Is there anyway to trick Joe into thinking every month is January?

Loss of games is the number one reason we are not in the playoffs.

Not to mention how easy our path to the AFCG wouldve been had we beat Pittsburgh and ended up the #3 seed. 1) Miami at home 2) Oakland ...both without starting qbs. That would've almost guaranteed us a chance against new England or KC for a trip to Houston. Makes me sick. Now Pittsburgh has that path. We were so close. Just wasn't meant to be.

i wanna point out what our record would be if flacco hadnt been constantly let down by his teammates: perriman not getting his foot down on that perfect back shoulder fade vs the skins: 9-7 chris moore dropping an obvious td pass that hit him clean in his hands, in stride, for an easy catch: 10-6 the 2 definite tds dropped vs pitt, and the possible but iffy one to BP, and pittas inexcusable out of bounds catch inside the 5: 11-5 were welcoming miami back to the bank tomorrow if flacco isnt once again let down over and over and over by his receivers. and hell, idk about the tiebreakers and seeding and all, but maybe we go into week 17 looking to lock up the 2 seed if possible if the tiebreakers allow it and beat the bengals and we are looking at a bye this week. sure though, lets blame flacco. hes done enough to get us there time and time again, just like when owen daniels dropped a game sealing TD right in his hands vs NE in 2014. just like lee evans did the same to send us to the super bowl. just like anquan boldin did the year prior in pittsburgh. it is ABSURD how close he has come to being in 1 more super bowl, and 2 more AFC championships where we wouldve faced the sanchize at home and a horrible colts team and likely won both. Flacco made all of those happen while his receivers screw him over time and time again.

We had a running game, we had it all year. We just didn't utilize it to it's fullest.

Look I am a Flacco fan, but an appreciation thread after this season I think is a little much. Also, he isn't going anywhere so why appreciate something that's going to remain here for the foreseeable future right now. Unless you know something I don't....

I think this is my favorite part of anyone's post. 1. Call Dalton better than Flacco 2. Say Flacco needs a great o-line, stud running game, stud WRs, and an effective defense to succeed 3. Fully ignore the fact that Dalton has had all that practically his whole career

Webb finished with the fifth best coverage grade over the second half of the season and Weddle was PFF's top ranked safety, but let's get it for an overrated corner who is all name. Makes sense.

It actually hurts reading this... did you literally just say they've had our number? We lost to them for the first time in like 3 years - that's their second win vs us since 2013 or something...

Did you watch Bell at Michigan State? This was all on the Steelers for player development.

All a matter of perspective and expectations. I would say that, typically, a team that wins 5 games would be happy to win 8 games the next season, because its pretty hard to go from being a 5 win team to being a 10-12 win team in a single offseason. However, that's mostly based on preseason expectations. Based on what we saw on the field throughout the year, we definitely left something to be desired. Too many games that we lost where we had a great opportunity to win, especially against teams that I didn't feel were as good as us (namely Redskins and Jets). In the end, we beat some other average to below average teams, but struggled against the better teams in the league. So if you take the season in a vacuum compared to last season, some significant improvements in some much needed improvement areas, and obviously a better record. But we could have been better, given our personnel. We were never SB level, but in a down year for the AFC, we could have won a playoff game or maybe two.

Coaching and a misuse of the talent on offense.

Webb is catching too much flack here, he played very well down the stretch and he was a damn good tackler.

I've thought he was the perfect WR for Joe for a couple years now. Hes like a longer, more athletic Boldin. Not as tough but better after the catch and a larger catch radius. He finds soft spaces in zones, uses his big frame to box out defenders... he can go up and get it.. he's a smooth route runner. And bc of his age he won't break the bank. He's got 2-3 good years left in him, so as he declines Perriman should be taking off. His game complements Wallace's and Perrimans perfectly. Hope he's the type of complimentary WR Ozzie was talking about. And since the Jets are gonna cut him anyways... throw them a 7th rd pick in 2018 that can become a 6th based on performance.... so you don't have to bid against anyone else in FA.

1,000% agree as someone who has seen the stark contrast in surrounding circumstances between Joe and Andy by virtue of watching every game they've both played. Without a doubt Dalton held them back, he had one good season and got hurt throwing an awful pick on a screen pass. The windows he gets, the WR separation, the YAC, the protection, the supporting run game, are all night and day to what Flacco has. The degree of difficulty on the throws they are asked to make is night and day, we see this every Ravens Bengals game, just watch the difference, how hard it is for Joe and how easy it is for Dalton. Jaws pointed this out when defending Flacco, we ask him to make more difficult throws on a more consistent basis, stats do not reflect this in the manner in which we relate stats to an 'elite' QB. Bengal fans have become accustomed to such great o line play and wr talent they were acting like they had the league worst WRs and O line this year, I had to point out once again the Ravens o line was ranked worse. Dalton literally did nothing half his games, threw the ball away because he can't make difficult throws and can't make it happen without elite WR talent. Dalton is not a better QB and if you think this you do not understand football.

I wasn't referring to the Steelers game just so you know. I was referring to his entire body of work since 2011. And yes I know he was instrumental in winning us a SB in 2012. They make other team's games very hard to watch for me. It's like touchdown-commercial-extra point-commercial-kick off-commercial. It's incredibly annoying and makes me honestly lose interest.

Ignoring how you seem to not realize Weddle was one of the top rated safeties in the NFL you are forgetting how cap savings work. If you have to pay a new player to take someone's spot you aren't really saving money and since you would be cutting safeties to sign a corner (and a corner who is basically getting by on reputation alone at this point) so you have to pay money to buy new safeties thus making the cut pointless.

Not all edge rushers need to have great bend to be successful. Like I said I wouldn't use him much outside yet but inside nobody is going to block him. He's too fast and too strong for gaurds to handle. He's a great character and worker and remember he's still a red shirt sophomore. Plus I'm not sure what to think of jernigan anymore....i almost forgot he was on the team the second half of this season

Joe never made excuses for his less then good performances during last season. I truly believe that Mr Biscotti hit the nail on the head. There is no way Joe could have been 100% and I look forward to a better next season for Joe and our Ravens.

Please no more CB's from the 3rd to the 7th Round. Only 2 have worked in the last 14 Drafts, Webb and Young.

If Boyle was smart, he'd keep himself clean so he's available next season. If Pitta was smart, he'd learn how to block before Boyle or someone else takes his job.

Flacco is essentially Kerry Collins playing in a different era of football. Nothing wrong with it, you can win with a Kerry Collins as seen by his many years of playing decently well on decent teams. However he needs helps to get there as he'll inexplicably crap the bed some weeks. It is what it is, he's not elite, never has been, he's also not trash, never has been. He's like an 8-12 range QB depending on his year. Its foolish to think he's actually worth the contract he got and its foolish to think you can just find a QB that wins as often as Flacco in any draft. I don't know his contract particulars for dead money but I'd be looking long and hard at him in 2 years when he's 35.

I actually see the a lot of Julio in Perriman. Problem is Perriman was less polished out of college and got hurt right away. I think in a year or two he will break out. Obviously we cannot count on him being as good as Julio, but I do think those splash plays he made were a sign of things to come. Need a guy to develop him more. Also watching Tevin Coleman yesterday reminds me a lot of Kenneth Dixon. Except I think Dixon is harder to bring to the ground. Ravens need to get him going. Hopefully this Roman signing is a sign the Ravens will actually give Flacco some help with the run game.

If Webb was smart, he'd renegotiate a more cap-friendly deal to help both sides. If Perriman and Moore were smart, they'd spend a LOT of times on the JUGS machine and workng out with Flacco to get their timing If Flacco was smart, he would spend time gaining chemistry with receivers and focusing on his fundamentals; footwork, etc. If Lewis was smart, he'd watch a lot of tape of Yanda and learn how to become a dominant guard. If West and Dixon were smart, they'd work their butts off this offseason to prove they deserve more carries (since it's pretty much been said that we want to bring in another running back) If Reynolds was smart, he should spend a lot of time fielding punts and kickoffs to show he is ready to be a returner next year. IF Waller was smart, he'd work on his blocking and watching tape of premier TEs to learn intricacies of running better routes, etc.

Flacco needs to take a pay cut. There's no way he or anyone can justify his cap hit being 10 million MORE than Tom Brady's in 2017. Free up some money so your team can help get you a better O Lineman and receiver.

we had the number 1 defense for the majority of the season, dont even try to pin it on them entirely, they blew the opportunity to cement themselves as the best defense in the league to get us in the playoffs, but they are the reason we were even in contention to begin with, without the defense we may be looking at a season even worse than 2015. early on, we had injuries, and an absolute nuthouse for a coaching staff. lord knows what the hell trestman was thinking, and marty did better but was far from what we needed. trestman deserved a good bit of blame for our early losses, harbaugh can be given a fair bit of blame for some losses, specifically oakland and any other game where we went for it on 4th down in field goal range repeatedly and failed. we had james worst starting at LT for a few weeks, we had a rookie 4th round LG starting at LT for a few weeks, our center was playing injured most of the year, our top 2 edge rushers played through season ending injuries, the cb that our defense is built on missed a considerable chunk of time(and no coincidence we got absoluely torched when he was out), our top receiver missed a few weeks, we had justin forsett for the first few weeks playing dismally and west hadnt gotten the reps to heat up, dixon was supposed to be our top back but was injured to start the season, our 3rd wr was injured and playing his first nfl reps, our qb was coming off of a torn ACL and had absolutely no time to drop back and pass and still led the league in pass attempts, we had things just really not go our way like mosley fumbling a foot away from the endzone for a touchback. i mean seriously, it was an absolute disaster of a season and we managed to fall 1 game short of the playoffs and it appears that we really started to discover our problems and began to solve them, we got healthy on the line and kept together 1 unit for a month and they played well, we saw tons of promise from our future run game with dixon looking like a manchild out there, mike wallace has cemented himself as a legit option for us moving forward, breshad perriman showed flashes of why we drafted him and did so with limited opportunities and a laundry list of obstacles, ronnie stanley is a future pro bowl LT, joe flacco heated the hell up towards the end of the year and once again proved that he is an excellent qb when he isnt trying to throw while laying on the turf, matt judon and tavon young are studs and 2 of the biggest draft steals and fixtures on our defense moving forward, we have solved our safety problem for now, i think dean pees has proven(although many will say otherwise, disregarding that shareece wright and jerraud powers were our 2 and 3 at the end of the year) that he really could be the man for the job and that he and leslie frazier are a formidable duo, cj mosley and zach orr might be the best ILB tandem in the league. we have a LOT of reasons to feel optimistic moving forward, this season had the makings of an absolute disaster and we nearly pulled it off in the end. When it was all said and done, the 4 game slide(which happened largely due to bonehead calls, extremely unlucky plays, and injuries) and the injury of jimmy smith buried us and it was just too much to overcome for a team that honestly shouldnt have been that close to the playoffs to begin with. we overachieved based on the misfortune we faced all year, and we will be back.

Lack of a pass rush. Too many teams administered game winning drives against us because of it.

See my post above. I dont get this "better fit" than Wallace stuff. It may not seem like it on the surface or whatever, but the #'s dont lie. Wallace was among the most efficiently productive WR's in the league. Meaning he did more, with less touches, than all but maybe 1 other receiver. His YAC was very high up there... top 10ish. Thats what you want in a WCO. He caught for 1st downs at a high rate. Thats what you want. He caught a high percentage of his throws. Thats what you want. Even if he takes a step back -- you are going to find it near impossible to replace his production with anyone on the market, period. Let alone for similar money. You need to add a guy as is to replace SSS. So add a guy. But why cut Wallace to HOPE you can equal his production; and STILL have to replace SSS production. Cut Wallace to get Marshall, Garcon or Britt. You still need a #2 or #3 guy then; and to go get a Wright or another mid-tier #2 type guy... you're going to spend Wallace money to get less than wallace production. Increasing the overall spend for overall less production. Why does it always have to be subtract to add??? Why cant we just add to add? We know Wallace produces in this offense. We need to keep the weapons Joe likes....

There will no excuses in losing to teams we should beat. Biscotii is probably grinding his teeth at the thought the we lost to the Redskins at home, and to the Jets at New York, both are games we should have won. Maybe losing to the Redskins has some meaning considering the replacement at OC, but Trestman's days were numbered anyways. If you can't pull out the win vs Washington than beat the Bengals week 17 and make the postseason. I think this season will be a no-excuse season for Harbaugh unless we have another injury plagued year.

Kruger-situational pass rusher only, nothing else Upshaw- average ILB or system player Torrey- would not fight even if someone steals his lunch money. McPhee-another systematic guy and injury away from retirement. KO- asking too much money and only teams that won't spend anything or cheap for past decade can afford it, so he asked for LT money to play for the LG...what a rip off..... I don't see any problem you are listing but more like positive takeaways... Kruger: do we have anyone else that can be a situational passrusher.. id take kruger over ZADARIUS OR JUDON OR MCCLELAN Upshaw: best edge setter since JOHNSON.. why get rid of him torrey: Since he left.. flacco has gone deep barely once a game... WE NEEDED HIM McPhee: injuries this injuries that... he was starting to become what we needed then got rid of him... pathetic KO: sometimes you just have to pay people... simple as that. we paid yanda how many times? why because hes the best we got. The Ravens offered Torrey a contract. He took the Niners offer of MORE MONEY. Offered KO a contract, he took the Raiders offer of MORE MONEY. McPhee and Kruger wanted to test the FA Market to see how much MORE MONEY they could get. Do you see a trend here? You can't play a good player great player money. The Raiders had the money to offer KO simply because they have not had to address breaking the bank with Carr and the QB position.....for now. Oz low balled KO- google it- KO was offended by it, and no way he was going to come play for the Ravens. Just like Oz tried to lowball Anquan on the last year of his contract, and see what happened after we lost Anquan- we only made it to the playoffs once since he and Torrey left. Bad Oz, bad Oz So because we've lost an aging possesion reciever and a questionable #2 WR who wanted #1 money, that's the reason we can't make the play-offs? Maybe we should give you a crack at GM... And have googled KO...Ozzie offered him a little over market value, Raiders way over paid him. They'll be begging him to restructure his contract in the next year or so when Carr, Mack, ect. start coming into their pay-days...

I think, if I can read this right, his percentage was up but the ave YPC is way down, so he threw more but only real short passes. That's why his percentage is up. If you shoot more layups than 3 pointers, ur percentage is gonna be higher.

If BWill was smart - He'd take a hometown discount. Really though... If Moore was smart - he'd hit the juggs machine everyday this off season.
