Joe Flacco: 12th most sacked QB, sacked 14 times, 5 TD's, 6 INT's, 75.4 QBR Andrew Luck: 1st most sacked QB, sacked 25 times, 14 TD's, 4 INT's, 98.3 QBR Matt Ryan: Tied for 3rd most sacked QB, sacked 18 times, 16 TD's, 4 INT's, 113.6 QBR Matthew Stafford: Tied for 3rd most sacked QB, sacked 18 times, 15 TD's, 4 INT's, 105.7 QBR Philip Rivers: 6th most sacked QB, Sacked 17 times, 13 TD'S, 4 INT's, 102.4 QBR Facts: - Joe Flacco has the 29th worst QBR in the NFL - Andrew Luck has been sacked NEARLY TWICE as much as Joe Flacco yet is dominating him in every statistical category, Colts have what many feel is worst OL in football - Only other QB's besides Flacco in entire NFL with negative TD-INT ratio are Case Keenum and Ryan Fitzpatrick Enough excuses for Joe, I'm a long time supporter of his even through rough patches but this is different. This year so far he's not elite... not average... not even below average, he's amongst the very worst starting QB's in the entire NFL. Everything from his mechanics, to his accuracy, to his overall passing stats tell us so. Guys like Rivers have comparable weapons/OL and are blowing him out of the water.

Duane Starks: Starks responding to a question about making a change at quarterback because Flacco was taking a beating behind a porous offensive line - “Beating or no beating, I’d pull [Flacco] out of the game. The honest truth is he lost the game for the Ravens. That is the way I look at it. He gave up ten points [off of his interceptions]... And Flacco did not claim it, when they asked about the interception to Perriman, he said it was a timing pass. No, it was a bad pass in a one-on-one situation. Claim it. Don't say ‘we’, it was you today!” Jackson followed Starks by saying - “[Flacco] has to play better, he is the quarterback, he is the franchise. They paid him a bunch of money, and that is fine....but when you come out in the second half and only have 43 yards of total offense in the second half, 2.5 yards per pass completion, 2 of 8 on third down. [He] is the quarterback, he is the engine, everybody is looking at him and he is not getting it done.” http://www.baltimorebeatdown.com/2016/10/24/13380522/icymi-former-ravens-duane-starks-and-brad-jackson-rip-joe-flacco

no, the QB is on my team as well. I payed for him to have surgery and all his bones were replaced with titanium rods. His muscles are all wrapped in a proprietary carbon fiber / kevlar composite. He will never injure a muscle or break a bone. So, no the starting QB will never go down. and no you can not tour the facility where my team practices.

They do matter... If you're into fantasy football. Which has honestly ruined the game for fans. It's easy to win a fantasy league nowadays because people don't consider certain things. I'm sorry. Andy Dalton, has posted pretty good stats over the past few years with supporting casts that have been all around greater than Joe. Yet, he can't win big games, and hasn't had half of the success as Flacco has had. Let's look at Matt Stafford. Brilliant fantasy QB, has messed up in the big games? Tony Romo usually posts good stats, yet he can't stay healthy and has choked in bigger moments than Flacco EVER has. Sorry. Flacco has the it factor. He shows up for big games(namely the playoffs), and has performed well in the big moment(which I understand why it's infuriating. We all know he can play at a really high level, we've seen him do it throughout multiple playoff appearances). Give me as many mediocre regular season games as you want. Where we still win, and make the playoffs, and if we have the chance for a SB(which we usually do), and he plays well in the playoffs(which he usually does), then I don't give a damn if he threw only 3000 yards and 15 TDs. Flacco has been horrible this year. But the fact is you've been down on him for years, and he's proven you wrong time, and time again. Won you a damn super bowl(and yes. He gets most of the credit for that one. Sorry) You must be enjoying this year because he is actually playing poorly, yet we can still make the postseason where both of us know, he earns that fat old contract of his since.. Well... HE HISTORICALLY PLAYS WELL THERE. Smh. If Flacco wins us another Super bowl, which is very possible given how good the young talent on the team looks, then he will have earned every penny of that contract. Sorry. That's what his job is. "But we could save a crap ton of money." Fine, let him go to Chicago, where he'll have an elite nfl WR to throw to, an offensive line that has played well, a good rookie RB, and a defense that could be on the rise who will likely get a high draft selection. Or let him go to the Texans, who have good WRs, a very good defense a good offensive line, and a pretty good RB in Lamar Miller. Suddenly that team becomes a contender even if he's "meh" during the regular season. Sorry dude, and other Flacco haters. HE'S STAYING. You can protest all you freaking want. None of you have an impact on this decision in any way, shape, or form. Say it with me: @flynismo and @The Raven. I'm glad the fans

Surely if we tag him he gets paid like a left tackle and that's a terrible deal

I don't want him with our first at this time. I wouldn't mind later but I doubt he'll be around. Not the best fit

i disagree - yes depth is helpful but we're missing game breakers, playmakers and stars

I think they are afraid of taking players with any issues. I also think that Harbaugh has significant input in it. Will Hill is the last player we know that had significant personal issues, but he was on the roster before the Ray Rice incident that started the whole thing. Waller is the only player on our roster now as far as I can tell whom issue might have been known prior to being drafted. Boyle's issue appear to have beeen as much a surprise to us as it was to them. Why do I think Hatbaugh has significant input? Because he is all about choir boys. There were several reports that as soon the Ray Rice case broke he suggested releasing Ray Rice even before the investigation was complete, and way before the elevator images came to light. Torrey Smith was the ultimate choir boy, and Harbaugh spoke of shedding tears just reading reading about Torrey. Bernard Pierce was released after one incident of DUI within 24 hrs. Not to mention the release of Bernard Pollard for no apparent reason. As I was watching the Atlanta game I couldn't help but notice how many studs they have on that team. They seemed so much faster and more physical than us. SMH! We used to be the most physical team on this planet. Ray Lewis was unanimously considered the most feared NFL player.

Well at least one thing is established with this thread. Just going by the total number of responses, Joe Flacco is a lightning rod for differing opinions which makes him interesting and controversial. Its all good fodder for conversation and debate, but the fact is Joe Flacco is not spending a minute of his time worried about anything we discuss here. His focus right now is chilling and playing with his 4 lovely children!

Coaching , Coaching, coaching, it takes coordinators with a solid foundation and the ability to coach players up to excel in the NFL. I know we are stuck with our staff at this point, but i personally love the Roman hire, he is 10x the play caller than Mwig is, no maybe we can hire a co def coordinator, ... Steve B is giving JH plenty of rope, let's hope johnny boy uses it to corral this team instead of hanging it...

Only place Williams is a beast is at the dinner table ,he is so overrated he makes some plays but he takes plays off and at times gets man handled by 1 on 1's with guys that are smaller than him Apparently you know better than just about the complete NFL analyst and expert scene... Because the prevailing view on Brandon Williams is quite the opposite of yours...

He'll be long gone before we pick. What, you don't like our mediocre #1 pick Perriman? I have ZERO trust in the Ravens' ability to scout, draft, and then develop WRs. ZERO.

Good that you say that, I was looking for a way to say that too. I've been convinced that we need to go pass rusher in round 1 for monthes now because afterwards the depth is weak, but looking at where we stand I just don't see enough value if Williams and Barnett are gone. I would be ok with Charles Harris but when you compare him to the CBs that will be available, I'd go CB and I think Ozzie will too.

Pats on the ropes after the 1st half. Pats coaches make adjustments on offense and defense and blow out Houston in the second half. Anybody in the Ravens FO watching?
  26. 3 points
Frazier's competence allowed him to take over some of the defensive duties up in the box allowing Pees to coach from the sideline. That's going to be missed as well.

we didnt deserve to be in the playoffs, i wont take pride in getting to the playoffs by default because the AFC is weak outside of the pats/steelers/chiefs.

Now we are a Steelers victory away from our nightmare AFC Championship Scenario. I'm not even going to watch if it ends up being Patriots vs Steelers. Then it's made worse if Dallas beats Green Bay then Atlanta. All the bandwagon teams... it will be terrible. Hopefully the Chiefs can knock Ben, Brown and Bell around enough to win and hopefully the Packers eliminate Dallas tomorrow and then I'll be alright with either Packers or Falcons. Just don't want a nightmare scenario of Patriots vs Cowboys or Steelers vs Cowboys in the Super Bowl.

Matt Ryan has the O.C I wish we had. Shanahan deserves a lot of the credit. Like Kubiak did for Flacco.

I agree but that means they have to give him back to us though lol. Well that will be one recent Super Bowl team knocked out of the playoffs. Hopefully the Texans will surprise everyone and knock off the Patriots. Would love to see new teams in the Super Bowl for once.

This used to be an exciting time in prior years. But after the last couple of years and seeing that all the strategy sessions didn't really help us become a winning franchise. So, while I'm hopeful for 2017, the leading indicators (retention of all the same coaches and the loss of Frazier and potentially Wagner and Williams) leaves me queasy. I believe in Steve, Ozzie and Eric but I'm not sure about Harbaugh and his performance this year. Will we see the same Harbs, Flacco and putrid offense? I am praying we don't but what's changed other than the timeline?

We likely are going to receive a 3rd round comp pick for KO. Thoughts on packaging that pick and our #1 to move up to increase our odds of getting an impact player?

There are always teams with enough cap space to go well above the average for players they deem worthy enough. That, somehow, seems to happen a lot with UFA' leaving Baltimore... Ellerbe, Grubbs, Torrey Smith, Art Jones, McPhee... the list is long. Wagner may just be the next instalment.

Flacco is what he is, and likely won't change. He's a largely durable, strong-armed QB that can make about 2 reads, doesn't feel comfortable under pressure (especially up the middle), has better things to do in the off-season than work with his receivers, is not very capable at checking out of plays on the line, needs constant attention to his mechanics, doesn't have touch on a deep ball, can't anticipate receiver's routes or lead them open but can drill them when they are, and needs play action to help his receivers get the clear separation they need for him to feel comfortable to throw. Now, to get the most out of Joe you first need the right offensive scheme (balanced running game with play action passing and more vertical/deep routes), next an effective offensive line (scheme and coaching first, then talent), and finally WR's who have truly elite route-running skills to get significant separation (Mason, SSSr) to complement burners who pull the secondary deep (Torrey Smith, Perriman, Wallace). I'm convinced he went on the tear he did in 2012 is because Caldwell and Boldin told him to throw to Boldin even when he looks covered, and trust Q to win the battle for the ball (so of course we released him the following year, SMH). Since we won't fix offensive scheme or O-Line coaching this year, we should next get a bigger, nastier center and left guard (assuming Lewis moves to RT), and perhaps draft a WR like Davis or Ross, who are the best route-runners in the draft. There's no receiver in the draft like a Julio Jones or Dez Bryant. Davis is very interesting as a #2 guy, and Ross is a slot guy who would make Camp and maybe Keenan Reynolds redundant.
