Wallace and I'm not thinking too hard about it. I got a lot of love for what Torrey has done here but I think Wallace can do a bit more than him.

Please don't quote entire mock drafts. If you are responding to a mock draft thread, anyone with an ounce of common sense will know you are commenting on the mock draft. It is just unnecessary scrolling for everyone, especially on mobile. Not too bad right now but there are still a lot of mocks that we will see before the draft

How awesome would it be to take a guy named BOWSER. Maybe he can kidnap that princess Brady in next years AFCG

Thank you. I couldn't stand going through 15 minutes of Redskins just to get a 5 minute piece on the Ravens. I won't pretend to act like I know enough about network deals to say what Mr. B should or shouldn't do, I just hope wherever RaveTV goes they have some knowledgeable guys giving insight on the Ravens

Again, it would be incredibly stupid to cut Wallace, let alone for Torrey Smith. Please no!!!

Part of the Denver stuff was before he had the bipolar thing diagnosed but he does a lot for charity and the community. Plus if you had to deal with Gino Smith, Fitzpatrick, Hackenburg as your QBs you would probably want to leave town too.

I think we need to call this guy, i have absolutely no clue what you just said but ill assume it all meant , "joe sucks, trade him."

Well Steve believes in Harbs leading the team in 2017, so our fans should respect that... So you want our owner acting like SD and Rams owners who refused to upgrade their stadium and ended up going to their neighbor and sharing their backyard? You want our PLS owners and fans who are paying tickets to the game sitting in old stadium without perks and conveniences? when other team continue to upgrade their stadium to accommodate fans' interests? PS: don't take things for granted.....look around the league and see how lucky we are to have Steve as an own who cares about the Ravens nation and the fans....

Heard Feeney played some snaps at C at the Senior Bowl with good results, that's interesting.

If only he'd been able to hit Brady as hard as he was able to hit Ben a few years ago.

A CB cant get interceptions if the WR is covered...and the qb doesnt even throw the ball his way.... I stopped reading after that sentence, pretty sure that was a good idea

Why is cutting Wallace even brought up. He did exactly what we wanted him to do. Why sign him in the first place then. That would be bad business
  15. 3 points
According to DeCosta the Ravens are looking for: "I think we're looking for a guy that can catch the ball, move the chains and get critical first downs when needed." He added that he wanted someone that could line up all over the field, similar to how SSS did. Aside from the top couple of guys, Zay Jones and Evan Engram seem to perfectly fit what the Ravens want.

It's awesome to see Brady going down twice on a set of downs. That'll be enough to get into his head for a while. Keep it going Falcons.

I'm with Allblack. I would love to see a 50-10 Falcons win.

I have to agree. It appeared as if Mike Wallace and Flacco have some chemistry. Hell, I'd argue that Flacco was starting to trust PERRIMAN more down the line than he ever did for Torrey.

#RiseUp But seriously, the Christmas game and these playoff games have really sucked the interest out of me. I'm looking forward for this game to be over so we can squarely focus on the offseason.

If the Ravens could go 12-4/13-3 every year like the Pats do M&T Bank Stadium would be a much better place to watch a game. Funny how that works.

If the 49ers release him, then he's a FA with no contract, so a team could sign him to whatever deal they wanted. For 2017, you are correct. He has a $6.5M salary, with $1.5M in offseason roster and workout bonuses, so he's due $8M. His cap hit is $9.6M, with $4.8M in dead money. So the 49ers could move on from him and gain $4.8M in cap space. I suppose if you looked at his lack of production in SF, paying him $8M this season doesn't seem good either, especially for a team rebuilding. That being said, the reason I doubt he comes back to Baltimore is because he and Mike Wallace are the same player, and you could argue Perriman is a similar player as well. I see no scenario where Torrey and Wallace are on the team at the same time, so it would be one or the other. It would seem cheaper to just keep Wallace at that point.

Steph Curry missed a wide open game winning layup down by one. Steph Curry wears 30, the warriors lost by 1, 30+1=31, 31 with a hyphen is 3-1. The Warriors blew a 3-1 lead. Never forget

Is he viewed as a top 64 talent? We're still a good way off, but I haven't seen him ranked in the second, but I'd love Curtis Samuel.

There's no guarantee in the 1st Round either - Fowler, Bud Dupree, Shaq Thompson, Shaq Lawson, Leonard Floyd, Jarvis Jones, Dee Ford, etc have all been "busts" despite taken in the 1st Round. Outside of Khalil Mack and Vic Beasley (both selected in the Top 10) - every pass rusher drafted in the 1st Round in the last 4 years has been a bust. And in reality, besides those 2, EVERY pass rusher drafted in all rounds of the last 4 years has been a bust (so far).....Labeling a player a bust after 1 or 2 years is premature as I think a couple of those names above can have a decent NFL career - it takes time to develop to be a productive player in the NFL. Part of the reason it's so hard to find pass rushers is because almost all of them played their entire college career going against college Tackles that aren't good enough to be back-ups in the NFL. Only 1 Tackle from the SEC will get drafted in the 1st 3 rounds this year (Cam) and he projects more of a Guard at the NFL level. Fowler was essentially a rookie this year as he missed last season with a torn ACL, Dupree was good this year and coming on before missing time with injury, Shaq Thompson is used as a Will in a 4-3, Floyd as a rookie notched 7 sacks, Lawson is a rookie and played in 8 games due to injury, Dee ford had 10 sacks behind Tamba Hali and Justin Houston. I'm confused by your argument. You labeled these guys busts, but you said it's premature.

And I don't think he's been an issue with the Jets. He's outspoken and brutally honest at times... but from what I've gathered Sheldon Richardson is the cancer there and Marshall wasn't having it. When it got public Marshall acted more professionally taking more of the high road. No doubt he's a personality that can require massaging but this is a locker room that can handle it. Ed Reed, Pollard, Steve Smith, Ricky Williams, Bryant McKinnie, Will Hill, Shannon Sharpe, Goose, Suggs, etc... All guys with big personalities, outspoken or controversial at times (not all really "cancers") that fit in well and thrived here. Many even were or became ambassadors of sorts for the organization... and even some of their personalities boiled over with off the field or behind the scenes stuff (the mutiny, failed drug tests) none really became a public distraction or hurt the locker room. Plus Harbs has a friendly relationship with Marshall... and he seems better suited to be in a veteran locker room and a culture of winning. Im all for Marshall. I think he's exactly what we need on offense. Skill set wise, production wise, personality/attitude wise, and age/value as well. We need a big strong target for Joe that can move the chains, win when covered, win in the red zone, that oozes confidence and step in day 1 producing. Marshall, Perriman, and Wallace could be absolutely lethal if Perriman takes that next big step. If Camp can stay healthy I see him becoming a big part of the offense too. 3 yrs $21m... $10m guaranteed with a $5m signing bonus prorated over the first two years. Fully guaranteed $4m salary year 1... so that way you've only got $3.5m dead year 2 if you cut him and none year 3.

Ah I got ya, I would much rather have Marshall than not though

i see no reason for us to go for anyone but BRANDON MARSHALL.. hes what weve needed for the past 10 years. BRANDON MARSHALL PLEASEEEEEEEEEE
  36. 2 points
In fact, Marshall is the one WR I think fits our team and cap space. He'll elevate Flacco as a QB and make him look decent too. He has a wide catching radius and makes contested catches in a crowd. S

He needs a couple more years of his level of play. He's been the best interior lineman of his generation. Maybe the best lineman - period - especially if you consider his versatility.

Big riser is Takk McKinley. He'll storm up boards after the combine. I think his tape is better than given credit for. Faller at this point is Tim Williams for sure

don't read stats as a clear indication of a players performance... It's only part of the story

I'd be a big fan of this pick. I think he'd be a great complement to Dixon and be a bit more reliable than West.

It's just becoming more clear you don't even watch Jimmy play so this debate is pointless. You say states are pointless and then in 2 successive posts ask me how many passes defended and then how many interceptions?? Lol. And that he gives up a big cushion and therefore too many short easy completions... that's just factually incorrect. Not even an opinion it's just flat out wrong. Know what can help a team get a lot of interceptions? One CB shutting down an entire side of the field and often taking away the QBs #1 option so that he has to throw late into really crowded double teams. Jimmy often cuts the field in half and allows the safeties and LBs to shade help everywhere else. Look back at how many INTs we had that were easy. QBs throwing late to crowded bad spots on the field. Jimmy has something to do with that. And Jimmy has dropped a few INTs he should have. Yea I'd like him to get more. But it's not bc he isn't in position or can't jump routes or gives too much cushion. Hes rarely thrown at. When he is it's for very short yardage (hard to jump a pass when you're just getting into your back pedal and prob easier if you did give some cushion) or the ball is thrown to a spot where neither the WR or CB can get it bc his coverage is so good. Even with that he had his fair share that he's dropped. 2-3 come to mind right away. And yes, he should get those. But that doesn't make him any less lock down. Every day of the week I'll take a guy who gives nothing up but doesn't make any INTs over a guy who gives up big plays and grabs 4 INTs. Youre just grasping at straws now... you blasted stats at first saying they're for losers and now have tried to argue two of the most meaningless ones for evaluating coverage ability. Jimmy had a lot of help from deep Safeties this year?!? What???? Jimmy Smith is #22 in the purple and black uniform. You sure that's who you're talking about?

It's not much of Kubiak's offense anymore. The OL scheme is going away a bit from his traditional ZBS and I feel that more elements to the offense are going to be added. Bringing in players that are a fit for what he sees desires in a offense that doesn't match up with what we want/do could backfire.
  45. 1 point
Ok that's fair. Either way I knew we would get a 3rd. KO may have had the 4th largest but it still equates to a 3rd Rd comp

Currently watching the Senior Bowl, very impressed by Jon Toth, C, Kentucky. Both strong and quick to get to the second level, smart in his placement.

I don't get this line of thinking. The 2012 defense was average at best all year. The 49ers are tied for the NFL record for most points scored in a superbowl loss. Did Ray not inspire the players that played next to him? And will we also ignore that players have come out and said Ray's words don't do much for them? I know Flacco himself has said it and he was the MVP of that superbowl run easily. Defenders have said it also, like McAlister years ago for example. Harbaugh's team won that superbowl regardless. Only 5 members were part of Billick's regime (Yanda, Suggs, Ray, Ed, and Koch). And we're apparently going to ignore the injured teams since Ray's departure that were a game short of being in the playoffs (2013), barely lost the divisional round to the eventual champs (2014), and heavily injured (2015). Let's also act like the Ravens never missed the playoffs 3 of 4 years when Ray was rah rah'ing it up all game long and in his prime (2002-2005).

ok then, what about the way he changed the way our secondary played, was an extra coach on the field, came up with more ints this season than the entire secondary did last year? and you have to be doing something pretty damn right to be labelled the first team all pro strong safety by PFF ahead of the premier names in your first season on a new team...
  49. 1 point
To piggyback your point, he was graded as the best safety in the league last year regardless of position. He might be listed as a strong safety, but as you mentioned, he wasn't used traditionally, often sitting back in the robber role or playing single-high. As a defense, we had the lowest missed tackles through most of the year, and we were one of the best swarming run defenses in the league for the majority of the season, so of course Weddle's tackles were assisted on a high percentage. The number that should be taken into account is that Weddle had just 2 missed tackles through 13 weeks, which was the lowest total among all safeties in the NFL. Judging his performance off of his assist totals is incredibly shallow. With regards to Webb, I do wonder whether his finish will make the decision more difficult. He reportedly graded out as a Top 5 safety through the last 9 weeks.

I think we need a better strong safety and free safety. Eric weddle is above average but with all his assisted tackles and not enough solo tackles makes me wonder if his best years are behind him. Ladarius Webb is a better tackler than Weddle but Weddle is better at picking the ball off. Maybe their roles need to be reversed. I truly dont like either of them manning the back end. I need some pop at safety.
