Thoroughly convinced that the patriots aren't the best team.. it was the falcons used the dean pees play book at the end of the game...

The most interesting thing about this, and something I've never thought about previously, is that Rice is the only 2nd round pick we've resigned. Sadly, that worked against the team since he only played one year under the new contract and it was a very bad year for him on the field

Yeah, I noticed that, too. Not a lot of second contracts. There are guys they would've like to re-sign, though.

Ok so i'm sure to change this mock before the actual draft but as if right now here are my picks of guys i'd like to see selected. rd1: Dalvin Cook RB: Obviously as a huge FSU fan i'd love this pick and while some may think it's a luxury pick at 16 or too high for Cook, I think fans will love this pick when all said and done. I really like what Dixon and West did as a 1-2 punch but they are basically the same backs. The Ravens need game changers on this offense and Dalvin is that in every sense of the word. Strong, great balance, elusive, decent hands out of the backfield and that 2nd gear to run away from people. Dalvin is not without flaws as his pass pro is awful at times and he puts the ball on the ground occasionally. However overall the Ravens need game changers and I think Cook is just that. rd2: Fabian Moreau CB: This year the Ravens are finally positioned to cash in on the run of CBs being selected. Moreau has great size, speed, physicality and patience as a CB. I wouldn't be surprised to see him shoot up into the 1st round with a strong combine/pro day but right now I have him as a 2nd rounder. However his level of play is right up there with the better CBs of this class and could very well be viewed as the top CB of this class 5 years from now. Rd3: Derek Rivers OLB: much like Moreau he's a guy who could shoot up draft boards after the combine but right now I have him going in the 3rd round. He has a really nice combination of speed and power coming off the edge. He's a pretty smart player and dominated his level of competition. Although that level of competition wasn't great, he showed he can performance against a higher level of competition at the Senior Bowl. The Ravens need more speed on this defense and Rivers has a great first step which allows him to geting into the OT quick and disrupt the timing of the QB. Outside of Suggs and assuming Doom is gone, Rivers might just be the talent at pass rusher on the roster from day 1. Rd3: Rayshawn Jenkins FS:. The Ravens need speed, physicality and playing making ability on the back end. While Jenkins isn't the cleanest FS prospect in this class, I think he's a really good fit for the Ravens. He can play down in the box or centerfield. He has pretty good ball skills and arrives to the ball carrier with nasty intentions. I like him learning behind Weddle and Webb while being used in sub packages his rookie year. Rd4: Danny Isidora OG: The Ravens said they want to get bigger and stronger up front and Isidora would help. He's a power guy that moves well enough to translate to a ZBS as well. He only played RG at the U, so I'm not sure if the Center position is an option but he'll definitely be a a top reserve at OG and has plug and play potential if Wagner isn't re-signed pushing Lewis to RT. Rd5: Darreus Rogers WR: The Ravens spoke about getting a complimentary WR who can keep the chains moving and make plays in big time situations. I think they attack that starting WR role in FA but will draft a guy like Rogers to develop. Rogers has good hands and is a pretty physical WR. He isn't the best route runner and doesn't have great speed, but he does well to get his body between the defender and the ball. I like him as a redzone option as well. I don't see Aiken returning and a guy like Rogers could step in to add a nice pair of reliable hands to this WR corp. Rd6: Jon Toth C: Toth might be selected higher, but I think his 6'5 frameat the center position might turn off a lot of teams. I think his height is a issue at times but with some NFL coaching I think he'll be pretty good. I think he's a Center only and I don't think people will view him as a Pro Bowl caliber one and for that reason I think he's available in the 6th round. Rd7: Fish Smithson S: The Ravens bring the hometown kid back to Baltimore and give him a chance to cut his teeth on ST. Smithson is undersized, lacks speed and doesn't have eye popping talent, but his awareness is pretty good and he has decent ball skills. I could see him as a ST guy who also serves as a reserve Safety. So there is it, now i'll let all you draft guru's rip it apart lol. But i'm almost positive my views will change after the combine.

Zach Orr working to fight opioid addiction is an awesome cause for a former NFL player. He is making an impact in his Baltimore community and the NFL community at large. People need to make a bigger deal about the drug addiction so many ex-NFL players face, and that doesn't even get into the US population at large. My hat is off to you Zach, you're really a great man.

Do you think that everyone else is drafting probowlers every round of every draft? Every team has more misses than hits and that includes the early rounds. Thats how it works. There are easily 15-20 other teams that would kill to have Ozzie as their GM 😀

Ya, see. It's just really hard for me to believe cook will go to the ravens. As much as I like him as a player, he has way too many red flags. And one is for DV (which is a huge problem with our stand on dv). He got other issues that are really shameful as well

You got he right. Compare Matt Highlights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ue7wlWAhgg to compared that to Jamal Adams https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ue7wlWAhgg That bring into question : Is it the drafting or the coaches failure to develop? How about Trawick who sees playing time with the Raider. Yet they bring in Huff off the street.

I've been seeing a lot of posts in articles written and just on the comments and boards here in general about how the Ravens seem to be whiffing on a lot of upper tier picks recently, especially the second round. This got me to thinking...have the Ravens ever drafted well with their second round picks? I plan to post all of the second round picks since the team's inception and let you, the fans decide: 1996: 2nd round: CB: DeRon Jenkins...AKA: "toast." He played four seasons with the Ravens, never a starter, and in his last season with this team was relegated to Special Teams. Hung in for two more unimpressive seasons with SD and TEN. 1997: 2nd Round: LB: Jamie Sharper: Was a 5 year starter with Baltimore and really started to click in his final season with the team. He wasn't a supremely disruptive force in his time with Baltimore but they got a 5 year starter out of the pick and that's exactly what you want out of a high pick. 1997: 2nd Round: S: Kim Herring: Was a full time starter in 2 of his 4 years with the team and put up his best season in his walk year. Cashed in on a big contract with the Rams where he continued to be a good starter before the injury bug bit him hard. I don't think he provided as much value as Sharper did. 1998: 2nd Round: WR: Patrick Johnson: Supremely fast (he once beat Olympic dynamo Carl Lewis in a race) but could never get open or catch a ball. If your first thought when reading the name listed was "WHO?" then you kind of answer the question of feast or famine. 1999: No 2nd round pick. 2000: No 2nd round pick. 2001: 2nd Round: CB: Gary Baxter: Baxter was a 3 year full time starter in his four seasons with Baltimore. At 6'2'' 204lbs he was a force to be reckoned with and paired up extremely well opposite Chris McAlister. He played very well for us and cashed in big with Cleveland but injuries caught up with him as well and derailed his career. I presonally think this was a good pick. 2002: 2nd Round: DL: Anthony Weaver: Was a 4 year full time starter in each of his seasons with the team. He was a disruptive force as he caused fumbles, swatted away passes, and did get to the QB a bit. He went on to be another 3 year full time starter for Houston before a shoulder injury ended his career. 2003: No 2nd Round Pick 2004: 2nd Round: DT: Dwan Edwards: Edwards was a rotational player for the first three seasons and then became a regular starter for the final two seasons here with Baltimore, played two seasons with Buffalo as a starter and then four more seasons with Carolina as a starter and then rotational guy that saw plenty of snaps until his final season with them in 2015. He was better in his time after a Raven, especially with Carolina when he became a pass rushing threat. While we didn't get all the value out of him that he had, his success elsewhere and 11 year career I think proves that he was a good pick. 2005: 2nd Round Pick: Dan Cody: Cody was a hyped pick but unfortunately barely ever played due to blowing out his knee in camp almost as soon as we got him in camp. This pick was a bust simply because we never got to see him play. 2005: 2nd Round Pick: OT: Adam Terry: Terry had the looks, a big guy at 6'8'' 330lbs he had the makings of a monster mauler type. Unfortunately he didn't have the heart or durability to ever fulfill that promise. He spent four unimpressive seasons as a back up/situational starter for us before missing all of a season and then playing 2 games for SD. 2006: 2nd Round Pick: OG: Chris Chester: At 6'3'' 300lbs. and being a former TE, he had the athleticism the Ravens were looking for, but wasn't as physical as he needed to be in our system at the time. He was a full time starter for the team in the three of his last five seasons with the team and then went on to be a full time starter for the rest of his career which was 4 more years with Washington and 2 more with Atlanta. He was a good player overall, just didn't fit our scheme at the time. 2007: No Second Round Pick 2008: 2nd Round Pick: RB: Ray Rice: Don't think I need to say too much here. Without Rice we probably don't win the second SB. Unfortunately an off the field domestic abuse issue forced his premature departure with this team and as a result cost him the rest of his career. 2009: 2nd Round Pick: DE/OLB: Paul Kruger: Part of Kruger's issue is that the Ravens couldn't decide if he was an End or an OLB in our system and Kruger didn't thrive in any as a starter. He found success in his last two seasons, especially in his final season as a situational pass rusher and then starter down the stretch and in the playoffs for the Ravens. Cashed in BIG with the Browns where in three seasons he turned in only one good one and was ultimately cut before signing on with the Saints to have yet another poor season. 2010: 2nd Round Pick: OLB: Sergio Kindle: Ouch. We never got to see what kind of pass rushing monster Kindle could be because almost right after we drafted him he "slept walked" after drinking a lot at a party and fell down a flight of stairs which fractured his skull and left him with some permanent hearing loss. But that's okay because we had ANOTHER 2nd round pick in 2010, right? 2010: 2nd Round Pick: DT/NT: Terrence Cody: AKA: "Mt. Cody" was a massive body that the Ravens envisioned eating up blockers in the middle of the defense and allowing everyone else to roam free. Unfortunately Cody ate lots of other things. At nearly 400lbs perhaps his combine numbers should have said something to the Ravens as he did only 19 reps of 225lbs. Add in injury issues and you got a big disappointment figuratively and literally speaking. Ouchx2. 2011: 2nd Round Pick: WR: Torrey Smith: Paired up with big arm QB Joe Flacco Torrey used his great speed to very good results in this offense and becoming the ONLY drafted WR by the Ravens to go over 1,000 yards in a season. Able to make big time plays and score the football he was a full time starter in each of his four seasons in Baltimore. Due a big pay raise, he cashed in big in FA with the 49ers and has had two lackluster seasons with them. 2012: 2nd Round Pick: OG: Kelechi Osemele: He may be one of the best Guards in the game right now as a sheer massive mauler and was a full time starter in each of his four seasons with the Ravens and was credited for the turn around in Oakland in his first full season with them. If nagging injuries don't become more bothersome moving forward he may be an all time great as he's missed at least some playing time in each year following his first with the Ravens. 2013: 2nd Round Pick: MLB: Arthur Brown: Brown never made it passed Special Teams contributor in his three seasons with the Ravens before they finally gave up on him and he then spent 2016 between the Jets and Jags as a special teamer as well. 2014: 2nd Round Pick: DT: Timmy Jernigan: Jernigan is a bit of an enigma right now as he at times shows flashes of becoming a disruptive force from the interior line, but getting derailed by stupid penalties or just lack of production. He's become a full time starter in his third season with the Ravens and it will be interesting to see if it finally clicks for him in his next season. If it does plan on Jernigan walking for a huge pay day as big time pass rushing threats from his position are rare commodities. 2015: 2nd Round Pick: TE: Maxx Williams: Williams like Jernigan is a question mark right now, when on the field he's shown flashes of being the Todd Heap-like playmaker the Ravens thought they were getting. But nagging injuries in his first season kept him off the field and a major injury kept him completely off the field in 2016. He will need to stay healthy and regain his form next season. It will be a big make or break year for him IMO. 2016: 2nd Round Pick: LB: Kamalei Correa: An under the radar pick, the Ravens had fans questioning the pick from the onset even though pundits around praised how well Correa shows up on film. Perhaps they should have questioned the competition level he faced. Admittedly he does look good to my eyes on his college game tape, but now he's going up against the best of the best. He was hyped so much but other than getting into scrums with veterans (including one that broke one of Dennis Pitta's fingers/thumb) he made literally no noise. Thinking his game doesn't quite match up for a outside rushing threat and an injury forcing Zach Orr to retire there is talk of KC moving to ILB. He got limited playing time in his rookie season partially due to unimpressive play and a major injury. It will be interesting to see just what he turns into going forward.

This article IMHO is not worth the read. Pure and simple the Ravens are much closer than they are far off. To put things into proper perspective, a big reason why the ravens run defense is as stout as it is, is because of BW. You take him out of the equation and the run defense suffers period. Remember he picked up and filled the void left by Ngata and did not miss a beat. This will only be more evident now that Z Orr unfortunately had to retire, who happened to be a tackling machine last season. Complain for more weapons. I hear it every year but what everyone is ignoring is the fact they have WR's already that they need to utilize better. So many in fact, most of them do not see significatn snaps. If they cannot get enough out of their WR's, then it is time to address the scouting of WR, the development of WR and the coaching of WR even down to the offensive strategies being implemented. When you have a history of drafting well on defense and a history of not drafting well specifically at WR, you gotta be honest and fix things in house instead of passing the blame along to the players all the time. Always going to go get a vet WR suggest they are already aware of this fact and continue to ignore it. Fix this issue in house and stop with "we need more help at WR". There is also no need to go sign a FA CB. Draft and develop and save the salary cap space for the players already on this team that must be retained. Reaching for a FA to fix a situation is always a risk which eats up more cap space than drafting well and developing. Only real reason to get a FA is if you have that much spare cap space or if a drafted player cannot be expected to contribute in a meaningful manner. An ostrich must have written this article, with their head buried in the sand. Reality is much different when viewed from above ground.

Why can't we get that Harbaugh and Reed are like oil and water. Immiscible people with the same end goal. Reed is a free flower in thought and talk, Harbaugh on the other hand is a guy who says what he thinks we need to hear or not. He is guarded, will lie in a heartbeat to serve team needs, etc. Reed wears truth and his heart on his sleeves and is prone to emotions. Most of all, the two can't get along. While Reed is the epitome of a Baltimore Raven, John is on his last leg here if he can't get us to the playoffs. Next year, if we fail to make the playoff again John will be fired and the new coach may ask Reed to come coach for him.

This is one "let's bash Pees" train I will get on. i think Pees has done a good job, but KC is a guy that could definitely benefit by being a hybrid player and lining up in a lot of different positions. I don't think Pees is anywhere near creative enough to get the most out of KC.

If it weren't for Flacco there would not be a SB win! You need to donate his jersey because you obviously don't cherish it. I disagree. We would have still won without Flacco. The fact really is that without pro bowl players around him, Flacco can't even get to the playoffs let alone Super Bowl . Tyrod would not have lead us through the playoffs and Super Bowl victory like Joe did. CASE CLOSED.

By the way, this is a bit of a gentlemen's rule, but it would help for the newcomers to be made aware of it. If there's a situation where a future FA signee, a future draftee, etc. are still hanging in the balance, we don't discuss them until their fates are sealed. I.e., if we're at the FA period, and I believe that Player X is getting overpaid or underpaid, or whether I want to chime in on their worth, I would save it until after they're signed. Same goes for the draft portion as well.

My honest fear is we'll end up paying more than we should to retain Williams and let Wagner go. Wagner is a rock solid RT and is getting better. Williams is maxed out and we know what we're going to get from him. He gets double teamed, is a great run stopper but doesn't penetrate like other great DTs that are highly paid. I think we should let Brandon walk for a compensatory pick and sign Wagner, Guy and Juice. Listening to Mink of BR.com talk about how they're going to go after Williams made me wonder if they actually will. He has replacements in house right now. We have Pierce who is an able run stopping replacement with a low center of gravity and weight comparable to Williams except he gets more penetration imo. We have Henry and Davis on standby as well along with Jernigan and Guy. Speaking of Guy, he is the more important DL signing in my view. He is rock solid and just gets it done play after play. He reminds me of the production of JJ in a way. Now I don't pay too much attention to what Mink says because frankly he is just a reporter for BR.com and has no inside track and is basing all these articles on a 3 minute interview he had with DeCosta at the Senior Bowl.

I've always thought the revisionist history by Ravens fans in regards to Boldin was interesting. 104 yards and a TD in the superbowl is great for a WR, it's never been Superbowl MVP worthy. I used to think fans viewed his total playoff performance when saying he deserved MVP, but 380 yards and 4 TDs in 4 games as a WR doesn't hold a candle to 1140 yards, 11 TDs, and 0 INTs as a QB. Jacoby you could make a good argument for though, for the superbowl specifically. 290 all purpose yards and 2 TDs is crazy good

I may be in the minority here, but I want no part of Ray Lewis as a coach for the Ravens at this time. I think he has too much of a "look at me" personality and would be a distraction. Plus, I have no clue whether he can coach or not. He is too big of a legend for him to come here as a coach and potentially fail. I can't imagine the backlash that would happen if he came here and failed as a coach and he had to be fired. Granted, I am all for him pursuing a coaching job if that is what he wants, but I feel that would be best in a different location for both him and the Ravens (at least until he can prove he's an effective coach)

I have said all along that this is my dream scenario..top tier corner in Round 1 and Desmond King in Round 2 (which it seems his stock is dropping just a bit...I think he would be a steal in the 2nd round)

Quarterback Zach Terrell from Western Michigan. Doesn't have the biggest arm, but he's smart with the football, doesn't turn it over, and can run well enough when things break down. I see him as sort of a poor man's Dak Prescott. He could be pretty good as a long term backup.

The crazy thing too was the Pats first drive in that 4th qtr where they got down inside the 5 or 10 -- they settled for the FG. BB took the points knowing they needed to come away with 3 at some point. Yet the OC that's up multiple scores was still trying to put longsword in when all he needed was the dagger. It was insanity to keep throwing there. Kill a minute or more of clock there and the Pats probably don't come back. Get the 3 and they probably don't come back. Kill clock AND get those 3 and it's game over. If you're not confident in running the ball there for whatever insane reason, just take a freaking knee. I cannot for the life of me understand Shanahan's thinking there. Especially when everything that could go wrong was going wrong... and everything was going right for the Pats -- you've got to let your offense come off the field and your D go on the field on a positive.

There has been too many second round busts. Max Williams, Correa, Arthur Brown. Not to say Williams and Correa don't have potential but very concerning they have seen barely any playing time, luckily we do pretty well in the mid rounds and un drafted. It would be nice to see our fist two picks in the secondary and the two third round picks go towards our O Line. We always do well with line backers and D line men, so I am not too concerned, but the secondary and O line has been trash for years. I really hope Correa steps up next year, and for Williams I am just not sure if I see him beating out Watson/Pitta (one will be cut) or Crockett if healthy, there is also a reason we still have Boyle, I thought he looked really good his first year. This team still has a ton of holes, which won't be filled in one year unfortunately. Feels like we are in the same position as last year unfortunately, except with more cap room. Maxx Willaims was hardly a second round bust. He broke most of the rookie records for tight ends and weve had some good tight ends. How can you say our O-line has been trash? We have drafted some excellent talent like Stanley and Alex Lewis this year and Rick Wagner not so long ago.

Expensive linemen walking from the Ravens after their rookie contracts run out is nothing new. Just off the top of my head there was Micheal Oher who could have been a serviceable RT, Ben Grubbs who went on to become a Pro Bowl LG, and Jason Brown C who was a very good center for many years. Of course KO left last season as well. You can't spend 60-70 million on 5 offensive linemen so you will have perhaps 3 anchors and the others will all be rotational guys. Our anchors right now are Yanda and Stanley; if Stanley pans out to be everything he looks like he will be, the Ravens will keep him in Baltimore. You don't let franchise LT's walk.

Stop talking about guys that have been here for years and "may" have some potential? After 2-3 years it's just time to let them go. We need to draft SMART. Hire Ed Reed, maybe he could not only teach but give our "D" some attitude like what he and Ray Lewis once did. Just hire the guy, with our "D" what do we have to lose!!!
  34. 1 point
Without Justin Tucker the Ravens would have lost 3-4 more games this year. He is way more valuable than the majority of our team. Only if we had a coach and and QB that understood his value by taking the points when we are in his range instead of going for it on 4th Down, or turning the ball over. IMO Perriman can become a number 1 WR, but needs to work on making the tough catches in traffic. If you look at his numbers in 2016 he had 66 targets for 499 yards and 3 TDs. Most number 1's are targeted ~140 times. If Perriman had the same production on 140 targets he would have had 1048 yards and 6 TDs.

“If letting go of the talented nose tackle means the Ravens can bring in a high-impact wide receiver or cornerback, it’s worth it in the long run." Logic challenge: Change that "or" to an "and" to become a true statement.

I definitely don't see this teams window for winning as now. In fact, I don't even see that window being open for another year or two.

Honestly, I'd rather have Doom, because he'd probably be cheaper. Just as a reference, Robert Mathis, who is 35 and was coming off a 7 sack season in 2015, made $5M last season as a situational pass rusher. He didn't have nearly the production that Alexander did, though he does have a bigger pedigree I guess. The point being that "cheap" veteran edge rushers that are actually still somewhat good get like $3-5M a year. Doom is due $5M, has a better pedigree as a rusher than Alexander, and arguably might cost less. I personally have zero interest in signing a veteran pass rusher whatsoever. I'd rather have 3 young guys who may not even be good than one aging veteran. We're just delaying the inevitable at that point.

Problem is he doesn't want to listen to coaches, work on how to run routes or study game film. Talent alone doesn't do anything in the NFL, hence the 4th or 5th WR on the Vikings. Doesn't want to put in the work.....

Just my opinion, but I don't think run-first offense win SBs without an all-time great defense. If you look at all of the elite defenses who won the SB, 2013 Seahawks, 2015 Broncos, 2000 Ravens or 1985 Bears, they were primary rushing attacks but they won because they had a defense so great that they could control the tempo of the game and allow the offense to have massive TOP. We can't have that right now and I think the passing game should be as big of a priority as the run game. I would like to see the Ravens be able to beat anyone through the air and just crush teams there, teams are winning that way now, it's a passing league so why not get with the times? Of course the run game should be a big part of the offense but not the primary focus.

Draft up and include some late rounders so we can get players that can start like Stanley. Forget the best on the board stuff, go for class players!!! We have to get a center, 2 DB's and a fast LB in the first 3 rounds or less.

I would be a proponent of signing McCown as our backup QB, if the price was right. He's a solid veteran and we've obviously all seen he has gas in the tank.
  46. 1 point
Yeah I totally agree here. Both Flacco and Jones played lights out... But in that scenario you give it to the guy who has been more consistent throughout the entire playoffs and the player you think will be with your franchise longer and the more valuable player.

I wanted Ozzie to resign Upshaw in the first place when he was a free agent but instead they want a draft pick SMH. The worst part was that he was not expensive to resign. We could've sign him a 2 or 3 year deal. l kept saying that we should've kept Upshaw because he was he was a very underrated player that is good against the run and ok at passrushing. Upshaw is physical.
  48. 1 point
Or you know.... The linebacker core of Suggs and Dumervil are ancient.. And you lost a all-pro Zachary Orr that you have to replace.

If salary cap were not an issue then maybe there would be room for him. Yes he's a ball hawking safety, but at his age, being in the prime of his career, he will command a high price tag. To pick up a player like him would most likely mean saying goodbye to BW and maybe others. It makes much more sense to draft a younger safety and take advantage of good veteran leaders already on the team to show them the ropes. In almost every case like this, I would agree with you 100%. And I think taking a very good young safety would be a good idea while Weddle is around. But I have some interesting thoughts about signing Berry. BW may get offered a ton of money and go elsewhere no matter what. Same with Wagner. Esp since we don't tend to make huge offers before FA. And Berry would cost a lot, but we have a lot of moves we can make to free up 20+mil in cap space. And most of the moves make a lot of sense imo. Then, with the way things have gone the past few years, especially last year, I think it's clear that Harb's and the staff, and quite possibly Ozzie as well, are on the hot seat this year. Time to win. And our window is still open. Esp while Suggs is around for one more year...at least I hope so. So if Berry did get away from KC, going after him would not only be a win now move, but also for years to come. If he becomes available and we really wanted him, I think we could get him. Plus it would have to be enticing for him to come the Ravens and play side by side with the highest rated safety in the Game. Weddle+Berry+Tavon+Jimmy+1rst round CB= best secondary in the NFL for years. Hands down. And as much as I can't believe we could actually find someone to replace BW, Pierce is a stud! Both are better, but I'd rather have Berry over BW if it came down to that. Though I know they won't cost the exact same amount. KC is ridiculousif they can't work out a deal with him but we'll see. They wouldn't have even made the playoffs without that guy this year. I hope they pieved him off enough though. There's nothing I would love more than to go into next year with Weddle+Berry+Jimmy+Tavon+Quincy Wilson as our secondary. Nothing

This is where the miss on Elam and Terence Brooks (my guy! Go Noles!) really come back to bite The Ravens. Two highly touted college Safeties drafted in the 1st 3 rounds and neither will make it to a second contract. I thought pairing Elam's (college) toughness with Brooks' speed and ball skills would've set Baltimore up for years. Too bad it didn't.
