BPA isn't the problem, straying from it in the early rounds is the problem. Nobody would argue that Elam and Perriman were BPA, no way, those were need picks through and through, some would argue that Mosley would fall into that category as well, but people don't argue about that one because he worked out. I remember making a mock back then and getting negged like crazy for having Mosley to us instead of guys like Clinton-Dix. The problem is that we like to preach BPA but in the first and second we almost never go BPA, aside from Stanley, who would fit into both categories, our last real BPA picks early in the draft were Jernigan and Upshaw - who were consensus first rounders and we snatched them up as falling prospects. After the first two rounds then we switch over to BPA and magically we start finding gems left and right.

the jets players and management speak about brandon marshall as a model teammate. he has been active in the community and has spoken up about his past to encourage other young knuckleheads to shape up. not sure where youre getting some of that from. but i also would prefer robert woods, hes a very underrated wr in this league whos been stuck in a bad situation, and would bring a lot of what were missing, refined savvy route running and quality hands/ball skills.

He had 17 run stops and 13 missed tackles. He takes bad angles very often. He's had problems in man coverage too when asked to cover a tight end one on one. He's only seemed to make plays when hes the center fielder. Qbs underestimated his range and thanks to his athleticism he was able to make the play. He's only played one year as a college safety before that he was a basketball player. He has a lot he needs to work on and will be a project in the NFL. Teams need to be careful with players who come in with super high expectations. Hookers just not there yet. I'm not questioning the talent or potential, I just think it will take one or two years for him to get acclimated to the NFL. Ohio state simplified things for their inexperienced defense. He's gonna have to learn an nfl playbook and I doubt he's really had to learn much from a playbook considering his extremely short football career

Birk was also 33 when he signed with us. He wasn't injured at the time, though but if Mangold's injury checks out, I'm all for it.

Did you really write that the Ravens have consistently done more for Flacco than the Falcons have for Ryan? wowzer! And you are writing other things here and not understanding(maybe purposely) what you are writing. Boldin was here for 3 years and has been gone for 4. We won a SB in one of those years and were very competitive in the other two. Flacco and SSS had a good year in 2014, almost made it to the SB. 2015, 2016, injuries. Williams, Perriman and Gillmore probably haven't played a seasons worth of games between them. What is so hard to understand? I really have no interest in taking the time to disprove it, but your subjective hypothesis that "many, many teams are worse off" really has no bearing on matters. Fact is if the Ravens want to get back on top there's going to have to be improvements on offense in more areas than just the play of the QB.

I'm sure people know of him... but I haven't heard any buzz. #54 Dalvin Tomlinson Bama DT. First saw him watching Tim Williams and Ryan Anderson and he just kept popping up. Great leverage, anchor and power. High motor for a big man. Great pursuit. Could've gone to Harvard so really smart kid. Both parents have passed so he's overcome tragedy, really mature and self reliant. I really value that kind of thing. Kid knows how quickly you can lose something great in the blink of an eye. Don't think he'll take his NFL opportunity for granted. I don't know where he's projected to go... but if we lose BWill I can see him stepping right in with Pierce. Prob wouldn't take him in the 2nd or with our first 3rd just bc of need and who else I'm expecting to be available but if he's there late 3rd/4th I'd love him. If we lose BWill and he's projected 2nd or 3rd I may even consider him there.

Elam is done here. He was scheduled to be a FA in a couple of weeks and wasn't going to be brought back anyways, but it's still puts a bad look on the Ravens organization. I'd bet this is the first step to his career at Foot Locker, though.

Yeah I don't think we were going to resign him anyway but it seems his odd of getting signed by anyone just went down dramatically. It is a shame. I liked the kid. The stupid decision making makes my head hurt. The odds of "making it" in the NFL are SO slim. Why would you risk stacking the odds against your self? He just played through his rookie contract and no more. That means he is going to have to work the rest of his life.

Your thoughts about the reduction in preparation time and practice time are incredibly valid. The fundamentals of blocking and tackling are lacking as a result of the current CBA. Hopefully the next CBA will allow the players to do more to perfect their craft.

I don't see that... the only thing I see is he starts moving at the snap, when ideally your FS is moving before the snap. He makes plays in run support fairly often too, not Jamal Adams level by a long shot but he does well at being the safety net on run plays

there is nothing to disprove. since drafting Julio the falcons have done next to nothing to add others WRs through the draft. They only drafted 2 other WR in round 4 and 7 since then. Dont think i need to list all the WRs we have spend picks on since drafting Torrey lol TE aint even close to what we have done in filling that position compared to them. They only drafted 2 TE since 2011 in round 3 and 4. we drafted a TE in round 2,3 and 5 not counting waller who was a 6th rounder. Coleman was a 3rd round pick and Freeman was a 4th round pick. we drafted pierce , dixon and allen in the first 4 rounds since 2011. Since 2011 the falcons have drafted 4 oliners in round 1 ,2,3 and 7. We drafted oliners in : 1,2.3,4,4,5,5,5 and 6. Draft wise we have done a lot more for the offense then the falcons and i havent even considerd our pro bowl FB. If you want to argue about FA signings then go ahead but i would not recommend it lol

And due to unfortunate injuries(Pitta, SSS, Perriman, Watson, etc.) much of the efforts haven't panned out so well. Do you think they have done as much for him as, let's say, Atlanta has done for Ryan? I'll answer that for you......hell no. To be frank, this whole line of discussion is, again, ridiculous. Everyone knows improvement is needed from Flacco and I haven't read anything here saying otherwise. I think there was improvement over the course of last year. Seems he was gaining confidence in his knee and there's no reason to think that improvement won't continue. Everyone also knows the Ravens need to add playmakers and just need to improve offensive game planning in general.

Continued Focus on player safety will not speed up a game , in fact just the opposite. Egregious and BS calls due to player safety concerns are drawing flags and 15 yards at every turn slowing the game down. We are forcing the officials to make every call at real time regardless wether they are right or wrong because no body wants to be the official getting ragged on ESPN that didn't make that personal foul call.(remember Suggs and Tom Brady's knee, how about cam Newton every time he runs) If its borderline they call it and its ruining the game. The players know the risk and get paid an awful lot to compensate. There are far more dangerous, important, and lightly compensated jobs in the world like the ones who fight for our country,EMT, police etc ... so give it a rest

How about some decent commentators. Also quit interviewing some retired player during the game. We don't need to see an interview going on while trying to watch the action in a little window up in the corner. Also the exposure isn't how many games are on TV, its the 24 hr news, interviewing the same tired old ex coaches, ex players and hall of famers that all share the same view about the 5 teams that are always featured.

I doubt that Durant actually watched shaq if that's the case. If the 2001 Lakers had to play the 2016 Warriors I stand by the fact that the Lakers would beat them in 7. Shaq would go for 50 or 60 because McGee and Zaza would crap the bed trying to guard him, and even Draymond, their best defensive player wouldn't be able to slow him down, and if the Warriors tried sending him to the foul line, half their damn team would foul out. Likewise, Tomphson, Curry, and Durant would have NO ANSWERS for Kobe. This Warriors team will go down as one of the best ever in all likelihood, but 2001 Lakers with Shaq would eat you for Dinner KD. Shut up.
