I really would love to see Webb back here, I personally think Judon needs to get the nod, he was highly effective and looked primed for a breakout(and the ZDS rookie year is apples and oranges here, one looked very good and the other got lucky on blown assignments, save it please). Webb is excellent depth and having an extra guy who plays both s and cb inside and out is huge. If anyone goes down we have a veteran and perhaps the 2nd smartest/savviest db on the team who can fill in anywhere.

i really think one of the premier talents is going to fall in this draft and we'll be all too happy to pick them up - someone like corey davis/mike williams, derek barnett, reuben foster, marshon lattimore even someone like tim williams i think is probably worth picking at 16

Jefferson also said this tho: Tony Jefferson‏@_tonyjefferson @FilmstudyRavens 21 is best number out there couldn't pass up . In respect to Webb if he's back that's HIS number no questions asked.

With the 32nd pick in the 2nd round... Bill Belichick slithers up to the draft's stage, a trail of ooze and mucus in his wake. As he approaches the podium to announce his pick, the audience is taken aback with horror and disgust. Behind the podium, most of this disturbing sight is hidden, however various small tentacles appear and disappear as he gathers enough breath to mumble into the microphone. He smirks and thinks to himself, 'How smart am I? The self-proclaimed best player in the draft falling to me in the last pick of the second round? ha.ha.ha...' He breaks a smile, an unnerving combination of gnarled teeth and pained grimace, parents guard their children's faces and women shriek in despair. It does not bother the Belichick. Through his cracked facade, he mutters... Jalen 'Teez' Tabor, CB The lights flicker - then go out. When the flash on a second later, the Belichick has vanished. The only trace on him is a trail of slime and a wallet-sized picture of Tom Brady... This came to me in a dream.

Webb deserves a lot of credit for his time here. It's unfortunate that injuries pretty much sapped his career, since he was really playing at an elite level when he signed the extension. Unfortunately, he could never fully recover as the knee injuries became too much to overcome to get back to his previous play. Even during those trying teams, Webb remained a consummate professional and team player. He was willing to do whatever the team asked - take a pay cut, switch positions, mentor the young guns, etc. He is the epitome of a team player, and I'll always have a ton of respect for Webb for that reason. Furthermore, as alluded to above, Webb was tremendous off the field as well. He was consistently active in the community and really embraced Baltimore as his home. Although this day had to come eventually, Webb will surely be missed.

If the higher-ups are curious as to why Facebook and Twitter aren't adequate options for intelligent discussion, here's your case in point.

Not as if this would determine whether he comes back but

I've heard we're possibly going to take him back. Heard the same about Webb, which I'd also love to have back.

My first takeaway is Thank God for Brandon Carr! My second takeaway is Thank God that Claiborne didn't immediately agree to our $5M/yr offer. My third takeaway is Thank God the Ravens didn't offer more money to sign Claiborne because he would've agreed and become Eugene Monroe's second coming!!!!

"Much needed speed at wide receiver". Of all the things we need, a speedy WR is about the last thing on that list.

I was going to ask if he had to wear a helmet around the house for his own safety.

This is kinda where I'm at with it in a way. The front office, in my opinion, must believe one of three things. 1. The Ravens aren't capable of developing young receivers. I would have believed this very much during the tenure of Jim Hostler and that would be supported by always bringing in these older, established veterans, but I just don't see it now. Engram is a really great receivers coach and we've seen great strides from players like Aiken and Perriman. I think if Engram were really given a bonafide star in the draft to work with (like Mike Williams), he could coach out any deficiencies and turn him into a superstar in the league. 2. The Ravens think Joe can do it all on his own and doesn't need a supporting cast around him. This one is just total bogus no matter who the quarterback is, except for one. I have only ever seen Andrew Luck do so much more with so much less and he was quite possibly the greatest draft prospect in NFL history, so we know that this isn't true. 3. The Ravens believe that no matter who they put out there, Joe is going to look exactly like he has for his entire career. Now, I know Joe hasn't had the greatest group of receivers in the world, but it seems that no matter who's out there, Joe is going to just make the same mistakes and the same throws. It doesn't matter if he has a Gronk or Julio; he's going to be who he is. He's gone through so many receivers, different offensive coordinators, and different philosophies and he's still playing the exact same. Sure, maybe if he had Gronk, Julio, Megatron, AJ Green, and Bell in their primes, he might be lighting up the stat sheet, but no quarterback has anything close to that. I think the front office is resigned to the idea of giving Joe just enough to work with and not leaving him out to dry, but not hinging all their money on a receiver/tight end group that'd rival the best in the league because Joe is still going to be Joe no matter who is out there.

This is just one of those really deep drafts where we wish we had 11 picks instead of 7. I would've no problem trading down in this one and collect a couple more 2-3rd round picks.

I was hoping jeffy rocks 23. 32 and 23 at safeties would be cool

Well, it looks as if Ozzie drafted a bunch of All-Pro's last year. That was probably one of the most homerish posts I've ever seen. Lol.

I don't need to see it. He passes the eye test and he showed what he can do against the best in the country at the combine. Nobody could gaurd him. Alabama totally underutilized him and we shouldn't look so much into production but rather the traits.

our secondary appears to be pretty dominant right now. with 5 healthy starters, and either a drafted guy or a re-signed webb as depth/situational guy our secondary could be the best in the league, and it has an identity, we have everything you want in a secondary; a true shutdown corner, a 2nd corner who is smart savvy and highly consistent, a very heady FS who is a natural field general back deep, a shifty and explosive slot corner who plays feisty and plays the ball great, and the enforcer who can man up on TEs, sniff out screens, run support, and blitz incredibly well, our starting secondary is the absolute prototype and health willing they should carry us through a lot of games, you just wont be able to pass on the ravens. expect a lot of coverage sacks from suggs and judon who are both very savvy rushers who find their way to the qb when given an extra second to rush. with bwill back and jefferson at SS our run D should be as good as ever. that said, if i had to choose one unit to be absolutely dominant, id take OL every time, flacco has shown time and time again that when he has an effective run game and time in a clean pocket, that he will light you up. he can pick apart some of the best defenses when he has a great OL and does so with average wr corps. finally getting a LT will go a long way for us, but unfortunately the rest of our line is falling apart, so it could be tough to build it up

Ya I still like him. I just think it was a bit tough of a transition from the level of competition he faced at Boise compared to the NFL. I also think we threw too much at him at once.

Weddle had tweeted something when the Chargers released him calling him a good player. I'm sure they could give their opinion on him.
  32. 3 points
I think Webb can still contribute whether or not someone goes down. We could find ways to get him in as a 3rd safety, but yeah I think if someone goes down he'll easily step up and we won't be in a bad spot. I really hope we get Webb back.

Would love to bring dumervil back for cheap he's not gaining any interest on the market.

This is a very confusing post. Are you saying we go after both Williams and ross? Cause that would never happen. Oh and Corey Davis is the best receiver in the draft. Not williams
  35. 3 points
He probably has a new list of excuses ready for Flacco along with, 'Why your weapons for Joe continue to not work', handbook.

    1. Some of those players aren't getting cut after 2-3 years. 2. They may not play as well for us and get cut after 2-3 years also. Generally, when a player is told that he is good, he doesn't think that he is good because of the employer he works for. The natural mentality is that "I will be good no matter where I play". Its not like we are so extremely loyal to players that we will keep them for life.

Nice having you Wagner, but as competitive an offer the Ravens may have made 9M/yr is All Pro tackle money. Compensatory pick on the way... Wonder if the Ravens will ever begin to Trade guys that they know they can't extend or don't want to extend because of cost... It would be nice to trade a few guys similar to how the Patriots have done to gain 2nd and 3rd round picks. Year after year we have some quality players that leave and we basically are left looking forward to 4th and 5th round comp picks.

I think we'll be alright without Zuttah. Time for Jensen to step up. Urschal is a guard or tackle. My biggest disappointment is losing Jus.

"Pro Football Focus ranked Carr as the No. 52 cornerback last season." #52 is always a good omen in Baltimore ;)

the browns have been just as bad when it comes to qb's Don't care about the Browns as they will always be 5 years away from being 5 years away. WE need to do a better job at selecting WR's. I'd be ok with Perriman being mediocre if he was drafted in the 4th or 5th round. Can't accept mediocrity from a #1 pick.

So I have given this some thought. Why would the team want to shut down the fans opinions of the team, whether it be players, procedures, philosophy, or coaches, or draft picks? - It annoys them if the comments are negative. - It costs money to maintain - Someone (player, coach, or front office) got their feelings hurt from a fan comment (s) - They just want YES MEN around them to agree with everything they say and do from the top down - They could care less what fans think - People use too much profanity - They realize the fans might actually be knowledgeable enough to see a failing plan versus a successful plan, and do not want to hear about it - Too many Squeeler trolls pretending to be Ravens fans - Bill Belicheck has hacked into our team computers through the message boards Feel free to finish this list.....

Still think the money would have been better spent on the OL or WR. Hope the FO has a plan.

Yup and not being able to say anything except go team and yay Ravens doesn't help the cause

Because we aren't the only team with those problems. The one's that draft better than us have overcome it.
