People complain about Pees being a heavy zone coordinator, but want Frazier and his Tampa 2...?

theyve raised ticket prices 1x... ONCE in the last 8 years. And with all the investment theyre putting into the stadium - what do you want them to do? Why do Ozzie and Decosta get a pass for drafting? Ummm... theyre not just getting a pass - they got an A from where im sitting. Franchise LT who was the best pass protector in the entire league down the stretch (per PFF), a legit lockdown type CB, a day 1 above average starter at guard with huge upside (they said they see KO potential in Lewis, btw), a very good situational pass rusher in Judon with big upside, an UDFA gem of a DT who could allow us to walk from BWill, a special teams ace in Moore who showed glimpses of great route running at WR, Dixon came on big down the stretch and is a legit potential lead back..... And that doesnt even include the potential in our 2nd and 3rd round picks. Kaufusi has elite short area burst and many saw him as having monster potential as a pass rusher... some even gave him a rd 1 grade based on his short area burst and strength... and Correa we'll see. But they ACED this draft. Could wind up as one of our best 2-3 drafts in history. And yes. They addressed wanting a dominant run game.... and how you need a dominant OL to do it. Which they see as a priority, along with adding talent at RB. Anything else?

Cant wait til next season when the offense is drastically improved... the run game is top 10, maybe top 5, and Flacco is incredibly efficient. And all the people hating the decision to keep Marty are saying - See knew it all along, coming in mid-season is difficult for anyone. All he needed was an offseason, a good OL, and a focus on developing a run game! EDIT: Love getting negged for saying the Ravens will improve. People would rather be right, than have the Ravens be good.

Probably the worst news I heard today or in a while. Wow.

I don't know how you can say Weddle is overpaid, he was THE reason why our secondary turned around. Best FS we have had since Reed left, another field general.

You want to go into the offseason with Aiken, BP, Moore as our top WRs? that's a disaster waiting to happen. I never thought id see this fan base want to cut a WR that hit 1k yards in a season where our offense was terrible. He clearly still has plenty of game left.
  14. 5 points
Dang...hated that he left. I could have seen him promoted to DC if Pees falted in 2017.
  15. 5 points
Wasn't a big fan of Castillo, the run game was awful under his tenure.

About time. Oline has been poor since he took over as whole. Maybe coincidence, maybe not.

I just hate that I can't go tour Area 51, I am a big fan of the U.S. and want to see what is going on in there. They should totally do tours
  18. 5 points
Don't buy them. Ravens had a great draft in 2016. They talked about a more balanced attack.
  19. 5 points
I don't want him with our first at this time. I wouldn't mind later but I doubt he'll be around. Not the best fit

If history is any past indication, Dennison would be the OC here by about week 8 if he took the QB coach job haha.

All a matter of perspective and expectations. I would say that, typically, a team that wins 5 games would be happy to win 8 games the next season, because its pretty hard to go from being a 5 win team to being a 10-12 win team in a single offseason. However, that's mostly based on preseason expectations. Based on what we saw on the field throughout the year, we definitely left something to be desired. Too many games that we lost where we had a great opportunity to win, especially against teams that I didn't feel were as good as us (namely Redskins and Jets). In the end, we beat some other average to below average teams, but struggled against the better teams in the league. So if you take the season in a vacuum compared to last season, some significant improvements in some much needed improvement areas, and obviously a better record. But we could have been better, given our personnel. We were never SB level, but in a down year for the AFC, we could have won a playoff game or maybe two.

If you didn't catch the press conference, please make sure you do when you can. I truly enjoyed the explanation for his decisions and loved hearing his passion for the game.

Only place Williams is a beast is at the dinner table ,he is so overrated he makes some plays but he takes plays off and at times gets man handled by 1 on 1's with guys that are smaller than him Apparently you know better than just about the complete NFL analyst and expert scene... Because the prevailing view on Brandon Williams is quite the opposite of yours...

Again I'm a big Joe supporter. But citing the Pittsburgh game of Joe playing great and ignoring 12-13 games where the offense couldn't move the ball proves what exactly? Citing some useless near record for consecutive completions proves what again? Yes. We need better weapons, an improved OL and run game. But Joe did not play up to par this year. He wasn't the whole problem but he was part of it. I get tired of the Joe bashing too... but trust me you're not helping the cause by being overly insensitive and acting like he played great this year. Youre going after some of the actual Joe supporters as if anyone says Joe needs to play better it's blasphemy. Harbs knows it. Ozzie knows it. Heck Joe himself knows it. And I'm confident with the offseason, being further removed from injury and improving the OL that Joe will be back next season. But my gosh - he did not play up to his standard in at least half the games this year.

You're an idiot if you think the Ravens can or will trade Joe Flacco this offseason. It's literally impossible. There's just absolutely no way that can financially occur. Even if we wanted to trade him we're married to him for the time being and he's got the leverage.

WEDDLE: $13M guaranteed for 4 years. $26 overall. For 2016... Base was $1M; Signing Bonus @1.75M; and Roster Bonus of $1M.... WALLACE ..... two years and $11.5 million. The deal is really for one year and $5.75 million with an option for another season worth $5.75 million. Wallace got $4.5 million signing bonus to sign in Baltimore with a $1 million bonus due in March of 2017. Problem is people want us to bring in good players, then they don't think they deserve to get paid.... I'm not thinking this guy was overpaid this year.... Not for all the leadership he brings to this team. $3.75M? I think he's worth every penny.

Sidney jones will be a legit corner. He is technically sound, plays the run, has nasty ball skills and seems to have great awareness while the ball is in the air. Jones, Smith, Young and Powers would be a solid group with hopefully one more addition ok this draft.

ROUND 1- Charles harris OLB Missouri This one was tough. I have a feeling were trying to keep teams from thinking were taking a pass rusher from the state of ravens address today. So I tried to be realistic here. I was torn between him and takk however i feel we need a player who can make an INSTANT impact on the team, takk has talent and i would t mind takimg him here however i dont think he will be ready year 1 to make an imediate impact. I either don't think Tim Williams will be here and if he is I dont think we will take a chance on him. Not when you have a guy like Harris or Takk who don't have any character concerns He's not a complete pass rusher like Harris. Harris has a great first step, the ABILITY to bend, and has several good pass rush moves to his arsenal including a devastating spin move. Suggs can reach him a little about run defense ROUND 2- Jourdan Lewis CB Michigan https://youtu.be/yhHIVaPRnUo Great cover corner. Mirrors better than anyone in the country and is willing to get physical in run support. A+ athlete with the ability to return kickoffs maybe even punts. Him and tavon young can be out future in the secondary and dont be too worried about size. Size doesn't mean everything, it's how big you play that matters ROUND 3- JAY Guillermo C Clemson https://youtu.be/o5uMiAEwt5Q Sorry only tape I could find Really stood out the last 2 weeks against some of the most athletic fronts in the country and more than held his own. Great run blocker and should be an upgrade over zuttah ROUND 3- Chris Godwin WR Penn st https://youtu.be/dHCwL5J8jyM When harbaugh talked about getting another complementary receiver this guy declared nearly at the same time so I had to dig into his tape. He looks like exactly what we need. He's a great possession receiver and knows how to go up and get the ball. Better athlete than given credit for. Another option I like at receiver here would be Taywan Taylor from WKU or copper kupp but I think kupp will be gone by now. ROUND 4- Will Hernandez OG UTEP I couldn't find any tape on him but I've heard very good things about him. Ive heard good things from him according to SI and he's graded as the best run blocker according to PFF. It might be too early for him but if we really want to fix our oline and want to be able to run the ball consistently again we have to take this kid into consideration. Rounds 5-7 I have no idea at this point lol but I know I do want to take Taylor Reynolds CB out of JMU at some point maybe as an undrafted FA i think this kid has a shot to play in the pros. After all JMU did win the FCS national championship. I tried to be as realistic as possible and I didn't take into account any free agent moves. Let me know what you guys think!

How come not all college websites show the majors of their athletes. Some colleges do but not all, why is that? I'm really curious to see what players like Tim williams, and Quincy Wilson I know Charles Harris majored in biology and in an interview he talked about how important that was to him which is very admirable for an athlete to take his education just as seriously. I think that shows maturity, responsibility and a good work ethic to be successful in life

Walter Football posted that Tim Williams has failed multiple drug tests and could have Randy Gregory type of issues. He could slip to Round 2 much like Gregory. Though if Gregory has shown anything, Williams could drop further. http://walterfootball.com/nfldraftrumormill/article/Teams Think Tim Williams Could Slip to Round 2

I'm not a huge fan of our WR coach. The development of our WR's has never been great while he was here in Baltimore. Plus, Breshad hasn't had a full offseason training with Joe because they both were injured. This offseason should give them enough time to work up a good chemistry for next season.

OK that's one game in a entire season by that same rationale, people can point to Joe's back to back picks in the Jets game. It works both ways. The fact of the matter is you are jumping to the defense of Flacco when it's not required. This is a Joe Flacco thread, if you want to talk about the shortcomings of the WRs and the role they played in the poor offensive performance, find that thread and post there. But if you can't handle people giving their honest opinions of areas they'd like to see Flacco improve or you're so emotionally invested in defending Flacco that even he said there are things he needs to improve this off-season and you come to defense as if I cursed or condemned him then it's probably gonna be a long off-season for you. Also I didn't fail to realize anything. I've said on numerous occasions that the weapons around him need to improve, but that doesn't change the fact that he needs to work on his footwork and accuracy, especially in this offense. When it's time to talk about the weapons around him we can finish this convo but for now this is a Joe Flacco topic and if all you have is that the WRs need to get better, then yes that truly is all.....at least for me.

There are always teams with enough cap space to go well above the average for players they deem worthy enough. That, somehow, seems to happen a lot with UFA' leaving Baltimore... Ellerbe, Grubbs, Torrey Smith, Art Jones, McPhee... the list is long. Wagner may just be the next instalment.

Reed's a coach; and an ex-Raven who is a first round HOF'er... Of course his name is going to pop up.
  40. 3 points
Dare I ask... why? Have you seen Chris Davis play defense? He's quite good at it.
  41. 3 points
That really chaps my butt. Frazier should be our DC. Sick of Pees scheme
  42. 3 points
What do you guys think of Dareus Rogers WR USC. He's 6-1 215 so he has good size and seems to have very reliable ball skills. Fits the mold of "possession reciever" just haven't heard much from him. He's really been flying under the radar and I like what I see. He fights for the ball and most importantly for a receiver, he uses his HANDS to catch the ball.

Not happening for a RB period at least not for Bell. peterson in his prime maybe, but Bell isn't Peterson in his prime.

Likely to be franchise tagged by the Steelers. Don't think he ever sniffs FA. So you were right when you said we won't have a shot at signing him.
  45. 3 points
Don't get the talk of drafting a RB. With our glaring needs at CB, edge rusher, safety to replace Webb (if he is indeed a cap casualty), center, right tackle (assuming Wagner will be too costly) and overall depth on the OL, the need of a 3rd RB seems pretty far down the list.

Man we've got a great owner. Only wish I couid work for a guy like that. Id come into work everyday excited just to be a part of such a great staff and organization.

Yes, bring in Roman as our Run Game Coordinater - which means Castillo is gone (because what has he really done??) and ultimately Roman will be in place mid season when Morninweg is fired because the offense is slacking again. Am I the only one seeing a trend here??????
  48. 3 points
Not really. Every position group should have a dedicated coach for when the offense breaks up into position groups for individual drills at practice. Mechanics are a muscle memory. They should be drilled constantly and when they arent they can be lost. And having an outside eye look at the mechanics and provide critique is always a good thing. Developing poor mechanics also can become a muscle memory which can be hard for one to see whats wrong by him or herself to correct them. A QB coach should have a wealth of knowledge on specific drills, exercises and environments that correct, promote and then build upon those mechanics. Plus, having a QB coach gives Joe someone who is with him closely every day to be an extension of his voice in the coaches room and meetings. You see great hitters go into slumps all the time. Much of the time its bc theyve developed a bad habit, or with their changing body they need to also change the mechanics of their swing. They could have done it one way their entire career with success, but then they work closely with a hitting coach and he sees whats going wrong, and advises the player on how to fix it. Shorten the swing, change stance, etc... Its not like the guy was hitting wrong before, and a player could change their swing mechanics several times in their career - none being wrong... just different things working at different times. I mean these guys have been lifting weights since probably middle school... why do they need a strength coach? Theyve all been playing football since they were kids - why do any of them need coaches at all?

I don't know if I've ever appreciated Bisciotti as much as I do after that press conference. Also, I can't recall if he's ever done this in past years, but he specifically called people out - players and coaches alike - much more than I can remember, so it's good to see that level of accountability taking place, even if it's behind closed doors and we fans can't always see it.

I'm not in love with Wallace as a player, but it makes absolutely no sense to get rid of him. You're really going to trust Perriman at this juncture? He still needs a ton of work. It makes 0 sense to cut Wallace only to sign another player. You have Wallace who is more than a deep threat. The priority should be adding something in addition to Wallace. Getting rid of him only sets the team back.
