In one sentence please explain how you came up with this? Just one sentence please. I don't want to overtax my brain.

I don't think I want to know the answer to that. Thanks for capitalizing.

Maybe we can have a spelling bee instead. Lol all jokes aside I think this could have been a decent idea if it was presented better. Much better.

Yeah, let's be clear, we're not taking an OL with the 16th pick. Period. Either we trade back and consider it a possibility, either we take some later believing we can groom them even without Castillo. If we're picking an OL in the second, Elflein is my absolute favourite. He's refined, versatile and has it between the ears. Day 1 starter, whatever happens with the other OLinemen. Trading back is still an option because you can get a top12 player while gaining a 3rd or 4th (picks that Ozzie usually nails), and this class is one of the best in recent memory, so there's really a ton of plausible strategies.

The extreme amount of investment put into TE has left the roster thin elsewhere, but I'd take OJ Howard all day long. He is going to be a an elite TE and edge and CB are deep positions where we could definitely still get impact starters later on.

the ravens wont pass on him, unless the bama coaching staff tells ozzie straight up that the kids a headcase. i still doubt he falls past cincinnati who love themselves a good headcase and need a LB anyway, and even if cinci goes another direction, pretty much every team after them could use a LB, saints, browns, colts, eagles, cardinals, all of them would have a hard time passing on a guy like foster. the kids a generational talent, this isnt a vontaze burfict case where he had 3 seasons of absolute boneheaded and hotheaded film, and then proceeded to have possibly the worst combine of all time and then seemingly sabotaged himself in the interview process... reuben foster is lightyears ahead of burfict in terms of talent and character, even if foster has off the field issues at least he isnt on tape headhunting and cussing out coaches and refs.

Crimson tide fan here, but cam was beaten virtually every snap by Barnett, the number of times hurts had to get rid of the ball quickly or go to the screen in stead of the downfield shot was enormous and don't forget bama was playing with a lead the whole game - I cant imagine what would have happened had Barnett been allowed to tee off against a chasing bama offense most of bama's run plays in that game either went away from Barnett behind the bama right guard who had a great game or were qb scrambles (some were to barnett's side to be fair) barnett literally had cam on skates in that matchup - cam would lunge early to try and get hands on and hope he made contact and Barnett would just rip by him off the edge - hurts mostly just got the ball out quick

Great, another article about Flacco that fans think bashing him will help change the fact that we are stuck with him for the next 3 years at least... Flacco is a good QB. We are lucky to have a starter capable of winning big games like Flacco can. We could be in a much worse position. And in all honesty, Flacco does give us a chance to win every game. We very rarely ever get blown out, regardless of who we play.
  18. 3 points
In all seriousness, Flacco can be very good - when he has the time and targets that can catch. He needs a better O-line and more reliable receivers.

You really need to quit spewing the same lies. The Ravens had a very good rate at avoiding 3-and-outs. Of their 192 drives, only 35 ended in a 3-and-out, which is an 18.23% rate and good for 6th best in the league (LINK). That's in front of teams like the Packers, Cowboys, Steelers, and even the Patriots who were bottom 6. Also, the Ravens had a positive TOP on the year and were above-average (12th overall) for the league (LINK).

Although I don't hate the guy, this is honestly an extremely true statement. He's not respected at all outside of our fanbase.

I think Lamp is an All Pro type guard, somewhere between Justin Pugh and Zach Martin. Feeney has potential but there are real maulers in the draft with pro style experience like Dion Dawkins, I'm not sold on him either he but he has some KO in him.
  22. 3 points
I've been a big proponent of Toth for a long time now and based off of most mocks and everything else out there he's projected (like Jay Guillermo) to be a later round pick somewhere around 4-6. If I can wait until the 5th to get him I would call that a great deal. That would be a steal at that point
  23. 3 points
Don't believe the hype, believe your eyes instead. Sidney Jones is far superior. Especially to tabor who is a massive bust. He has a serious holding problem, he is undisciplined, and honestly looks stiff. Damn the size, the coverage skills are seriously subpar. I saw one game tape from him where he had 4 blatant holds go uncalled, 1 more get called, and was burned despite his holding twice, and he got beat deep multiple times. Tabor is a bust man.
  24. 2 points
and he was cramping lol... that's crazy - still wouldn't touch him at 16 given his injury history and the surgeries he might still have to have before he plays a down in the nfl
  25. 2 points
Never understood why people were questionning that. Few players seem so passionate on the field, you can see how he's going nuts when he gets a sack and the way he's willing to hit the QB and not just get the stat on his resume. We're also talking a guy that took 15 lbs on his own to get better and prepare for the NFL. That's a lot of work ethic needed.

Wow John Ross beat Chris Johnson record 40 time with 4.22.
  27. 2 points
The more I watch the less far apart I think even Garrett and Allen are from the rest of the pack, I never bothered watching them before because of the consensus but I think the gap between them and the rest of the pack is not as vast as all these mocks make out

Its really impressive that somehow in your mind the Ravens manage to both not draft any good players but at the same time always seem to have huge pieces leave in free agency that they drafted. Being able to pull off both is just amazing.

nooooooooooooooooooooo, no WR shall be drafted by the ravens, ever. lol

Yes, Domestic Violence is actually worse than all of those things. I assumed that was common sense no? I would also point out, obviously, that most of the players you listed were already on the Ravens (or off the Ravens) by the time those transgressions took place. Our stance is not to bring in players who have a history of DV in their background. That's not to say that we wouldn't draft or sign somebody who eventually turns into a wife beater, because we would have no possible way of knowing that (see Rice, Ray). You're confusing the two things. They're not the same. I will try to help you understand. So lets use reason and logic. For instance the same year Ray Rice was arrested for aggravated assault, on his soon to be wife, 9,865 people were killed in traffic accidents involving alcohol alone. Roughly 40% of all US traffic deaths that year. From 2001-2012 and estimated 11,800(nearly 11,000 of those deaths were women) people were killed involving domestic abuse. Please don't be a sheep , facts> popular ideas ""I would also point out, obviously, that most of the players you listed were already on the Ravens (or off the Ravens) by the time those transgressions took place."" Exactly hence the hypocrisy , they kept almost every single player I listed that still had star potential in them. Just like they tried to keep Ray Rice, until the couldn't stop the second video from coming out......

I am a little different on the Q thing because from what i remember, without trading Q we couldnt have landed Doom, maybe im wrong. But what made no sense to me is that the FO traded Joe's go to guy after giving him the massive contract and didnt bring anyone in to help. I believe our FO has lacked giving Joe enough talent around him. Just look at the collection of talent we had on offense in our SB year, we didnt have any elite WR but we had a collection of guys that did great and we also had a great RB. I think the RB position is key to our success, more than most. Honestly, Decosta knows more about football than anyone on here, so its kind of a compliment, i just stating his lack of effort to form a competent response. Yeah, what's crazy to me is even after as many whiffs as we've had for several year running now in the high rounds, and bad signings, and all that. We still easily had at least the second most talented roster in the AFC last year. Yet we didn't make the playoffs. Solely because of coaching imo. But I think it's borderline fact too. Just so disheartening. Not to mention they ALL come back, except for the one awesome coach, Frazier. Just a massive bummer Yeah couldn't disagree with this more. We have major talent issues all over our roster. In particular, I think it would be largely difficult to name many talented players on our roster under the age of 30 at the moment, which is a MAJOR problem. The biggest difference between us and Pittsburgh last year was playmakers and talent. Their offense is riddled with All-World and above average players at nearly every position. Ours is pretty much the exact opposite. Like nobody realistically looks at our roster compared to a Pittsburgh, Dallas, Atlanta, etc. and thinks that we are on the same playing field. Just because you play those teams tight doesn't mean you're as good as them. and we completely disagree. what else is new

that was the first game i watched every snap of Barnetts.... and they literally ran the entire game plan to avoid him. The only time they went his way was after running 4-5 straight plays away from him, and then used the over pursuit of the defense to that side to run a PA fake and screen to Barnett's side. Even with the limited opportunity he had to actually impact the game, he still did. And abused Cam. Over and over and over again. It was just awesome to watch. After watching that tape I was convinced he was the safest pass rusher in the draft. Might not have the freak upside of Garrett, but I think at worst hes a consistent 3 down starter in the Pro Bowl convo getting you 8-12 sacks as the norm. Probably one of the 3-5 safest players period in the draft, in my opinion, along with Jamal Adams, Jonathan Allen, and maybe Fournette or Sidney Jones (in terms of being a guaranteed at least solid starter).

I'm sure people know of him... but I haven't heard any buzz. #54 Dalvin Tomlinson Bama DT. First saw him watching Tim Williams and Ryan Anderson and he just kept popping up. Great leverage, anchor and power. High motor for a big man. Great pursuit. Could've gone to Harvard so really smart kid. Both parents have passed so he's overcome tragedy, really mature and self reliant. I really value that kind of thing. Kid knows how quickly you can lose something great in the blink of an eye. Don't think he'll take his NFL opportunity for granted. I don't know where he's projected to go... but if we lose BWill I can see him stepping right in with Pierce. Prob wouldn't take him in the 2nd or with our first 3rd just bc of need and who else I'm expecting to be available but if he's there late 3rd/4th I'd love him. If we lose BWill and he's projected 2nd or 3rd I may even consider him there.

Quarterback Zach Terrell from Western Michigan. Doesn't have the biggest arm, but he's smart with the football, doesn't turn it over, and can run well enough when things break down. I see him as sort of a poor man's Dak Prescott. He could be pretty good as a long term backup.

I think Godwin just really boosted his draft stock because of that.

with the draft being deep at the safety position i doubt the ravens will sign FA, i can see mangold and marshall/garcon signing, maybe leaning more toward marshall since he was released versus garcon since UFA, since the ravens love theiry comps picks.

when are db drills? im really excited to see sidney jones' 40 time. i think he runs in the mid 4.5s which is pretty horrible for a skinnier corner but i still think hes the safest corner prospect, but if he surprises everyone and runs in the lower 4.4 range he could skyrocket, the top speed is the only real concern with him and he is the rare situation where a 40 time can really help or hurt his stock a great deal, its overrated for a lot of players but jones being a top 3 corner with speed concerns it applies. im also excited to see tre'davious white who can put himself into the first round with a good 40 time, and jourdan lewis is a stellar athlete who could get himself solidified as a great upside project and push himself into the very top of the 2nd.

Being able to pull off both is just amazing. What are you talking about? We haven't had that many good players leave because we haven't gotten any good players. We've had lots of *good* players. I think the complaint is that we've had a pretty long drought of home grown superstars - guys whose jersey you want to buy. Yes, we've watched pro-bowlers walk, guys that we miss, real football players for sure. But as fans, it's hard to see our rivals load-up on those marquee franchise players while we've endured some major busts with scattered blue-chip pro-bowlers leaving in free agency. Oz and DeCosta are still among the best in the game at getting value from draft classes, but it hasn't been the most exciting few years to be a Ravens fan. This post is pretty spot on!!!

I think top to bottom here is CJ, Wagner/Williams(tie), and a distant fourth is Jernigan. I may be in the minority here, but for me Timmy is expendable. He's very streaky, sometimes disappearing for entire games, and often doesn't play very smart. Doesn't mean he couldn't turn out to be a monster, but his present value seems much, much lower than the other three.
  43. 1 point
There's so many quality starters in all our positions of need, that we could draft with the 1st pick. I think it's just going to come down to the best rated player left on the board as we usually do. Lots of impressive stock in this draft.

maybe ozzie and eric will agree it would be best to draft a kicker at #16 to challenge tucker since he missed 1 kick all season.

Today's winners: Forrest lamp OL- I think he solidified himself as a first rounder. Really showed his versatility at any position. Moves really smooth and carries his weight well, looks like a bull. Ethan cooper OG- really showed up as a small school guy. Moves very well for a 320 lb guy. He's a mauler and could be an interesting guy in the mid rounds for us. Tj Logan- I may be saying this because of his 4.37 40 but the ravens have said they want a homerun hitter running back. Logan has shown that ability on tape and has ability to return kicks Tarik Cohen- he can definitely scoot. Little guy 5-6 but he's quick as a a cat. Reminds me of Darren sproles I'm not gonna do the losers cause I don't think a bad combine necessarily effects your stock negatively that much.

Though I did read somewhere that Marshall wants to sign with NYG and that makes a lot of sense. He does Inside the NFL still I think ( Correct me if I'm wrong) and wouldn't want to relocate his family for what would be the 5th time in his career.

He goes over the same three or four points in every article regardless of what the subject is. And he doesnt ever reply to others responses. Some of the points he makes seem too fanciful to be real. Its almost as if he is going so far over the top to ensure that people will react.

I have never questioned the effort of this team since 2012 regardless of our record. I feel the Ravens always come out and play hard, always. I think any fan can see that. We just haven't had the talent we needed...
  49. 1 point
Mallet is fine for the same amount, otherwise some of the other FA, available QB's, would be just as good for that amount. This should be a financial focus, The Ravens are not in the same situation as the Cowboys. We actually have a #1 Quarterback who can play and win games! A back-up QB will be solely reliable on the Ravens ability to run the ball
