Wallace and I'm not thinking too hard about it. I got a lot of love for what Torrey has done here but I think Wallace can do a bit more than him.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000775730/article/xavier-rhodes-leads-top10-no-1-cornberbacks The ranking is just the Top 10 #1 Corners in terms of passer rating allowing when in coverage, but the write up on Jimmy points out a few key stats. The 45% catch rate of receivers in his coverage was 2nd lowest in the league, and the just over 9 yds per reception in his coverage was THE lowest. Also, in looking at the team passer rating chart... you see just how dominant our right side coverage (defensive) was.... where Jimmy mostly lined up. Nice to see someone outside Baltimore taking notice of Jimmy's dominance, and diving deeper than just INT's and break ups to show statistically how great he's been. Also nice to have that validation and some concrete numbers to throw at fans of other teams when I argue with them that Jimmy definitely is a Top 5-10 CB in the NFL... and they disagree just because they haven't heard of him.

How awesome would it be to take a guy named BOWSER. Maybe he can kidnap that princess Brady in next years AFCG

I was really going to wait until after the combine and the start of FA to make my third mock draft but it's late and I have nothing better to do...so buckle up, here we go. I usually don't try to predict trades, but I'll make an exception here since this is being made pretty much on the fly. We trade our 1st (16th overall) and 3rd (Comp) to Detroit in exchange for their 1st (21st overall), 3rd, and 4th. So basically we're moving back in the first, up in the third, and acquiring a 4th. Round 1 (pick 21) - Sidney Jones // CB // Washington // 6'0", 185 lbs Jones is my top all around CB in the draft, but here I have him as the third CB taken behind Wilson and Lattimore. Why? I feel Wilson is the better CB within 20 yards of the LOS, but Jones is better all around, and Lattimore just has wicked potential. Jones is remarkable at staying with his man no matter what and staying disciplined while in coverage. Personally I think he's the best all around coverage corner in the draft, he doesn't have a major pitfall in any kind of coverage, he can do it all. On top of that, he is a surprisingly reliable run defender as well. We saw this past year what happens to our defense when Jimmy inevitably gets hurt, we go from being a contender for the best unit in football to hot garbage. Jones can step in right away and start opposite Jimmy on the outside, and let Tavon move inside to slot where his skillset is better suited. If/when Jimmy goes down we can kick Tavon back out and keep rolling forward. Round 2 - Haason Reddick // ILB/EDGE // Temple // 6'1", 237 lbs Reddick is a very interesting prospect, I don't know if there is anyone in the LB class that is more athletically gifted than him. I fully believe that with him and Correa on the field together our unit would be extremely tricky for offensive coordinators and players alike to decode, having two guys that can switch between ILB and EDGE would allow for some creative playcalling that'll disguise what we're going to do. Together he and Correa can be a duo that plays off each other and make each other better. The two of them on the field together would shut up the Correa deniers real quick, they seem like a pair that could spell nightmares for opposing offenses. However, I would be remiss if I failed to mention that Reddick is in danger of not being here, in a relatively weak ILB top end, and he being so athletic and smart, he could start to rise even moreso than he already has. Round 3 - Jay Guillermo // C/G // Clemson // 6'3", 310 lbs It's no secret that Zuttah was the weakest link in our starting oline unit, we need to draft his successor. Since the Gradkowski debacle Zuttah has been a valuable asset starting at center for us and being mostly reliable, but this past year he took a very noticeable step backward. With a year of development Guillermo can take over from Zuttah and be our center for the future, in the mean time he is valuable depth up front in case injuries keep popping up. Guillermo fits the new look our oline seems like it'll go in now that we have a new set of coaches working with them, Guillermo is nothing if not a mauler. I don't think he'll be a guy capable of taking over year 1, so with him I think Zuttah will most definitely be starting come next year, which many around here would hate, but he's safer than the alternatives. Round 3 (from earlier trade) - Noah Brown // WR // Ohio State // 6'2", 220 lbs I know people hate taking WRs based on potential, especially since it hasn't worked out amazingly for us yet, but Brown is a very special case. First of all, I expect us to address the WR position in FA, honestly I don't think we can afford not to, the FA WR class is relatively strong with some notable names that we can afford to add, i.e. Garcon, maybe even a Brandon Marshall if he gets cut. Now Brown has all of the tools to be a great WR, he should have stayed for his final year at OSU, but he decided to declare early. He's a big bodies WR with good speed - though not a speedster, maybe he can sneak into the late 4.4s as far as the 40 goes - but on tape I am impressed with his ability in the intermediate area and his release off the snap is top tier, the guy gets separation more than his receiving numbers would indicate. Probably my favorite thing about him is that he is a very aggressive run blocker, just watch the guy, when it's time to run block in gets in there and attacks, which is great for a team like us that really wants to establish the run from the onset of the game. Round 4 - Ejuan Price // EDGE // Pittsburgh // 5'10", 246 lbs Unfortunately, based on where he's from it's pretty safe to assume that he's a Steelers fan, that being said, I'm happy to look the other way in this case. If Price is available this late then all teams are foolish to let him go by unpicked. Forget about his height, as a situational pass rusher in the NFL Price will be a star from the get go. His spin move is Freeney-esque, but he uses a variety of moves to get to opposing QBs and he's damn good at getting there. He's an immediate upgrade to our lacking pass rush and, in my opinion, he does have the strength to be more than just a situational guy eventually. Round 4 (from earlier trade) - Jordan Morgan // OG // Kutztown // 6'2", 313 lbs Another Senior Bowl kid that really impressed me playing at LG, held up very well in both pass blocking and getting very good push as a run blocker. Small school guy so he obviously needs some work, personally what I saw at the Senior Bowl as an area that could be improved is that he's impatient, if he doesn't have someone directly in front of him to block he moves out of position to block someone off the LOS, leaving the QB potentially vulnerable and opening himself up to a penalty for being downfield. Also, while run blocking he tended to move his guy straight back rather than trying to wall him off and opening up a hole. That being said, he held up very well against both Carlos Watkins and Montravious Adams, two guys that I really, really like that'll go much earlier than him, and I feel like both of the problems that I mentioned are fixable in time. One of our downfalls this season was lack of depth along the oline, Jensen regresses and Urschel just hasn't taken the step forward that we want him to. Now add into the equation that it's a possibility that Wagner will leave in FA (hopefully not, I think it would be a mistake to let him go), kicking Lewis out to RT in all likelihood, leaving us with a gaping hole at LG, we need interior blockers badly. One of the more intriguing - at least to me - things that I've found while going through the process is that in the past 10 years (possibly even further back, I didn't go back farther) we have taken a small school guy every year with only one exception (2011). I don't know about you all, but this is just a pattern that I never really noticed. And also something to keep in mind: we met with Morgan at the Senior Bowl, take from that what you will about whether we like him or not. Round 5 - D.J. Killings // CB // UCF // 5'10", 180 lbs Getting to that point in the draft where I'm just going to name an under the radar guys that I like, Killings is that guy. He's on the smaller side, but the guy is really smooth and QBs didn't challenge him all that much, however, when he was challenged he always showed up. Obviously not a perfect prospect right out of the gate, is any CB this late? but I see the tools of a guy that will surprise some people if given the shot. We need depth at slot CB, believe it or not I don't want to rely on Powers again next season, and I like DJ's fit with us. Round 6 - John Law // ILB // Appalachian State // 6'1", 235 lbs Again, guy I really like, see sideline to sideline athletic ability, coverage skills, packs some punch in the run game, and possibly most important, the instincts are there. ILB depth was a problem even when Zach Orr was on the team, now that he's gone we could use another guy, even if it's someone who won't see the field much aside from special teams. Also, having an ILB named "Johnny Law" would just be great. Round 7 - Karel Hamilton // WR // Samford // 6'0", 200 lbs This late, could be anyone, but during the East/West Shrine game Hamilton showed off some unbelievable hands and speed to go deep. Samford has been pumping out some good talent the past couple years, Michael Pierce for example, and I can see Hamilton carving out a role in the NFL. Main thing is though, guy has a top tier set of hands and I'd love to have this guy, for a team that for whatever reason loves to take guys with lots of speed and questionable hands - every freaking time - it'd be nice to have a guy with a set of reliable hands, and the guy even has the speed we always want so it wouldn't be much of a departure.

i will say without question that i think jimmy smith a better cover guy than any of them, i think ive seen each of those guys get toasted in very limited watches(ill watch maybe 3 or 4 games from them per season) more than i see from jimmy in all of his games. ive seen sherman get beaten deep many many times, i dont see talib get beat very much at all but his utter ignorance separates them, norman is pretty scheme locked but he doesnt get beaten much, peters is a feast-or-famine guy who loses far more than jimmy, peterson is an exceptional athlete but he gets beaten by the elite route runners whereas jimmy shuts down AB almost every time he plays him. i honestly feel like if jimmy smith was given 3 fully healthy seasons where he wasnt rehabbing all year and playing out of shape, he would be the best cover corner in the league during that span. he would have the lowest target, completion, YPA, and passer rating-against numbers league wide, he does it year after year while playing at far less than 100%. its really a shame he cant stay healthy.

Yeah, I've never bought into the "Flacco is elite" argument. He's good enough to win a Super bowl if he has a good team around him. I mean, what's wrong with that? Don't you have to have a good team to make the SB anyway? He's not elite, he's above average. He does enough to win, and he's won the big dance before and has come close to getting there multiple times, where he is rarely the reason we fail. He's not Mark Sanchez like his haters want him to be. He's not elite, but very few QBs are. Rodgers, Brady, this year Matt Ryan and Carr. But if you put a good situation around Flacco, the team is gonna be successful. This year, we didn't have a running game, and the defense fell off at the end of the year because we don't have good pass rushers. Tell me, how is that Flacco's fault? Don't give me the money thing, we've invested a lot of money in Suggs(a future hall of famer) and Dumervil, who was a damn good pass rusher in his prime. It's because they got old!!! Jimmy going down doesn't help out either. As for the running game, it got better, but if you really watched it, the oline wasn't fantastic and Marty wasn't really one to call a lot of running plays(which is once again, not on Flacco). Flacco had one truly horrid game this last year, and that was vs. the Jets. He wasn't great the first half of the season, but outside of the Eagles game, he was actually a lot better the second half of the season. He wasn't the reason we missed the playoffs at all. In fact, and I know econ is gonna bring up the stats here, he played well enough vs. Pittsburgh to win. Our WRs dropped a few TD's vs them that were gimmies. We lost to Pittsburght because 1. No pass rush(we were blitzing every down on the last drive so don't even try to put this on Pees), 2. Bad corner depth, Tavon Young and Jimmy are good, but Powers and Wright are not. Sorry dude. We had no choice but to pay Flacco. Arizona would've paid just as much, and we'd probably be even worse off right now. It's hard to find a QB in the league who can win you a SB. Flacco has done it. Get over it, he's here to stay.

I have always been a "Flacco Homer" and i have never thought that about Joe. I know what Joe is and have stated it numerous times, yet somehow im biased, a homer, an apologist, etc.... Im guessing the "harassment" you received was people explaining to you market value which 4 years later you still dont understand. To say that fans dont care about the team as a whole, i dont know how you come to that conclusion, at all. Everyone here is Ravens fans but just because some of us dont want to cut, trade, or tell Joe to be the waterboy means we dont care about the team as a whole? It's honestly like you just make stuff up

Ugh. Fine. Want something done right you better do it yourself. 1. This is why fans don't run NFL teams. That decision would have run us into the ground and instead of us being a "losing" organization(which is more attributable for us not retaining certain players and/or certain players getting older) we'd be trash. That off-season there was the worst QB class in recent memory. your choices were EJ Manuel(who sucks) Geno Smith(who sucks) mike Glennon(good backup. Not a starter though) Tyler Wilson(who's out of the league. Because he sucked) the draft after, we could've taken Mariota(who's probably going to be injury prone in the future even though he's pretty good) Winston(who we probably wouldn't have considered due to character concerns) Derek Carr(only QB on here who's not only great, but the only one I'd honestly take over Flacco). You clearly have no understanding of how difficult it is to find a franchise QB. At all. 2. Okay ravensECONbeast let's talk the economics of the NFL for a second and allow me to teach you something. Economics is predicated around supply and demand. The supply of QBs who have won a sb in the league is very low(Roethlisberger, Rodgers, Wilson, Brees, Flacco, Manning, Brady) Flacco has proven he can do it, and he was the catalyst for it. Even if his supporting cast was good during the run, a good supporting cast can be put to waste by a truly lousy QB. See. Brock Oswilier, and all the Arizona QBs post warner and pre Palmer. Yet, the demand is high. We have 31(except the browns since they seem to be content with sucking) teams who want someone who can do what Flacco has done. That's why idiots like Colin Kaepernick, Jay Cutler and Brock Osiwiler got paid as much as they did. Had we let him go, he could've gone to a team that was a QB away from being very good, say the Arizona cardinals, and turned them into a better organization than they had been over the past 5 years. Or the Houston Texans. Hell, even coming off an injury, if Flacco is on THIS YEARS Texans team, with Hopkins, Fuller, CJ, and Lamar Miller, and a very good defense, we might be talking about them in the SB right now. And mind you, half of the fan base stood with you. Fans had no influence on this decision. Letting him go would've been a death sentence for us as a franchise. We had no choice but to keep him. Just. Smh

I've been a big proponent of Toth for a long time now and based off of most mocks and everything else out there he's projected (like Jay Guillermo) to be a later round pick somewhere around 4-6. If I can wait until the 5th to get him I would call that a great deal. That would be a steal at that point

Lolwut. The day the fans in this franchise get any power is the day that I will drive myself to the brink of insanity and have my girlfriend string me up like a heavy bag and beat me to death with her bare hands. You're blaming us now? Have you really run out of ideas? LMAO! I quit.....

Just watched the tape of Charles Harris vs Vandy again. Man I would love him at 16. I hated on him before but I've done a complete 180 on him and I'm 95 percent sure he'll be there at 16. Would be even more amazing if we can get in in the 2nd but I doubt that will happen.

According to DeCosta the Ravens are looking for: "I think we're looking for a guy that can catch the ball, move the chains and get critical first downs when needed." He added that he wanted someone that could line up all over the field, similar to how SSS did. Aside from the top couple of guys, Zay Jones and Evan Engram seem to perfectly fit what the Ravens want.

Man, I have to ask, what is with the spelling? Well there's a certain reason that Rodgers has had better years than Joe's, Aaron Rodgers is a better QB than Joe Flacco is, plain and simple. The difference between you and I is that I know what Joe is and what he wont be AND am ok with that, its that easy for me. He is the exact opposite of Peyton Manning who seemed to always choke in playoffs while Joe has elevated his play in the post-season. If your going to compare the two, it would be fair to bring up that Rodgers sat behind one of the best QBs in NFL history, now I don't know how much that matters but its worth mentioning. And all this about comparing the two, Rodgers has him beat in every category yet they have the same amount of SB wins. The thing with how much QBs are paid, like I have stated before, is determined by what the team is willing to pay, hence market value. Brock Osweiler is a perfect example, it isn't based on JUST performance, hence why Brock got paid and yet is hilarious to watch throwing a football, the Texans would have beat the Pats if they had almost any other QB in the league. I bet you weren't complaining when Joe was on his rookie contract. Every year there is 31 teams that make mistakes and the fans will think the sky is falling, as this team does even when we win, just not by enough. Mistakes are part of the game, we have two SB in twenty years, a lot better than most franchises. While I am not content with that because obviously I want to keep winning, but acting like the FO has no idea what its doing is just absurd because we don't have a QB that throws for 5k yards, 40Tds and makes 10mill a year.

Don't know how much many of you know of BW. My fiancee works with kids with developmental disabilities and every time they ask for someone to visit kids, help with fundraising etc... who has been the Ravens to show for the last few years? Brandon and Crocket Gilmore. His camaraderie in the locker room that has been shared on many tweets shows just how much he is loved. He is willing to take a reasonable discount just to keep his kid in school here. AND he is the best nose tackle in the league, which, of course, is the most important. The days of letting our quality players go because we could find gold in dog doo no longer exists. Next man up is a great strategy if you have the cap space to load your roster with next men, we don't. Accumulating a billion draft picks by letting skilled players walk is now a failed strategy (which Ozzie showed last year by going out on the first days of free agency and snatching up quality free agents.) We will get just one comp pick for KO this year and we really tried everything to keep him but you can't pay a guard left tackle money unless you have a rookie QB making just 4 mil a year. We don't have that. Anyone who thinks we will just be fine letting quality players walk, getting comp picks and hoping the next man up will be good enough needs to reread the first paragraph. That strategy worked great but is now obsolete and defunct in todays NFL.

Imagine that! 9th ranked Oline and all the "apologists" did was blame the Oline for Flacco's ineptitude. Many a QB could take a 9th ranked Oline deep into the playoffs I just get tired of hearing"Joe needs this, Joe needs that" I guess we need 10 starting first team pro bowl players on offense around Flacco to make the playoff. Its 9th ranked by PFF... who, while are very valuable for individual player ratings, seem to vary wildly on the OL ratings as a whole. Yes, #9 ranked, but we never ran the ball so their terrible run blocking didnt bring their grade down as much as it should have. And, i believe the #9 ranking is the rating of the 5 starters together - so Stanley, Lewis, Zuttah, Yanda, Wagner.... who played a sum total of 4 games together. 4 wins by the way. So, actually, yes. thanks for pointing it out - with a #9 ranked OL Flacco does win. It's when you have to put out 8 different starting OL combos in the other 12 games with guys like Hurst at tackle, they struggle. And not just Joe, the run game as well. The 9th ranking is for the season. It ranks in game performance as a unit over 16 games. This was not a ranking based on potential of the "starting 5" Oline men as you erroneously stated. Flacco can't win without superstars around him. There's no doubt about this. It's already been established.

As long as we draft a player who can make solid contributions his first year, I don't care who we get. Personally though, I think we should make our Offensive line like Dallas did and try to make life easier on Joe.
  29. 3 points
RR, Pitta and Matt Birk all top 10. Others like Flacco, Boldin and McKinnie had great post seasons as individuals and contributed big time with "star like" performances. Don't think you could say it was game planning that put them over the top.
  30. 3 points
I think you could put Rice in the top 5 of RBs that year, 1600 total yards and 10TDs. Im just fine with role players actually, id rather be well rounded than dependent on a single super-star

It's a fair point for sure. He hasn't been as healthy as any of us would like. But... while most who know the game will recognize Jimmy as a very good #1, he is not recognized even largely by our own fan base for how good he is. When on the field he has consistently been a Top 5 CB. Hes avoided regularly... and when tested receivers catch passes at a near League worst rate for THE least amount of yards. Basically receivers in Jimmys coverage are the least productive in the NFL compared to pretty much every other CB. Ultimately that's the corners job - to not allow his receiver to produce. It's not about INTs (though they're nice), and you don't have to tip the pass away -- if your guy isn't catching the ball, and when he does it's for minimal gains then that's all that matters. This shows Jimmy is on par with, if not better than, the Peterson's, Sherman's, Talib's, Peters', Norman's, etc... of the world. Not that he or I need the validation... but for all the attention and fanfare those guys get Jimmy Smith is CRIMINALLY underrated both nationally and by many in this fan base. Dude is elite. Top 3-5 CB in the NFL and at least work is being done now to illuminate that fact.

Its offseason, and we comment and speculate, and complain, but to do something different and fun, I have dubbed this thread, The Player Game. The way it works, is name your Player, if this player was smart, he would ________and fill in the blank, as to what he should do in the Off Season to get better. So I will give you an example. If Correa was smart, he would work on his pass rushing skills or work on setting the edge better this off season to get better, and get on the field more. Have fun with it, maybe it will shed some light on stuff we are seeing.

Id say they want more Maulers. More in the mold of the JO,Yanda,KO lineage. Just mean man on man maulers 320-350lb monster road graders. Moton OT is a perfect choice 6-5 330lb monster orobably 3rd rndr. Nico Siragusa, Jay Guillermo OG/C, Dorian Johnson, all 315 to 330 plus OG 6'3 and up So Ravens will have plenty of big Maulers to choose from and now that it looks like a they will getting back to their roots with run game and defense as jobs are on the line. I expect Big boys and a vastly improved oline

U WONT GET 1000 yards

So basically, just draft a bunch of offensive players, pray that they play well, and don't worry about the defense at all? I mean there's no question that heading into 2015 the defense was a bigger problem than the offense (frankly had been for a couple years, dating back to the SB), so in the 2014 draft you would have snagged two WRs and a RB, while not addressing the defense at all? Outstanding. Seems like a good recipe to lose every game 38-35. Ask the Atlanta Falcons. They proved how that model doesn't work. They've had a high powered offense for years. When they started focusing on getting younger and more athletic on defense and beefing up the offensive line, they became a good football team. This isn't rocket science folks. The good teams are largely balanced. These high powered offenses that neglect the defense struggle to win football games on an annual basis.

I like Torrey as a person but don't want him back as a receiver. We should either keep Wallace or get Marshall. But your point is a good one. Constant change at nearly every position does not help build continuity. Keeping Wallace would be preferred.

Inability to get a yard when you really need it is a hallmark of the West Coast Offense and the Zone Blocking Scheme. The former doesn't typically commit to the run, and will more likely rely on a quick pass - it has been a hallmark of the Andy Reid offenses, which Harbs is most familiar with. I'm generally a fan of zone blocking in the right scheme, but it is a very reactive, east-west approach: O-lineman steps in a direction, and doesn't really know who he is going to block until the defense slants, bulls, or stunts. Our offense is a hybrid of West Coast and Zone Blocking. That yard will continue to be hard to come by. That's why we need a bigger center. When in doubt, QB sneak and pray.

I genuinely don't think I could hate the "Ozzie loves his 'Bama players!" argument any more than I do. It's always used to justify us taking any Alabama player when in reality over the past 6 years we've only taken 3 total, and compare that to their utter dominance in college FB in recent history that is pretty damn low. I hate that that's always the only argument given, not "he's the best player on the board" or anything, just they're a Bama player so the chances that Ozzie taking them suddenly goes up by at least 200%. I just saw Walterfootball give us Cam Robinson and give that explanation. I think of all the picks that I see get mocked to us, Robinson is by far my least favorite, and not just because I think we'd be fools to let Wagner walk, I just don't like Robinson as a player in general. Then the rest of the mock isn't any better for us, it's Cam Robinson - Carroll Phillips - Chris Godwin - Dalvin Tomlinson, honestly this is my least favorite realistic draft that I've seen in quite some time. No CB/S in the first 4 rounds, I can't see Phillips as BPA in the second over some guys still on the board, just not much a fan of Godwin to begin with, I don't mind Tomlinson but I think DT is kind of an overrated need, not as pressing as some make it out to be considering we're getting Carl Davis and Willie Henry back next year - sure both are pretty much unproven but they've both got tons of potential and haven't gotten much of a chance yet.

Here we go Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun believes the Ravens "would at least inquire" about Brandon Marshall if he becomes a free agent. Marshall is owed a reasonable $7.5 million in the final year of his deal, but the Jets can save all of that against the cap if they release him. Considering he has seemingly worn out his welcome in the locker room and is clearly on the downside of his career, it would not be surprising if they move on. Marshall would fit right in with Derrick Mason and Steve Smith Sr. as veteran receivers the Ravens have added at the tail-end of their careers, and he would offer a good possession presence opposite Mike Wallace or Breshad Perriman. If Marshall is cut, the Ravens should be one of the favorites to land him. Source: Baltimore Sun

Lol...Waller has brick for hands, Wallace is a one trick pony when he's not pouting (or taking himself out of the game), Perriman & Moore still have a lot to learn. They're not exactly Bell/Brown, AJ Green/Eifert, Julio/Freeman and aren't keeping DCs up at night. Marshall is still under contract so banking on him getting cut to fix your offense is not very smart. Just think though, if the Ravens hired someone with your knowledge & expertise, they wouldn't need incompetent people like Harbaugh, Ozzie, etc.

These posts are just too much with all the intentional misspellings and such. They were kinda amusing at first, but old and stale now.

If I were Dean Pees I would rewatch all tape of the way our D got abused in the 4th quarter and quit playing so much prevent D

I could argue both sides. On the one hand, the whole WR/TE core could be in for a major overhaul. Pitta's price tag is a bit high (though not sure what we can do about that), and Steve Smith is gone. We've got some young guys that we drafted and are invested in (namely Perriman), so it may be time to take the kid gloves off and throw him to the wolves. Regardless, it appears likely we add a complementary receiver via FA or the draft, and Perriman will be a big piece of our offensive plan, so the idea of "consistency" from a pass catching standpoint is largely going to be shot at the WR position anyway. Maybe he gets Wallace back, maybe he doesn't. Maybe he gets Pitta back, maybe he doesn't. But I don't see consistency being that likelihood from a pass catching standpoint in 2017, and I don't think it should be either. I think its time to regroup with that whole unit, because I wasn't impressed by basically anything that group did last season.

There are now three camps of fans. The pragmatic ones, the sky is falling ones and a group that is somewhere in the middle because they understand the situation, but question some moves made by the FO and Harbs. First off, KO was being offered the most money in the league to play guard at $8.5 million a year, but I still think it was unclear whether that was to play LT or LG. I think it was LG, but that isn't important. KO got paid top 3 LT money. I think Ozzie could have tried to give a rebuttal offer of 10 a year, but KO seen that green and went running. We have been so pampered over the past decade and a Half because Ozzie had consistently either hit home runs on early picks that became legends like Lewis, JO, Reed, Suggs, Ngata, McAllister, RR, etc. But now we have had a few rough drafts where talent hasn't stuck and the fans now act as if we were the Browns. Be patient. One more very good draft like 16' and active FA period could easily make us a +10 win team. Flacco's development is discouraging and I don't think he is worth his contract, but the going rate for any half way competent QB is roughly $20 million a year and that was what Flacco got. Ozzie just likes kicking the can down the road though where he makes the deals cheap up front then back loads the deal where he expects restructures/cuts, but all that does is it gives us a boat load of dead cap space. That is why I pray he keeps Mosley's contract and others at consistent hits instead of ending up in cap hell. Exactly

Only thing with Marshall is that he's been on 3 teams since then (soon to be 4 if he does get cut) and has thoroughly worn out his welcome in each city. It's not like the Dolphins owner is bemoaning the tough decision to let him go 4+ years later like Bisciotti is. The Ravens have great locker room chemistry. Is that still the case when a documented locker room cancer rolls into town? Plus, Zrebiec is just straight-up guessing. It's a good guess, no doubt, but, man, I miss Aaron Wilson. That guy had some legit sources and did his homework. No offense to Zrebiec, but his analysis and reporting is run-of-the-mill stuff.

If he makes the final roster I'm buying his jersey. Just for the hell of it.
