How many would join if I create a message board/forum for us to migrate to?

Wow. Not happy. Will not be engaging on FB or any other platforms because it doesnt allow for actual discussion. Just one or two lines of unsubstantiated, emotional garbage or "hot takes." Plus, i dont want to be bombarded with advertising while discussing the Ravens... But, i guess you cant really advertise on here and capitalize on the "engagement" so why bother. Im being unreasonable, but i dont care.

Wow. As a fan who left Baltimore in 2003 and found this community I can't say enough about how upsetting this is. Facebook has some of the worst 'Raven' fans.

See my avatar? I am a Webb fan. All three members of my family have two RAVENS jerseys. Lewis and Webb. Most of you know why we all are such RAVENS fans. Click here to see why. Having met him a few times after that initial meeting, he was always super cool and classy. Good to my kid. Good to my wife. Good to his fans. He fought hard he played hard. He is what it means to be a RAVEN. He will always be one of my favorite RAVENS.

Hello everyone, As most of you know, with our current home closing at the end of the month we've begun the process of creating and searching for a new spot. Thank you to those of you that have joined the new forum already. Great to see so many of you that love this community as much as I do. For those of you who haven't joined and want to, check out: http://baltimoreravens.boardhost.com/index.php But, with us being forced out of our comfort zone a lot of exciting ideas are flying fast and furious.... and a simple forum may not be able to house what we need, or provide all the features we've become used to. With that in mind, still don't hesitate to join what we have set up and start using it. But, with some of the great community members help, we're looking into upgrading to something better that will allow us to do some really neat things in addition to just chatting. It'll also give us the ability to scale as we grow bigger. We're grabbing some potential domain names now, but if anyone has some slick suggestions for what our new home could be called, feel free to post em and we'll start looking into availability of domains. So keep an eye out. We'll try to have everything settled and finalized before this closes down... but just in case make sure to get registered over at the current forum listed above. That way, at the very least we can all stay in touch while our ultimate, new swanky bachelor pad is being built. Awesome to see so many of us really invested in building something great. And build it we will. Thanks, Bold (remember to register at the existing new forum.... and let those Forum/Domain name suggestions fly; want to get something locked up)

Cleveland Browns GM: "This is fake news!"

Turned down more money from the Browns lol

Heartbreaking. One of my all time favorites. I even went to his softball games at the stadium.

We lost Zach Orr to an injury retirement and he was our leading tackler. There's a reason Ray Lewis wanted a big body up front to keep him clean in Haloti Ngata. CJ Mosley will benefit from this move, and it is true that Williams must also step up as well. Moving Correa inside means you absolutely have to keep that guy clean because he cannot disengage off of blocks, and having a massive body in Williams and a back-up in Pierce means you can rotate and keep them fresh. I see this as a move that impacts various levels of the defense.

I think the fact that the date was moved proves that we are being heard. DO NOT STOP HERE! While it is good to voice our displeasure on this thread, please take the time to hit the "contact us" button and voice your displeasure. We can not simply create topics on social media, we have to play by ear on what the Ravens media team gives us. The Baltimore Ravens spent $144 million in stadium upgrades to "better the fans experience." What about the unique experience and information for fans on here? There is a sense of a community here that the pages on social media simply can not provide. Why would the Ravens want to destroy that? I am proud to post on these boards! Again, please hit the contact us button and let the people in Bisciotti's office hear your displeasure. When Ravens media and players open up questions to fans, ask them why they want to get rid of this community. If youve read all of this, thank you for your time!

Webb deserves a lot of credit for his time here. It's unfortunate that injuries pretty much sapped his career, since he was really playing at an elite level when he signed the extension. Unfortunately, he could never fully recover as the knee injuries became too much to overcome to get back to his previous play. Even during those trying teams, Webb remained a consummate professional and team player. He was willing to do whatever the team asked - take a pay cut, switch positions, mentor the young guns, etc. He is the epitome of a team player, and I'll always have a ton of respect for Webb for that reason. Furthermore, as alluded to above, Webb was tremendous off the field as well. He was consistently active in the community and really embraced Baltimore as his home. Although this day had to come eventually, Webb will surely be missed.

Honestly these forums are the only viable way to talk about football. Social media is a hellhole.

I'm already there and encourage others to join. I honestly have no clue what I would do without this forum, its like the government actually expects me to work.....while at work. Like I told you before, let me know if you need anything.

Rarely find corners that can tackle like he can, its innate, you cant teach it to a 180 pound kid. He has "it", shame his knees didn't keep up with him, he was a damn good player. Id love for the Ravens to bring him back at a lesser cap hit.

I feel this forum gave us, the fans, a good reputation for other teams looking to know about us. I found this place by typing in "ravens forum" on Google. Later on, I did the same for other teams like Steelers and Patriots and I've always felt that by comparison we have it pretty good here if you want some intelligent conversation. Granted the other team sites are/were probably not hosted by the teams' front office. I'm worried that we could find ourselves in a similar situation. I take pride in what we have here. Please reconsider, I would also be willing to donate to keep this going.

There's just no evidence for what you're saying. Repeatedly in the harbaugh era we have brought in rambunctious vets and they have been allowed and encouraged to be who they are as long as they don't disrupt the team ethic e.g. Boldin, smith sr etc...

Ever think that maybe the drop off in posting traffic over the last few years has been correlating to the steady decline of the team? There is a reason that there is only a small portion of the posters still active- because they are the die hard fans and will stick with the franchise no matter what. I think it speaks volumes about where this team is at now, that they would punish the core of the fan base - not to mention keep away a venue for newer fans to congregate online. I would say I'm surprised, but then again, this is the same franchise that traded away annual Bolden so we could get Marcus spears and Michael huff, so I guess I really shouldnt be surprised at all. Bad, bad move.

@Admin 3 I think the execution is the poor part in all this. You should've waited to make this move until after the draft to close the forum on a high note. I will tell you I never use the social media avenues besides this one because I don't want my views attached to me personally and I like the anonymity provided here. Granted you could've justifiably given less, I think more advanced notice would've been wiser and prove to be a far better execution for your fan base of which the team supposedly values. While I may follow the Ravens on Twitter and Facebook but my participation there is nonexistent and it won't change at all because of this decision. While I understand the need to divert resources to more utilized avenues, I think isolating a portion of your fan base that prefer message boards fails to recognize the needs of a niche of your audience. I may have my own views I won't share right now on this issue, but I think that you're making a mistake in this decision since the money wasn't a deciding factor here, according to your statement. If that's the case, I don't see how retaining this forum negatively impacts your ability to properly give the more lucrative and in-demand social media avenues the attention they require.

And on the Harbs mental make up vs talent thing.... Hes right. Take two equally talented guys.... the one with the desire, intelligence, leadership, etc... 9/10 is going to be better. look how many top picks are out of the league or constantly suspended bc of their decision making. That's what he's talking about. It's about trusting the 5'9" CB from Temple can be a player bc what's in his head and heart. Its about paying SSS after hes cut by the team that drafted him bc of who he is as a person. It's why Stanley over Tunsil (which so far looks like the right move). Yanda over Grubbs. Yes it goes the other way sometimes too. Talent can overcome shortcomings. But hard work and mentality can over come talent deficiencies or measurables. Measureables and talent can't overcome idiot decisions off the field.

"However, we look to utilize our time and resources to focus on how we can best connect with our fans across an array of digital/social outlets." That's not an acceptable reason to closing the boards.

My confusion on the shut down stems from the replacement. Over the years, I have gotten the chance to meet some really cool feel fans on this forum and I definitely wouldn't have been able to do that on social media. Plus, where the heck else am I supposed to post my mock drafts that no one reads anyway?

FACT. I don't have a twidder account nor do I want one. I am following the RAVENS FB page, but that is far far far far from any sort of "community" in any true sense. Not to mention the format is not conducive to continuing dialog. This discontinuation is just a bad bad idea. It is like chopping off two fingers because the others are working "just fine" . FB has its place and its people. Twidder has its place and its people. Message boards, same thing. Some means work better with some and not so much for others. All are very unique in their own way. The discontinuation of these boards is completely and totally alienating a segment of the fan base. In my opinion it is inexcusable.

Just wow !! A team/organization that can waste multi millions on talent that should not be on any pro team refuses to spend what about $300.00 a year on a forum for the Fans. What a class act. Charge more and more to see the team that produces less and less on the field year after year for a few years now and cannot even leave us this for free.

Quality >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Quantity....It applies in every aspect of life....Would you trade Mosley for bunch of undrafted rookies? I would take 10 guys in this message board community over 100k trolls on FB or twitter or any social platform.... For monetary reason, I don't think there's a big jump, but slightly jump instead. For expanding pool of fans, I don't think there's any improvement; may be some bandwagon fans. If the Ravens organization want to expand their fan base, wouldn't it be better to have both message board and FB? PS: I think whoever made this decision isn't thinking about fans' feelings and the money they saved is not going to replace the heart and soul of this community...

Awful news. I don't get on here as much, but it's not because I've migrated to social media platforms like FB and Twitter (and to discuss sports? Yuck!) I still come and browse as a guest sometimes because this community is awesome. If it's the end, it's been real. I hope it is an April Fool's joke though.

At least it was on the road, we over achieved, and were basically starting a practice squad secondary at that point, and the patriots had the deceptive substitution BS in that game too. Falcons blown lead was way worse.

PLEASE do not close the forums!!!!!!!!! We appreciate you moving the date back.

Lol still pushing Chad Kelly as the next superstar I see...

I know he can't block, but at least Pitta has some sure hands. I have not been impressed with some of the others in that respect. At least when Pitta is on the field he can catch the ball when it comes his way, but I wish the man could block.

Not to be insulting but the way you talk about the way people post it feels like you only read the flacco threads and the news threads... come visit the draft threads if you want proof - they are veritable gold mines of debate and thought-sharing of course outlandish claims will be ridiculed if they come with no evidence but other teams' fans drop in sometimes and I've never seen them blocked unless they are trolling on gameday - there certainly isn't a rejection of alternative ideas as long as they come with some justification rather than baseless opinions

Hope we can resign him as a 3rd S great guy great player just that injury bug. Before the 2nd ACL he was right with Revis as a top rated CB. Thank you for personifying what playlike a Raven means and good luck

Webb is one of the easiest guys to love as a fan! I'm so heartbroken but I absolutely understand the move. if he comes back then I'd be the first to celebrate. If not then il thank him for 8 awesome years. Effort was never Webbs downfall and he was never a negative distraction. Thank you thank you thank you Webby!!

Chris Georges did a two round mock early today over on NFL.com. He had the Ravens taking Barnett and Kupp.

I really want Williams or Davis now. I'd trade the 3rd round comp to secure one of them. The offense desperately needs help I've been a huge fan of Lawson for awhile and if he fell to the 2nd that'd be worth the injury risk imo. Johnson pick is obviously pointless now

It feels like your parents are doing the matchmaking for you although they know you are really in love with your GF......just break us up from the Ravens message board community and force us to marry the trolling FB and any other social platform?

Proves Ravens want their defense to be intimidating again. Also teams aren't designating SS and FS as much as they used to today. Both can do both pretty well. Which leaves offenses to question which one is going where.
