videos and articles are basically "heres a long drawn out bunch of stuff you already know" or "lolfunstuff and amateur opinions"

This is by far the most effective post you've made even though you're rolling in laughter at something that is logical and perhaps right. See you can convey a lot more if you don't type words and make sentences.

I was going to type a long paragraph on why what ellicott said is true, but decided it wasnt worth it.

Lol. I'm gonna come straight here when our first pick is a pass rusher

I definitely think Judon has a role here going forward, not a starter but I think he's definitely going to be a contributor. I honestly wouldn't flinch if Za'darius Smith was cut.

I really would love to see Webb back here, I personally think Judon needs to get the nod, he was highly effective and looked primed for a breakout(and the ZDS rookie year is apples and oranges here, one looked very good and the other got lucky on blown assignments, save it please). Webb is excellent depth and having an extra guy who plays both s and cb inside and out is huge. If anyone goes down we have a veteran and perhaps the 2nd smartest/savviest db on the team who can fill in anywhere.

haters like Virginia55 refused to comprehend facts; reality question is who will replace Joe if we cut him? Matty Choker? Playoff-less Dalton? unaccomplished Romo? or better yet, one of a kind, Brock Osweiler? and I heard he's up for 50% discount from Cleveland. Haters just blatantly want to see someone they hate getting cut and are clueless on the consequences.....like dropping your established franchised QB so we can continue to search 10yr for another franchise QB or paying someone old washed up QB or unproved rookie QB with bunch of money to keep the whole team backed up for another 10yrs; it sounds like an epic plan that the Cleveland Browns have been scripting..... People are telling me to put down my purple shades to see the truth, but even I can see the truth through my purple shades and why can't those with non purple shades see the real situation? /mind-boggled.....

I love the instant over-reactions by some people on this board. Like when we hired Trestman and lost week 1, in Denver...had people calling for his job. its literally been one week (actually 6 days) and we have made 3 good signings in my opinion and people are losing their mind. I want to address the OL as well....but you cant fix every position in a single off-season

Jefferson also said this tho: Tony Jefferson‏@_tonyjefferson @FilmstudyRavens 21 is best number out there couldn't pass up . In respect to Webb if he's back that's HIS number no questions asked.

With the 32nd pick in the 2nd round... Bill Belichick slithers up to the draft's stage, a trail of ooze and mucus in his wake. As he approaches the podium to announce his pick, the audience is taken aback with horror and disgust. Behind the podium, most of this disturbing sight is hidden, however various small tentacles appear and disappear as he gathers enough breath to mumble into the microphone. He smirks and thinks to himself, 'How smart am I? The self-proclaimed best player in the draft falling to me in the last pick of the second round? ha.ha.ha...' He breaks a smile, an unnerving combination of gnarled teeth and pained grimace, parents guard their children's faces and women shriek in despair. It does not bother the Belichick. Through his cracked facade, he mutters... Jalen 'Teez' Tabor, CB The lights flicker - then go out. When the flash on a second later, the Belichick has vanished. The only trace on him is a trail of slime and a wallet-sized picture of Tom Brady... This came to me in a dream.

My first takeaway is Thank God for Brandon Carr! My second takeaway is Thank God that Claiborne didn't immediately agree to our $5M/yr offer. My third takeaway is Thank God the Ravens didn't offer more money to sign Claiborne because he would've agreed and become Eugene Monroe's second coming!!!!

I think he'd be a reliable player and a good compliment to what we already have. If I was Ozzie, my offer to the eagles would be Eagles get Ravens 3rd Round Comp Pick (99 overall) Ravens get Jordan Matthews + Eagles 4th Rounder (118 overall) Seems like a win/win for both teams.

(To the tune of the Nationwide jingle) "Ravens nation is awesome"

I agree on both fronts. Yep and how many times did we see Zuttah get pushed back immediately getting his feet tangled and tripping Joe up ? Extremely annoying.
  28. 4 points
Maybe because he had 1161 yards,18 TDs and did great in short yard situations. No one is claiming he's the next Jamal Lewis but he'd def help as we often failed to convert on 3rd and 1 or 1st and goal. i honestly don't understand why you won't even call him a "good" player? if the tender is retracted from west and we add half a mil to it then we probably land a power back like Blount. Blount carrying the load on short yardage and Woodhead on 3rd downs and slot would be a prity nice one two punch.

This is kinda where I'm at with it in a way. The front office, in my opinion, must believe one of three things. 1. The Ravens aren't capable of developing young receivers. I would have believed this very much during the tenure of Jim Hostler and that would be supported by always bringing in these older, established veterans, but I just don't see it now. Engram is a really great receivers coach and we've seen great strides from players like Aiken and Perriman. I think if Engram were really given a bonafide star in the draft to work with (like Mike Williams), he could coach out any deficiencies and turn him into a superstar in the league. 2. The Ravens think Joe can do it all on his own and doesn't need a supporting cast around him. This one is just total bogus no matter who the quarterback is, except for one. I have only ever seen Andrew Luck do so much more with so much less and he was quite possibly the greatest draft prospect in NFL history, so we know that this isn't true. 3. The Ravens believe that no matter who they put out there, Joe is going to look exactly like he has for his entire career. Now, I know Joe hasn't had the greatest group of receivers in the world, but it seems that no matter who's out there, Joe is going to just make the same mistakes and the same throws. It doesn't matter if he has a Gronk or Julio; he's going to be who he is. He's gone through so many receivers, different offensive coordinators, and different philosophies and he's still playing the exact same. Sure, maybe if he had Gronk, Julio, Megatron, AJ Green, and Bell in their primes, he might be lighting up the stat sheet, but no quarterback has anything close to that. I think the front office is resigned to the idea of giving Joe just enough to work with and not leaving him out to dry, but not hinging all their money on a receiver/tight end group that'd rival the best in the league because Joe is still going to be Joe no matter who is out there.

People will always complain no matter what. The same people crying we spent this money are the same people who cried when the Steelers walked all over our defense scoring 21 points in the fourth quarter and we couldn't stop ANY team in the fourth quarter. For all the Flacco bashing that goes on he was always able to get that score in the fourth quarter to put us ahead but the defense would turn right around and let the other team score and win. When you try to please everyone, you please no one. Thank goodness Ozzie doesn't listen to the people in here. Carr is a good, solid, press corner who is a reliable player who goes out every day and is successful and if your other corner is injury prone, you need someone reliable. If you watched Dallas last year, OCs went after Claiborne, not Carr. There is a reason for that. Claiborne was a sporadic, fly around, get caught out of position corner, fooled on the double move and Carr was a solid, Fluid, press corner who was always within a step of his guy. Educate yourself, if you have access to the Cowboys games, watch them and then tell me Carr's money was a waste.

I'm surprised at how much signing Carr has got me more excited for the draft. Took my expectations of what the possibilities were in the top 2-3 rounds and just blew them wide open. In reality though I'm sure it hasn't changed the FO's draft plan much if at all.
  41. 4 points
i mean what do you want from him? he cant fill every hole with the limited cap space we have - if im honest im surprised we got all the guys we have already - if you'd have told me that we'd lose every major home-grown free agent including brandon williams and not brought in any major signings in free agency i would not have even been close to surprised especially given how close to the cap we were - the fact that we have all these "new toys" is crazy given where we started the off season what do you want him to do? the olinemen in free agency werent particularly good and all got overpaid and picked off by teams with too much cap space like circling vultures - we couldnt compete in the wide receiver market - what would you have had him do in stead? pay dj fluker or riley reiff - no thanks...

There's a plan and plenty of time. Question - what would you have had them do for the offense?

Curious about a few things. 1. How is your first issue with Flacco that he doesn't run out of the pocket? He's a pocket passer, not a scrambling QB (although he can and has). 2. "he just tries to bomb it down field on almost every pass" - Did you spend last season watching old games from the Cam Cameron era?? 3. How did you bring yourself to include Forsett in the 6 RBs comment while also mentioning that we "just" let him go (about half a year ago)

unless the trade comes with him agreeing to an extension at a reasonable price , i would not give up a 3rd rounder. not worth risking losing him after the season in a bidding war.

3 times. Orr extension, Torrey signing here, Claiborne signing here. He did call Tony Jefferson, but 25% is still failing.
