Steve Smith won't be back. I'm 89 percent sure of it

Best part is how everyone who is running the organization is putting everything down and setting the record straight. Also like how no one is excusing Flacco for his play while also acknowledging that there were other factors in play for all of their offensive woes. Like a logical person should.

Probably the worst news I heard today or in a while. Wow.

This week Walter Football has us taking Quincy Wilson in the 1st and T.J. Watt in the 2nd

Flacco did all he could to try and win at Heinz. Two dropped TD's from Pitta and Waller and it wouldn't have been close. The defense lost that game. You have to give respect where it's due, and I'm not even the biggest Flacco lover.

Dang...hated that he left. I could have seen him promoted to DC if Pees falted in 2017.
  8. 5 points
Surely if we tag him he gets paid like a left tackle and that's a terrible deal

Wasn't a big fan of Castillo, the run game was awful under his tenure.

About time. Oline has been poor since he took over as whole. Maybe coincidence, maybe not.

I just hate that I can't go tour Area 51, I am a big fan of the U.S. and want to see what is going on in there. They should totally do tours

i love these press conferences, steve comes out to speak once a year and everytime he is just captivating. he pulls no punches and is as transparent as they come, but he has too much sense to be a kneejerk kinda guy. when the whole fanbase has their torch and pitchforks out, he basically says "i know how to do this, i know how to scan the whole situation and take all things into account, and i know you fans have no idea what that even means but its ok, you can holler and scream at me and blame me all you want because im not firing harbaugh and cutting flacco. one day you'll thank me because continuity brings success as ive learned from being an uber successful business owner and team owner". and its just brilliant. he scolds his closest companions in the most productive and positive way. when harbaugh is on as short a leash as he'll ever be, he says "i still got faith in you, keep your guys, run this team the way you always have, if it works out i had faith all along, and if it doesnt then im sorry but we have to part ways, youre my guy until you see yourself out". how anyone can watch this press conference and misconstrue his words so badly is beyond me. the man speaks in black and white and even with smokescreens regarding the draft and free agency it isnt hard to understand exactly what message he is trying to send. his message is that you fans have to be patient and stop acting like a spoiled petulant child because youve had it so good for so long that you cant handle a little downtime.

Meanwhile the Colts just take another WR in the first, and Luck cries himself to sleep.

Ravens are as good at drafting WRs, as the Browns are picking QBs

Again I'm a big Joe supporter. But citing the Pittsburgh game of Joe playing great and ignoring 12-13 games where the offense couldn't move the ball proves what exactly? Citing some useless near record for consecutive completions proves what again? Yes. We need better weapons, an improved OL and run game. But Joe did not play up to par this year. He wasn't the whole problem but he was part of it. I get tired of the Joe bashing too... but trust me you're not helping the cause by being overly insensitive and acting like he played great this year. Youre going after some of the actual Joe supporters as if anyone says Joe needs to play better it's blasphemy. Harbs knows it. Ozzie knows it. Heck Joe himself knows it. And I'm confident with the offseason, being further removed from injury and improving the OL that Joe will be back next season. But my gosh - he did not play up to his standard in at least half the games this year.

So, if they missed by roughly 10% compared to your analysis, how is that "horrific job"?
  17. 4 points
Don't tell Mike Preston that though... Preston's got to sell papers. He lines Harbaugh, Ozzie and Joe up and runs them over with a bus.

Sarcasm? lol Didn't he finish a game with a torn ACL.

Backing up a bit, can someone explain to me how Ben ended up with a 105 rating for that game? He completed 13 passes to his guys and two to the Dolphins. Almost all of his "yardage" was YAC by Brown.

Falcons invest in OL and look at that.. its not rocket science

lol this game is already more entertaining than all of last weekend

It's actually not that far fetched. Taylor has also 1100 yards rushing and another 10 TDs. He threw more TDs and less INTs. I'm not saying I'd rather have Taylor over Flacco to build a franchise but the numbers do not lie. In the regular season, Flacco is more like Jay Cutler than he is like anything that resembles "elite". Flacco's best attributes is that he plays well in the clutch--a rare attribute. Unfortunately if he doesn't play in any big games, he is rather pedestrian and the numbers support that. In fact, Jay Cutler's career QBR rating is higher than Flacco's. That I find comical. Facts: -Taylor has more WINs the last 2 years -Taylor has more Pro Bowl nods -Taylor has thrown more TDs (despite less passing attempts) -Taylor has thrown less INTs -Taylor has rushed for over 1100 yards -Taylor has rushed for 10 TDs -Taylor has a higher QBR rating over the last 2 years (he is top 10 in QBR rating) The reason the Bills benched Taylor is because of financial reasons and the guaranteed money in his contract, plus the fact that they have new coaching next year. Again your argument or lack thereof of one is not a very convincing one.

It won't matter, they'll just complain about Flacco in every other thread. I'd say just leave it alone and stop responding to them. Eventually they will tire of being the only ones commenting in this thread.

So ignorant, yet so assured of himself. It's only January but I'm confident this is a serious contender for the dumbest post of the year.

How come not all college websites show the majors of their athletes. Some colleges do but not all, why is that? I'm really curious to see what players like Tim williams, and Quincy Wilson I know Charles Harris majored in biology and in an interview he talked about how important that was to him which is very admirable for an athlete to take his education just as seriously. I think that shows maturity, responsibility and a good work ethic to be successful in life

I'd say tackling is the prime reason we were the top defense for a good stretch. We swarmed like madmen to the ball

I'm not a huge fan of our WR coach. The development of our WR's has never been great while he was here in Baltimore. Plus, Breshad hasn't had a full offseason training with Joe because they both were injured. This offseason should give them enough time to work up a good chemistry for next season.
  29. 3 points
OK that's one game in a entire season by that same rationale, people can point to Joe's back to back picks in the Jets game. It works both ways. The fact of the matter is you are jumping to the defense of Flacco when it's not required. This is a Joe Flacco thread, if you want to talk about the shortcomings of the WRs and the role they played in the poor offensive performance, find that thread and post there. But if you can't handle people giving their honest opinions of areas they'd like to see Flacco improve or you're so emotionally invested in defending Flacco that even he said there are things he needs to improve this off-season and you come to defense as if I cursed or condemned him then it's probably gonna be a long off-season for you. Also I didn't fail to realize anything. I've said on numerous occasions that the weapons around him need to improve, but that doesn't change the fact that he needs to work on his footwork and accuracy, especially in this offense. When it's time to talk about the weapons around him we can finish this convo but for now this is a Joe Flacco topic and if all you have is that the WRs need to get better, then yes that truly is all.....at least for me.

Reed's a coach; and an ex-Raven who is a first round HOF'er... Of course his name is going to pop up.
  32. 3 points
Steve, you should have been a Raven much sooner. It felt like you belonged here. Many of us are truly sad that we didn't get to share more than we did of your wonderful career. God Bless you and your family. You'll surely be missed.

Ravens should hire Rick Dennison as either a QB coach, offensive line coach, or offensive coordinater if they were smart.
  34. 3 points
Dare I ask... why? Have you seen Chris Davis play defense? He's quite good at it.
  35. 3 points
That really chaps my butt. Frazier should be our DC. Sick of Pees scheme

Likely to be franchise tagged by the Steelers. Don't think he ever sniffs FA. So you were right when you said we won't have a shot at signing him.

@allblackraven I'm glad Steve Biscotti runs this team
  42. 3 points
Uh .....did you not watch the presser? They said establishing a running game is a key for them going into next season and to have a balanced attack. And steve gave a perfect answer as to why ozzie is still the draft guru
  43. 3 points
I wouldn't. Zachary Orr is becoming a great LB. The guy has 133 tackles and 3 interceptions this season. That's impressive especially by just won the starting role in the preseason. We starting to have a LB tandem here. CJ Mosley almost have 100 tackles and 4 picks they pretty much equal. It a matter of time before the NFL would start noticing him. While Mosley is in the Pro Bowl, Orr should be there but the Pro Bowl is a popularity vote so nobody ain't noticing him yet. Mosley and Orr l like that tandem. Orr is an up and coming great LB. l wouldn't give him up for an 1st or 2nd round unproven player.

Ben is an extremely overrated playoff QB. Hasn't had a wow playoff game since...?
  47. 3 points
He's so overrated it makes me mad.

Flacco needs to take a pay cut. There's no way he or anyone can justify his cap hit being 10 million MORE than Tom Brady's in 2017. Free up some money so your team can help get you a better O Lineman and receiver.
  49. 3 points
yeah buddy. You mean like the passion he showed driving his team down the field at the end of the game last week for what should have been the winning TD? "Flacco forum" lol no buddy......this is a Ravens fan forum.
