    So basically don't criticize Joe?

do you really wanna know why keys on his keyboard are sticking?

In one sentence please explain how you came up with this? Just one sentence please. I don't want to overtax my brain.

Yes, agreed. He needs a Ray Rice. He needs legit WRs. An OL that stays together. Like most Qbs And where have you read we had a top line?

The early rounds need to get worked out, but as of now we should stick with the comp formula because the 4th and 5th is where we make our money. We have done Maybe better than any team in the late rounds, but picks like kindle, cody, Upshaw, elam, brown, Brooks, and potentially maxx and Correa(this far at least) are really clouding his track record. Mosley, jernigan, perriman, and Stanley have his track record on the uptick, assuming they all progress. If he can get a good first 2 rounds in this upcoming draft I think people start slowing their roll when calling for ozzies head. He got lost in the retirement frenzy trying to replace guys, hopefully learned his lesson, and is fixing the mistakes. The real challenge comes now though, our roster is gonna be seriously lacking in 2 years and he needs to prepare for that while also building our present team, and he has to do so with average value picks and no more low-value holes to fill, most of our holes are in the high value sexy positions and we have no means of addressing them.

but plenty of 'blame/cut/sucks on ozzie/harbaugh/oline/suggs' is fine by your book. Understood.

He's criticizing the community for protecting Flacco, who played maybe the worst game I've seen him play since the five INT game vs. Buffalo three years ago. While Flacco has played like trash, giving up on him immediately is foolish beyond human belief. How did he regress this much? I don't know. Hopefully he turns it around. But the rest of the offense does too. The entire damn offense has been a crap show. Pinning the blame solely on Joe is moronic beyond human belief.

Peppers stock would've plummeted faster than a snap of a finger if he landed wrong on that backflip.

The extreme amount of investment put into TE has left the roster thin elsewhere, but I'd take OJ Howard all day long. He is going to be a an elite TE and edge and CB are deep positions where we could definitely still get impact starters later on.

the ravens wont pass on him, unless the bama coaching staff tells ozzie straight up that the kids a headcase. i still doubt he falls past cincinnati who love themselves a good headcase and need a LB anyway, and even if cinci goes another direction, pretty much every team after them could use a LB, saints, browns, colts, eagles, cardinals, all of them would have a hard time passing on a guy like foster. the kids a generational talent, this isnt a vontaze burfict case where he had 3 seasons of absolute boneheaded and hotheaded film, and then proceeded to have possibly the worst combine of all time and then seemingly sabotaged himself in the interview process... reuben foster is lightyears ahead of burfict in terms of talent and character, even if foster has off the field issues at least he isnt on tape headhunting and cussing out coaches and refs.

Jesus. I just busted out laughing in my office during a meeting when I read this. Clearly, this meeting is less important than a Flacco thread. The F18s will still be there.

Although I don't hate the guy, this is honestly an extremely true statement. He's not respected at all outside of our fanbase.

Chris Godwin WR Penn st declared early for the draft. Wouldn't mind him for the 3rd or 4th round. He seems like the type of receiver harbaugh was talking about at his season ending press conference
  19. 3 points
And how he spends his money is your concern why?
  20. 2 points
Throwing at a pro day is not the same as in a game, watch his film and you'll see his accuracy take breaks throughout the game. It's just objectively true that at times his accuracy leaves a lot to be desired. Of course every QB misses open guys during a game, but Kelly does it consistently and constantly, if it only happened a couple times per game I wouldn't have a complaint about it, but it doesn't only happen when he's under pressure, he also does it in a clean pocket. Comparing him to Young and Favre is just ridiculous, just because a guy has some arm talent and may get a bit better over time doesn't magically make him first ballot hall of fame caliber, or even capable of being that good. Casually comparing him to all time greats really only hurts your case, when you make comparisons that lofty then most likely you're not being objective about him. You can like a player and be realistic about them, those two camps are not mutually exclusive.

Wilson, Carr, and Jimmy G? Sure, let's pick 3 completely unalike QBs and compare another QB that's nothing like any of them.
  22. 2 points
The Patriots offered their first round pick for Cooks and it was rebuffed. NO wants a mid first rounder. Won't be a Raven.

Having foster and Mosley would be insane. We would have best ILB duo hands down

Not that digging deeper is helping, but I'll shoot. How does your "6" key stick when up to that point you hadn't used it once in that post?
  25. 2 points
My issue with our secondary isn't about athleticism, it's about size and ball skills. Tavon plays like an absolute stud against anyone 6' and under but gets skulldraggrd by anyone taller.

As you can clearly see, his cap hit is 24m, his dead money is a whopping 23m more than that. That is 47million against the cap in 2017, so let's break down what this means... The ravens currently have 15m cap space, cutting joe flacco means that we have to clear 32m just to break even. Let's go over this one as well... the ravens have few players they can cut to clear massive cap space because there is a fair bit of dead cap tied up, we would need to Cut yanda to save 2m, doom to save 6, Wallace to save 6, pitta to save 3, Webb to save 5, Suggs to save 1, wright to save 3(need to anyway), zuttaj to save 2, Arrington to save 2, Jernigan to save 1, and at that point you still have to clear 2mil just to be at the cap, and after those cuts there is only savings of fractions of a million, you would need to cut another 4 or 5 players to hit that cap, at this point you literally don't have a team to field. Now, the draft class usually costs about 8m a year, you have to clear that up as well which would be nearly impossible because the savings just wouldn't be there. But you want 2 first round picks so the required space would be even higher. I could go on about free agents that would be due that we couldn't resign, but we would've cut them all anyway so it wouldnt matter and the franchise would have to fold and forfeit the 2017 season for not having a team to field. That is what happens when you take on joes dead cap, this is why nobody is on board with your super duper comprehensuv plan.

The fans would go on a riot and demand Elway to be fired if they brang in Joe Flacco w/ the current contract. You really have a pretty closed minded perception how much of a laughing stock Joe is outside RavensNation.
  30. 2 points
The kid Zay Jones could be a steal in the 2nd round
  31. 2 points
You are correct. But for the most part he does all of the really important things that a receiver needs to be successful really well. He has very savvy and great route running, he is a big body that has length (I'm curious about his vertical though, I want to know if he can go up and get the ball), he has underrated speed and agility although not a total burner, and yes his hands are what will make him special. I have a high grade on him and if he's there at 16 I would need a compelling argument/player there to convince me not to take him

Short on cap space to begin with, like Ravens were for last couple of years since forever?
  33. 1 point
Yea this is one of the best and deepest drafts I can remember. There's easily 50 or so guys that have a legitimate case as a 1st rounder and probably would be in consideration most other years. I feel like there are more legit impact players that could be available for us at 16 than there were for us at 6 last year. OL, QB and ILB aren't all that great or deep but CB, pass rushers, TE and RB have elite talent at the top and really solid depth throughout. This could be a franchise defining draft if done right. Really excited to see this thing unfold.

I don't have tape, but I loved how he looked at the combine. At the perfect size for a 3-4 OLB (6'5", 250) he ran a 4.53. Willis could be a steal in the 3rd round.
  35. 1 point
Anyone else think Garrett looks weird running?
  36. 1 point
Everyone already knows this, but...Kpassagnon is just a terrifying guy. 6'7", 290 with a 4.7 40, with that kind of frame and his athletic ability he could be one of the guys that'll just jump up the draft.

if foster is there i think the ravens sprint to the podium. this incident is a whole bunch of nothing and hes the type of player that IF he falls for any reason the ravens wouldnt pass on, hes a top 5 talent, hes on the same tier as garrett, allen, and adams, just at a less valuable position. the ravens dont let those kinds of guys slip past over one small incident. foster has been a team leader for his whole career at alabama, and im sure ozzie would get enough insider info from the coaches down there. i HIGHLY doubt he falls to 16 anyway, hes too good, the only way he would fall to 16 is if coaches told NFL GMs that he is an undraftable headcase, which clearly isnt true.

I like ryan mallet i think he is a good backup so if joe gets injured it wont end up like the 2015 2016 season were we couldn't find a backup who wasn't throwing pick sixes each game they started.

With all that said lol I was only trying to say if Joe is completely terrible anybody could push him. With that said if we make Joe priority and protect him with that elite line Harbaugh was speaking of. Then Joe is a top5 QB and could push for league MVP. No coincidence when McKinney was nailing down left tackle with his best play later in his career. And the best tandem of guards. Joe was elite and next to a flawless QB. i like Chad Kelly. Laser accurate arm. Reads progressions really fast especially for somebody relatively uncoached. Supreme confidence in his arm and with good reason. He completes passes no QB in this class would even attempt. Sure he has some off field problems. But mostly boy stuff. No DV for sure. His teammates say he is a great teammate and tough leader. If stars lined up correctly and he played in a good system with a good coach. While keeping out of all trouble. He could easily be in the running for No.1 pick. He has legit athleticism to take it the distance. And he could be grabbed in mid to later rounds say round 4-6 maybe.

But does he work out with his WRs in the preseason?

I just look at it the same way I do when I sit with my clients and set up investment accounts for them. Even though the stock market has been booming over the last 3 months, I can't promise you it will continue. However what I can do is look at the trends of the market over the last 20-40 years and we can have a good indication of how the market will perform. That's exactly how I look at the NFL FA Market. So with that said, let's look at the RT Market over the last 3 years. Since 2014 there have been 6 different RTs who have signed deals that placed them among the top 3 highest paid at their position. It started with Austin Howard in 14' with 6M per. Than in 15' Bryan Bulaga got 6.7M per and last year Schwartz got 6.6M per, also remember in each year the salary cap has increased. So in the last 3 years with a rising cap, the RT market has reset itself at a steady pace totaling of $700,000. So now all of a sudden Wagner is supposed to reset the market by 1.5-3M per year, even though it's pretty much the same RT needy teams as it was last year? Even if Wagner reset the market by that total of $700k per year, that's still only 7.4M per which is not blowing the lid off the market. At the end of the day teams have to be willing to pay the RT position and I just haven't seen evidence of it. I just don't see this perfect storm for Wagner coming together. Being the top OT available doesn't matter much if you are a RT only imo. If a team was willing to play him at LT they'd be better off signing Whitworth, Beachum or Kalil, to below market deals and have an experienced LT rather than pay big money for an experiment. So I guess this will have to be one of our wait and sees lol. I believe i'm up 1 after nailing Marty being retained.

Zay Jones is doing very well he might not be available in the 2nd round he might have moved himself into late 1st round with his 40 questions getting answered. He is a great route runner and catches everything.

If you like not having 1st round pick @ 2018. Then sure! why not
  46. 1 point
Ya I like his traits, coverage and ball skills. However his tackling is terrible, he takes bad angles pretty often. Something he'll have to clean up
  47. 1 point
Tavon obviously played very well in his own right, but I don't think many people realized how much safety help he was getting when Jimmy was on the field. They could leave Jimmy on an island and roll Webb behind Young. Once Jimmy was hurt, that's when Young had some struggles although he still played well. I have no problems with him on the outside if it comes to it, but I'd much rather have him in the slot moving forward.

Ok wait a second. I just found your best and then regular mock. My former comment was just about the worst one. Your other mocks are a little more satisfying, but lately I've been leaning away from Desmond king. I'm not sure if he's going to become a player who can help the secondary fix it's current issues as a CB, and I honestly don't want him as a safety. I feel like there are guys who are proven safeties who I'd rather have over him

I don't think In the absolute worst case scenario we take Conley at 16. That's just not a ravens move at all

I don't see how you miss on Corey Davis. No doubt a #1
